  1. reading have just been beaten 2 - 1 at home by blackburn.

we are a lot better than them. in the chelski game we scored a couple so i would expect us to do the same here.

plus i hope we wont give their forwards the kind of space we allowed lampard and drogba. if we dont we should get 3 points here.

and its about time aj started earning his wages again..

  2. Also check out...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelvin_MacKenzie

If you don't know who someone is, or why someone would want to put a petition to get him of tele then

a.) don't contribute to the foum not knowin anythin

B.) go and find out who they are

getting someone kicked out of a job because you dont like his journalism smacks of fascism. i dont like it.

and i wont do it. and its another example of living in the past. which is dumb!

  3. the history shows we were once a great club, challenging for honours year on year.

your living in the past. that gets you nowhere.

its the present and the future that count.

we are making progress. those who think that we arent have no grip on reality.

but then people who live in the past dont!

"these are facts : "weve got new players, a new training ground, possibility of a new stadium and we dont have that curse of battling to avoid relegation every season."

and thats an improvement. thats an indication that we are moving in the right direction.

"have to scrimp together the pennies every transfer window just to buy a SECOND rate player."

boo hoo hoo! easily said! but i notice you dont offer any solutions.

stop complaining about we DONT have. most clubs in the premiership dont have it either."

  4. yes we are steadily improving. thats isnt the major problem. the problem is how far down we have slipped!

i see. you want it both ways!

but most clubs in the premiership dont have the trophy cabinet we have.

history entitles you to nothing. and living in the past will get you nowhere in the present or the future.

and its the present and the future that counts.

  5. Java - whats with calling people immature on all of your bloody posts?

anyone who was working at the Sun when that tragedy happened will get no viewing from me or any of my family.

so we should sign a petiton a guy should be booted out of his job because you dont like the sun?

why would anyone think thats immature?

  6. Step Down. He'd have to be Put down.

Then he still might not vacate.

bk is a realist. he said it at the agm; 'if mr moneybags comes along i'm gone'

and he will be. he may have money but he isnt in the premier league for cash anymore and he knows it. running a premiership club is a high risk enterprise. we should be grateful that he stuck with the club thru thick and thin in the hard times when imminent relegation constantly threatened to wipe out his investment.

a lot of chairmen would have quit then. in fact, one or two who couldnt take the heat did!

  7. You're right, this doesnt prove much at all.

Bolton's squad probably is worth less than you lot. Look at them, consistently challenging for Europe in the past couple of seasons.

Its how a manager raises the game of 'lesser players', if i can use those words, is what matters. Your '50' million squad easily has the potential to be 7-8 and is only a couple of players away from europe (6th place)

bolton seem to take on older players with a good pedigree rather than younger players. i dont think its a strategy for long term success.

moyes has introduced younger players and reduced the average age of the side. he's planning for the future and i think that makes more sense.

  8. the goals by chelski were late in the game so he didnt need to bring on anyone earlier. and when he did compare what we had to bring on to chelski! the had a 100 million quid sitting on the bench!

i dont blame moyes for the loss but i do blame the players.

carsley is a seasoned veteran and to handle that ball as he did was incredibly foolish.

both late goals by lampard and drogba occurred because their markers gave them too much space and time. lampard especially had way too much time to setup his shot.

thats the kind of carelessness that you can't afford against talent like that. you have to stick to them like glue and harrass them as soon as they get near to the ball.

ive no doubt that moysey had a few words with them after the game. very strong words i hope.

if certain players had maintained their concentration we would have won that game!

  9. Jav - how can you be happy with the situation we are in? It is nowhere near rosey, we have next to no money for trasnfers and have to scrimp together the pennies every transfer window just to buy a SECOND rate player. I understand we have to earn our way in this league, but that is no reason to be happy to stand still. BK is a tosser who is killing our club, open your eyes and see the bigger picture. As has been said above NSNO - and we are certainly not getting the best.

"we are not getting the best".

oh isnt that a shame! the world doesnt owe us a living simply because weve had a distinguished past. that sentimental crap and gets you nowhere!

how can you be happy with the situation we are in?

i never said i was happy with the situation we are in.

i said "the facts of life have changed in the world of soccer since chelski. not for the better but we have to live with them and workout how to make a success of the club in this new environment."

because you are unable to respond to what i ACTUALLY SAID and the points i raised you try to put words into my mouth. and your not the first to try it.

these are facts : "weve got new players, a new training ground, possibility of a new stadium and we dont have that curse of battling to avoid relegation every season."

and thats an improvement. thats an indication that we are moving in the right direction.

"have to scrimp together the pennies every transfer window just to buy a SECOND rate player."

boo hoo hoo! easily said! but i notice you dont offer any solutions.

stop complaining about we DONT have. most clubs in the premiership dont have it either.

  10. If you read the petition this is what you will find.............

    To: BBC

We want the BBC to remove Kelvin MacKenzie as one of the hosts to their Christmas Day broadcast of the News Review of the Year on Radio Five Live at 5.00pm.

