  1. I would suggest everybody looking back at the two Arsenal goals and keeping a close eye on Stones position and body language for both. Quite frankly lazy lacklustre defending and I'm not talking about the poor pass for the second. I'm watching his positioning when both balls are delivered. I said this a while back he's been shit and was shot down by certain members of this forum.

I also thought he had a part in the sending off of Barry.

He does seem a little less excited to be out on the pitch this season. That Stones smile hasn't been out like it was all last season.

  2. Going to be a bit of a novelty for me this game, because I'm laying a wreath for Remembrance Sunday on the pitch before the game, so hopefully get to meet Roberto or a couple of the players!

That's awesome. Enjoy it. Only a bit jealous.

  3.

we haven't won a cup since 95, this is a do or die match, ain't no time to mess about with ossie and leandro. full strength win is a must.

That's why Leandro sits on the bench until we're a goal or two up towards the end of the match. Ossie would be as helpful as Gibbo I think and his experience and link up play would be vital in a match like this. And anyone who is saying they want to see Besic play is not paying attention... still out with an injury.
  4. He should have scored. It wouldn't have taken more than a decent shot.

He should have scored but it wasn't a free header. Climbing on Gabriel there I think.

Don't know why we look dangerous until we concede. Arsenal have been bigged up bug they aren't that good. If teams went for them they will get beat because their back five or six aren't great. We've had a tough first ten games but West Ham have had it worse and look at them. Swansea,Spurs,Liverpool,United, arsenal. Points are there for the taking. Not aggressive enough going forward and we need a striker with pace

Arsenal are not only a good team, they're arguably alongside Man City as title contenders already. Their organization, quality of pressure and quality of passing are all absolutely ridiculous. Gabriel is a very good defender as he showed today and Mertesacker/Kolscieny are MAYBE a step below Jags without the consistent mistakes.

  5. Exciting second half, for sure. Probably should have been about 4-3. Once again our passing accuracy is inaccurate.

Jagielka out for awhile? Barry out for 3?

Barry only out for 1 because it was 2 yellows and not a straight red, right? Still, will be looking forward to see what RM does with no Barry and no Besic to cover.

  6. wow! The keeper can see the WHOLE pitch! Defenders have to turn when a player runs in behind him. Ozils cross landed on the fucking six yard box !!! Howard doesn't fucking move!

Ozil's cross was into no man's land and Howard was on the wrong side of Giroud flying in. He comes out and he likely concedes a penalty.

Cazorla's ball had way too much pace for Howard to have come off his line.

The first Howard MIGHT have been able to do a bit better, but is mostly Jags' fault for poor marking. The second is entirely the fault of the back line.

  7. When Barry has a good game, he is very good. But there is some inconsistency in his game now as he clocks up the miles. Iagree that it would be a good game to start Mirallas. He hopefully feels he has something to prove and should be fresh and sharp. Is Mo injured or could he start instead of Barry?

Besic's still out another week or two I believe. Agree that Barry has showed some fine form in a few games earlier on, but he's been very poor in the last couple matches. McCarthy hasn't been great either, but with the distance those holding mids cover each game, Martinez can't expect to get the best out of them when they're starting every single match.

  8. Would love to see

    Howard

    Galloway, Stones, Jags, Coleman

    McCarthy, Cleverley

    Gery, Barkley, Mirallas

    Lukaku

But I'm sure one of either Kone or Naismith will be involved, Cleverley will start out left instead of Mirallas and Barry will again be in midfield.

  9. Naismith has been utter shit and when I saw the starting XI I was in awe of how Martinez makes some of these decisions. Gery off makes a bit of sense as he looked incredibly forced and did not track back well against Liverpool, but starting Naisy and Lennon together just screams of a lack of creativity that you will always need against Man U.

Mirallas needs to come on in the second half as does Kone and potentially Gery. Take off Naisy, Barry and possibly Lennon. Can't afford to have two holding mids if we're trying to score 2 or 3 goals in a half against Man U.
