  1. I'll just echo a couple of peoples sentiments already. It was a good result at the end of the day.

For all the criticism Moyes got the other month it seems laughable that people are moaning at a draw away at Villa. Think someone already mentioned this but this is also why the atmosphere has been somewhat dire at Goodison this season, we expect to win everyone below 7th and when we aren't, we, instead of getting behind the boys get on top of them. Our expectations have risen so much that peolpe are getting so annoyed with a point away.

Now all these claims that people are shit are a bit drastic imo. Yes they may not be performing to the high standard expected but everyone has a a dip in form, not one player can keep a high standard of football in every game he plays. It also seems to me that some Everton fans have become very fickle, there were shouts from people (I was not included mind) for Osman to be in the England squad, then when things go a little bad for him everyone jumps on his back and calls for him to be sold etc.

Now I'd understand this reaction if we were in 14th/15th position but at the beginning of the season I would have gladly accepted a 7th finish and with the possibility of us getting into Europe, that we are STILL on track to do, I can't understand why everyone is getting worked up about this result.

Lets put the effort we do in slagging the players off into supporting them and drive them forward.

ps. not questioning anyones support to Everton btw just thing people need to realise what great position we are and to lower the standards a little as we are not a top 5 team.

  2. I'm also in the Mac 3 vibrating gang. Although, I've got a load of disposables ones which I have to use at the moment and tbh you get used to them but don't like shaving with them every day.

I have a big problem with that Fusion blade. The advert annoys the crap out of me for these reasons.

"miracle of fusion, revolutionary technology and a unique idea". Over hyped or what, it only has 2 extra blades and another one on the back to trim. Is it just me or have I missed something here? Where is the miracle? The revolutionary technology? Or even the unique idea? Loads of people say that there needs to be a trimmer blade on razors, hardly any of those three things it claimed to be is it?

  3. When I was 18 I was planning on getting an Everton tattoo. My dad (who is an Evertonian) was/is against tattoos and I remember not listening and was gonna get my tattoo done a couple of days later.

Then my dad came in and told me that my grandad, when in the war, had loads of tattoos all over his arms, as did all his mates in the army. Then when he was older he hated them, but because he had some on his neck and backhands he couldn't hide them. He then made my dad promise him that he wouldn't get a tattoo as he'll regret it. My dad never got one and think I won't either now.

  4. I got it from 'The Essential History of Everton' by Mark Platt foreword by Brian Labone (2000) Headline Book Publishing.

    "Never in Everton

Although St. Domingo's church was situated in the Everton district of Liverpool, Everton Football Club has never actually played in Everton. Their pioneering early days were spent in the district of Anfield and their current home, Goodison Park, is in Walton."

  5. Fair points all Z, but to be called Everton and not be IN Everton to me is odd. The MK Dons have had a change of name with their change of venue (National Hockey Stadium FFS), so what do we call ourselves?.

I actually remember reading that Everton have technically never played in the Everton district.

I'll try and dig out the book where I got it from...

  6. Mike, a lot of students at university are having real problems with their spelling and grammar. Which in turn means a lot of unneccessary marks are lost.

I like to think I'm good at both spelling and grammar but obviously I do get things wrong as I'm an idiot and never reread what I write before handing it in.

    I've got 9 GCSEs all A-C.

Grade D in English Language. Did do two others but fell out with the teacher in English Literature after the first month so quit, and was too dumb to pass my physics. Main reasons for only getting one is being a dick. Never took anything serioulsy so never revised. It didn't help that majority of my mates weren't doing A-Levels so pissed about and I did as well. One of my regrets that though.

Went to Darlington and got a HND in Journalism and now at Leeds Uni doing Sports Journalism. Can't wait to finish though.
