  1. Having missed out on Gonzalez, David Moyes is now ready to turn his attentions to Middlesbrough striker Yakubu and Benfica midfielder Manuel Fernandes.

A host of clubs including Real Madrid, Valencia and Manchester City also held an interest in the highly-influential Gonzalez but the Toffees were hopeful their bid - thought to be for £11million - would get the deal done.

However Porto have instead moved to secure Gonzalez's long-term future by spending 6.5million euros on the 50% of his rights they didn't already own.

And Wednesday's newspapers reckon Toffees boss David Moyes has now switched his sights to Yakubu and Fernandes.

Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate is reportedly confident of keeping his Nigerian striker but Moyes reckons a bid of £11million - big enough to break Everton's transfer record - could be too good to turn down.

Fernandes, meanwhile, impressed while on loan at Goodison Park last season but Moyes was put off by his £12million price tag.

But Benfica have apparently now indicated they are willing to do business at a lower price, thought to be around the £8million mark.

That would be great business but were is the £19mil gona come from?

  2. Set fire to the grass to the east of you, blows east until it runs out of island then the fire coming from the west has nothing to burn. Then barbeque a shark, invite round some natives, sink some fermented coconut milk and have a party :D .

    spot on :thumbsup_still: :thumbsup_still:

  3. Ino its a bit pathetic but i want to see if any of you guys can get this. I couldnt get it and it did me head in - until me mate tld me.

Ryt theres an island and theres a fire on it. The aim is to save the man from dieing.

The wind is blowing west so the fire is spreading towards the man. You cant jump in the water because then you get eatan by the sharks.

You cant splash water on the fire because your hand will get bitten by the sharks

The fire is burning on dead grass and dead grass only. Eventually the fire will reach you and burn you.

    HOW DO YOU SURVIVE?

  4. Boro have apparently had a 2.5 mil offer accepted for him.

I think we should be trying to sign him if hes going for that much. If i remember rightly it wasnt long ago that Nevile was being linked with a move away for 3.2 mil.

If we sold Neville and bought Young we would be signing a younger better player and making 700k profit!

Also with Jagelka likly to be playing CB when Yobo is away then that means we have Hibbert. I normally like Hibbert but he was SHIT against PNE wednesday.

  5. ]AS for ours, 2 things; 1) Why havent there been seats incorporated into the corners, isnt that a waste of space?

If the corners were filled the capacity would be 60,000. We propbaly woulodnt fill that so we go with 50,000. with the OPTIION to expand to 60,000 by filling in the corners.

AND 2) How do we all feel about naming rights, do we want to sell out and be the next Emirates/Reebok/JJB. Seeing as (if we moved) we would be moving away from the Walton/Everton area thus in a way slightly losing our identity with the place I would hope we somehow use the name Everton or Goodison along with the new sponsor (dont ask me how exactly).

Does the money that would come in with naming rights outweigh dignity?

Personly i would like the new stadium to be named "new Goodison" but the stadium will probaly be named by some company - for the simple reason it brings in more money

  6. Can't believe no-one's even mentioned (as far as I can see) McFadden, who's goal against Charlton got us into the position we're in. If he hadn't scored that winner we'd be even more miserable bastards than we already are contemplating a season of domestic mediocrity and struggling (even more than we are) to attract any new players. Also Ossie, who I know people don't rate but for me was a consistent performer (player of the year voting backs that up) and still improving.

What about a bit of loyalty to the players who got us where we're at?

I understand what your saying but i think we should always play are best possible starting 11. And IMO Ossie and Mcfadden dont fit into my "best starting 11"
