  1. That tallys with what Liam has just posted as well. I have hope at last :D

bit worrying that none of the news sites seem to have updated with anything this morning

did read in the metro this morning though something about Everton having to have a rethink as Boro don't want to let Yakubu go. BUT....there didn't seem to be any new quotes or anything like that.

so lets hope no news it good news

  2. suppose this thread's the best place for this. as I've said before I work at a national rag (don't shoot me down this time please - as I said the last time, why would I bother lying  !) - i just spoke to a guy I know on the sports desk - he reckons the Yakubu deal might go through today. He doesn't have any insider knowledge as such but he said that whenever the BBC run a story that has "BBC Story understands" in it, it generally happens pretty soon after and all the rest of the papers sit up and take notice

    fingers crossed eh!

  3. Its also in the sun today about Yak and Manny.

Can maybe at a push see Manny but can't see DM spending 11m on Yak.

Would be happy if both signed

Jacklelz, Yes reports say the bid has been rejeced.

if we actually got those two players (big if) we would be a force to be reckoned with

    Howard

    Jagielka

    Lescott

    Yobo

    Baines

    Arteta

    Cahill

    Fernandes

    Pienaar

    Yakubu

    Johnson

    that's a world class team!

  4. -------------------Howard---------------------------

    Jagielka-------Yobo-------Lescott-------Baines

    ---------------------Neville-------------------------

    Arteta---------Lucho-------Cahill----------Pienaar

    -----------------------Johnson---------------------

now thats a good team there

that team, if fit, would get us into the top 4 again i reckon

  5. ooberman, how can you put vdm in our line up, :o he wont get a place in the team till we are down to a 10 man squad, and even then he'll be taken off at half time. :P

think it's blind faith to be honest mate. :D haven't seen pienaar yet, dunno if he'd slot in there somewhere instead of vdm. i think i just want vdm to be good SO badly....sure he never will be though

  6. I'm registered with this one and only this one, i had a look at others but had no probs when making a decision.

PS... toffetalk has its problems in terms of the occasional poster ;) but nothing too serious.

this is by the far the best i've been no. very little unsubstantiated rumour, and even when there is it's put in a place that clearly states it's a rumour thread!

also, everyone's very welcoming to newcomers and there's very little in-fighting....

    well done all :D

  7. when will people learn??? VDM is past it! fat, washed-up (allegedly alcoholic) loser! i want him to be great more than anyone, but he won't be....and he's fallen out with Moyes if the papers aren't full of shite (a big "if") - so no chance of him playing on the wing for us methinks. my team as is stands would be

    -------------Howard------------------

Jagielka---Lescott-------Yobo-----Valente (that's a quality back four/five inc keeps - would stand us in good stead I think)

    -------------Carsley-----------------------

    Arteta------------------------------Neville

    -------------Cahill-------------------------

    ---------Johnson-----Vaughan------------

  8. Not a bad line-up...a zillion times better than that sycophantic pile of shite last Sunday :sick01: . Given the choice though I'd nip over to Johannesburg...more appealing proposition to me (though I am fairly ancient, so what do I know  ).

you'd never get there in time on your penny farthing mikeo :P

  9. anyone looking forward to it. im only looking forward to metallica but of course differing music tastes must be respected

so who are you looking forward to see

i'm not going, but if i was i'd be p*ssing my pants in anticipation of Spinal Tap!!

  10. No way would Smith be ahead of Vaughan, swap those 2 around (in fact ditch Smith's name) and it looks quite realistic. Not sure on Valente though...

yeah well i suppose Neville could go left back instead of Valente - or Lescott maybe

but anyway, the point is the squad has far more options with those players there. i agree about the Smith/Vaughan thing in hindsight too
