  1. I think Davey will go experimental (I hear he's got hold of something even more powerful than the stuff that inspired him to put Rodders on the right wing  )....

    Bilyaletdinov

    Yakubu...Osman...Gueye...Fellaini

    Mucha...Distin...Coleman...Neville

    Baines

    Jagielka

Mucha is more effective on the left wing but other than that it looks pretty spot on.

  2. I wouldn't want Arteta there either. I'd play -

    Mucha

    Neville Heitinga Jags Baines

    Coleman Bily Felli Gueye

    Beckford Yakubu

    Or alternatively -

    Mucha

    Neville Heitinga Jags Baines

    Coleman Osman Felli Gueye

    Bily

    Beckford/Yakubu

I had thought about the idea of Bily in the centre but I wasn't sure he'd be of any use in central position in a four man mid. I'd be relativly happy with your second suggestion though. I'd probably plump for Yak starting, get him game time. All well and good getting Becks confidence up by hopefully getting him a goal, but its still against poor opposition. If we play one up front I hope it's Yak.

  3. Looks alright apart from the two defensive midfielders. Do Brentford really require us playnig two defensive midfielders?

I think there is enough creativity there. You can also say "do we really need our best creative outlets to beat Brentford?" Brentford are a very physical team and i'd prefer to match them in the centre. They'd kick lumps out of Arteta and i'd prefer not to risk him there.

I think that Neville needs game time as we've missed his leadership on the pitch and Felli will just dominate that midfield. That'd be why id' play those two in the centre, but I can fully understand why some people would be slightly adverse to it

  4. School boy error Mark :P

But seriously though do people get the impression that Everton have done this because of the poor sales and general dislike of the away shirt? imo. they should use the third instead of the away and use the pink as the 3rd shirt, that way pink is the last resort if we play teams like Wigan?? It would make alot of people very happy to have that shirt as the official away!! :) amazing shirt!

The pink away kit is actually our best selling away kit ever. Well fastest selling anyway. It made profits of around £50k in the first 5 hours it went on sale alone.

  5. I like the look of Barkely from what i've seen. I went to Crewe to see him play for England U19's and he had a touch of quality about him. I'd like to see him involved tonight but not sure starting him would be wise. My team would be

    ----------Mucha

    Coleman Johnny Jags Baines

    Bily Felli Neville Gueye

    -------Yak Beckford

  6. Can he play on the right? All the videos, comments I saw lead me to think he's a center of the park guy. God knows we need another 3-4 of those.

He can play a creative role accross midfield. Not just in the centre. He is a much more creative outlet than we have at the moment, him and Arteta could have done well together. Doesnt really matter though...

  7. 1) What will the outcome of the match be?

I think with both teams previous results in mind that we'll get the win on Saturday, but i don't think it'll be an easy game.

    2) Which player should we fear most?

Mikel Arteta is our most threatening player.

    3) Which player do you fear most?

I fear Kevin Nolan attacking any of our players like he did last time you where in the Prem! As for ability wise i think that Carrol could cause us real problems.

    4) Who is your worst player?

Apart from the game against United, in which he was terrible, Distin has had a good start to the season. Despite this he's still clearly our worst player and a big weak link in the back line.

    5) Who do you judge our worst player to be?

James Perch. Never rated him at Forest and didn't see any logic at all at a Premier League team coming in for him. If we have Pienaar and Baines attacking his wing we could cause him a fair few problems.

    6) Which player should we look out for in the future?

Rodwell is the obvious one and is already on everyone's radars. Out of the players who are not mentioned often I like the look of Magaye Gueye. He's got a touch of class about him and I think that once he adapts to the pace of the league he'll start pushing for a place in our squad. Seamus Coleman is also much touted to become a real class act.

    7) Where do you think you will finish this season?

I think we'll get a European spot. if we can reclaim to the form we had at the end of last year then anything is possible.

8 ) Where do you think Newcastle will finish this season?