Kelvin MacKenzie is, in the views of the undersigned, a man of great dishonesty with his actions after the Hillsborough football disaster, and his refusal to back down on the lies he allowed to be printed.

    Sincerely.

WHAT LIES? and doesnt he have the right to an opinion even if he disagrees with you or me?

  11. I feel a BIG generation gap growing between Evertonians.

Due mostly to the mismanagemnet of this great old institution.

Us older guys were born in to & indoctrinated to the school of science.

@ best the youth / generationof today have had the Dogs of War & a 4th place finish.

    Say No more.

do you know what history entitles you to? NOTHING!

you have to earn success. and those whiners who keep complaining about the long hard slog needed to reach the top 4 are simply immature and out of touch with reality. they are like kids who want everything now. they expect the tooth fairy to come along and save us from the challenges and the reality that all mid-table clubs are now facing.

soccer has its ups and downs, its the nature of the game. when i started to support Everton, liverpoo were in the second division. there is no point in living in the past.

anyone who has the gall to complain that this club hasnt made progress in the last few seasons is either a fool, a liar or a cry baby. or more likely all three!

weve got new players, a new training ground, possibility of a new stadium and we dont have that curse of battling to avoid relegation every season.

the facts of life have changed in the world of soccer since chelski. not for the better but we have to live with them and workout how to make a success of the club in this new environment.

and no amount of rambling on about how great we used to be will get us anywhere.

  12. a takeover is probably NOT going to happen. despite our history, (which means nothing to a businessman), we are simply not an attractive enough economic prospect for a takeover. and we dont have the element of glamour to attract the other type of buyer.

as bk said at the agm last week, "If the man comes along with the money, I’ll be gone, I’ll be sitting with you."

well i dont see a queque to buy Everton, and i think it likely thats the way it will stay.

there is no easy way or shortcuts for mid-table sides like Everton, (and weve only just become a mid-table side after years of being relegation fodder) to develop into a top 4 side.

and those bellyachers and whiners who claim that there is, are simply immature and out of touch with reality. they are like kids who want to open their xmas presents before xmas day.

our history is nice but it doesnt give us the right to be in the top four. we have to earn that all over again. its the nature of the game and sport that you have ups and downs. when i started to support Everton liverpoo were a second division side!

lets get real and get a grip on reality. hoping for a fairy godmother is for losers, like those poor bastards whose only ambition is to win the lottery.

  13. mourinho is an asshole!

drogba admits that he dives. he considers it part of his game. he retracted it later under orders from the club but thats hardly convincing. and he's not the only chelsea player who does.

Drogba diving storm 26 March 2006

    http://news.viewlondon.co.uk/Drogba_diving...m_17078537.html

"Chelsea striker Didier Drobga has insisted that he doesn't dive after admitting to during an interview.

The Premiership leaders have been fighting off claims about their players after Newcastle defender Robbie Elliott was sent off for a challenge on Shaun Wright-Phillips in which the Chelsea winger was not touched.

Their case has not been helped by an interview Drogba carried out for Match of the Day last night, in which he admitted that he dived.

"Sometimes I dive, sometimes I stand," Drogba said, before correcting himself by saying, "no, I don't dive.""

  14. I blame Moyes for this one, Chelski changed formation twice, and Moyes continued with a set up who flattered to deceive. Thought most of the lads today had a decent day at the office, the same can not be said for the boss.

rubbish. chelski can beat anyone when they turn up the pressure. the goals were brilliantly taken and would have beaten any keeper in the game.

but both lampard and drogba were allowed too much time and space to setup their shots. but that the quality you get for £20 million quid.

the game was literally handed to them by carsley. he had no need to handle the ball and it was a critical moment just after the start of the 2nd half, when you want to keep them out.

that was the turning point. it allowed them to recover their confidence and turn the game around.

  15. i thought that bt would be a great signing when we got him.

and when aj came along i thought they would be a great partnership and both would benefit from it. sadly bt seems to have lost his touch entirely.

i can see him finishing up like jeffers, all promise but no delivery.

even if bt does get a goal or two, (that would enhance is price!), i would still be inclined to sell him and try to signup another proven striker. same with faddie. he's a great premiership player. scottish premiership that is!

weve gotta couple of promising youngsters coming along but we have to score more goals right now.

  16. Not a question of that,i see no real evidence of "steady progress".

in that case you have a very short memory. instead of being constantly battling relegation we are now fighting for a uefa cup spot. thats a huge step forward.

The board now seem to have found a real sense of direction and purpose after years of floundering, and this has fired the fans and the team with an optimism that we haven’t had for a long time.

as for bk i dont envy him his position. since chelski's takeover football has changed, and maybe not for the better. we can't compete with chelski or manu or even arsenal. and neither can ANY other premiership side.

its a question of a slow and steady improvement to try and develop a side that can compete against the financial giants.

quite frankly if you have to have something as obvious as this explained to you then you really have lost the plot!

  17. And whos the fairy godmother whos going to pay for the move in the first place?

Think we all agree we need to move but as i say again and again we dont have the cash

i doubt if ANY club has the cash. there is a thing called credit tho.

and thats the real issue. can it be financed?
