Problem is that the real hardmen back then weren't actually great players. You couldn't get away with that now. Plus the fact that players go down so easily now there's no point being a proper hardman cos you wouldn't be on the pitch very long!

They are generally players who have been released by bigger clubs I think, he just lets them play and gives them a chance to fulfil their potential while getting first team experience. A lot probably don't go back to the Premiership but considering the size of the club a phenominal amount do make it. You are right though, he probably wouldn't be suited to a big club now but that doesn't make him any less of a manager.

Alex Ferguson is definately the most successful manager around and its difficult to argue with his record but its not all down to success and trophies. I'd consider Dario Gradi at Crewe to be a very good manager. He's been there since 1983 and produced a hell of a lot of quality players over the years. Crewe aren't a big club but its important to have clubs like that who allow young players to develop, especially with the Premiership how it is these days.

Traore is no way as good as Weir or Stubbs. In fact he's woeful. Better off going for someone like Upson.

He is fast but a bit of a headless chicken and also a bit of an arsehole. Pongolle is fast too and a better finisher but not as strong, though as has been said already he is still young and probably would be cheaper.

Wasn't Moyes supposed to be on the verge of signing Traore in summer 2004? I heard it all was all in motion but then Benitez was told he couldn't buy a replacement so decided to keep him. Pongolle would be a good signing and wasn't he saying good things about Everton and Everton fans a few months back?

The second quote was in answer to someone who took issue with me saying that teams were off form or struggling. That person said that Liverpool were not off form or struggling and I pointed out that they were NOT one of the teams who Everton beat! I stand by the third quote. You still have no evidence Fool.

Was just stating facts, just like I was in the other thread. Never said I thought Crouch was any good, just think he is better at what he does than Beattie. For the record I do think Crouch is a good player actually.

Why the fuck would Crouch need to jump??!! Considering that Beattie is considered a goalscorer and Crouch is considered a second striker Crouch has a better record in terms of goals. Aren't they on about the same this season?

Having looked around a bit, yes I see that now. The thing is that I've been on sites for a few clubs (including Liverpool) and they all tend to get rival fans, and more often than not they are okay. Some of the ones I have seen on this site however are, as you suggest, knobheads. Just here to wind people up. So I can see why you are hostile. However, that was not my intention. I go on various sites because I have a genuine interest and you find out more of the interesting information from the fans. I am sorry if I offended anyone but just got annoyed in the face of abuse.

Okay, well I wasn't MOCKING Everton at all, I was just suggesting an opposing view, admittedly with a slightly flawed argument but was just saying that the fixture computer did do you some favours at this time just like it clearly didn't at the start of the season.