I can't see any sort of relegation battle and a comfertable mid-table finish is well within your grasp. Coming back up a year of consolidation is exactly what you need. Players like Tiote and Ben Arfa should add that touch of class to the solid and hardworking group you currently have.

    9) What do you think the Future holds for both clubs?

Long term it's all about money. We'll keep competitn while Moyes is here but once he leaves we'll strugle unless we find investment. You'll establish yourselves within the league again but like us the next step will be near impossible without a large investment.

Have a good one mate and good luck with the season (after this weekend of course though)

  8. And that is the work and graft that makes the real difference to the team, not running after aimless balls down the flanks.

Preciesly. I had a bit of a ding dong argument with someone in the stands on Saturday about this. He was saying he was overly lazy, I was saying he was using his movement inteligently. Huge difference.

  9. He's a class keeper. Unfortunatly, prone to make the odd mistake but many many keepers are. He maed some howlers for Spain but he's playing in front of an unfamiliar defence to him. I always like to see him making mistakes becasue of the club and country he plays for but i think it's hard to argue that he's not one of, if not the, best keeper in the Premier League. He hasn't been near the top of clean sheet records for the last few years for no reason. Unfortunatly.

  10. I saw that as well. Vidic is such a pussy. He dishes it out but can't take it. He'll never become a truly world class player if he keeps letting players get under his skin so easily. He's very close, but with his temprament he's just a step away from being considered truly great. Cahill always manages to wind him up and he has nightmares just thinking about Torres.

Talking about elbows, did anyone see Scholes elbow, on Arteta or Cahill can't quite remember, in the first half. Went totally unpunished, happend right in front of me though and it seemed to go un-noticed. I think it was Arteta, but cant be sure as the days becoming a bit of a blur now.

  11. This HAS to be our first win of the season. No excuses. It won't be an easy game but it's one that we simply have to take three points from.

Alot of people will be calling COleman to start but he'll no doubt play the full 90 midweek in the reserves so i'd still use him as an impact player for this game. As long as he keeps getting little jaunts then he'll keep improving but lets not expect too much too soon, especially if he's most likely going to have completed a 90 prior in the week. I would however try out the Jags and Johnny partenership in central defence.

    ----------Howard----------

    Hibbert Jags Johnny Baines

    ----------Felli-----------

    Bily----- Arteta ----Pienaar

    -------Cahill-------------

    ------------Yakubu--------

  12. This was a tricky one.

I very nearly gave it to the man mountain and defensive rock Distin... only joking.

It was a toss up between Howard and Pienaar and it would have been easy to give it to either, I plumped for Howard though. His amazing saves kept us in the game and while Pienaar dynamism really helped Howard was a class above.

  13. Own up! Did anyone leave early on Saturday and miss the fight back?

I'll tell you my match day experience (I didn't miss any of it by the way). I'm sat up in the upper main stand, seat next to me is not a season ticket held seat so the occupant changes week on week. This week I had the pleasure of a complete cretin sat next too me. From the first minute he was hurling abuse at both sets of players, the ref and both managers. I've never heard an Everton fan call Moyes a cunt more than this idiot. The constant swearing and the volume of him was starting to get on my wick, however I had to laugh when he went to the bar early at half time missing our first and United's equasliser. He also came back to his seat late and missed United's second. He did see Berbatov's goal but with ten minutes to go of the game, with us trailing 1-3, he turned to me and said "I'm off, and you're a fucking mug for staying any longer to watch this shower of shit".

So somehow in a game of six goals this chap managed to miss five of them. What's the point of going to the game if you miss so much of the match? Why leave early to save 5 minutes on your journey time. We score so many late goals, i just don't see the point. Ah well, everyone still there had the last laugh. Hopefully people will have learnt there lessons now.

  14. I was impressed with him. He get's labelled as lazy but it's easy to over look how much his off the ball movement helps us, just becasue he's not an "AJ style headless chicken run run run...." style player he gets called lazy. His off the ball movement was brilliant though, he kept dropping out wide which pulled the two central defrender apart which in turn allowed Cahill to get into more threatening positions. It's very easy to forget just how good Yak was.
