  1. would love this lad here but according to this website west ham are in for him (like every player we are after in the papers)

    http://football-forever.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32219

I'm fed up reading about West Ham linking themself with every player ever registered to the Premiership. Doesn't seem to matter if they actually put a bid in, some spokesperson comes out and declares they're in for him anyway. I hope they spend up and go down next season.

  2. Considering the amount of money we are getting off the tv deal this year we should be spending at least 25 million on pushing on and challenging along with spurs trying to break down the 4th spot. But once again the rumours are theres no money - so where the fuck is it going?

The debts are consolidated against our gate receipts and even if you factor us paying off the remaining cash for Lescott, Howard and AJ that leaves a lot of money unacounted for. Apart from the usual black hole that seems to exist at boardroom level I'm starting to think it's all being tucked away for the stadium move.

  3. Time will only tell, but one things for sure they aren't in it for the love of the game. It's purely business, we have already seen the Eto deal shelved and that was Benitez first choice signing now we hear Forlan's name mentioned  . I don't believe they will spend enough this window to push Liverpool into title contenders and Benitez will walk for Real Madrid before the seasons out.

  4. I think if we struggle next season the majority will turn on Kenwright forcing his hand to sell. Moyes is keeping him almost free of pressure at the moment by exceeding expectations again. The fact we are receiving 40 million + TV rights, plus high season ticket sales of 13-15M and claiming poverty on a player costing only 4 shows how much leeway Kenwrights been given.

  5. that's why we need investment, our defence = fine...strikeforce = fine given the service ... we jsut need creativity and intelligence

I agree we do desparately need more composure in the middle (manny for another 12 months + a winger) but it's no use if hibbo and naysmith boot it over them. I really don't think our defence is fine, our defensive record was 5th best in the league but thats because we make our midfield play in a defensive role for large periods of the game. As mentioned our fullbacks and stubbs nearly always hit the long ball regardless of pressure. Moyes obviously is happy for this to happen or he would put a stop to it. Carsley and Neville are also poor in possession but at least sometimes play intelligent passes.

  6. True, he surrounds himself in safety. Robert Earl is one of his old mates, we won't see a penny out of him and he's never gonig to oust Bill. Then money has been gong missing from our club for a very long time and yet the debt seems to remain the same or get worse.

Moyes is keeping his chairman almost free of enquirey at the minute even though no money's being invested. The TV income has come in at a nice time to hide the financial inadequacies of Kenwright.

  7. One of the most under rated players in the Premiership. He's been one of the most consistant midfielders in the last few years, propper grafter and scores goals for fun. He'd fit in great but I know people would prefer to see us get Fernandes if it was either or. We've been without any real flair in the team for so long it's understandable, it would be nice to see some flowing football for a change.

  8. Jacklez Phil played center midfield most of the season so how can that certify that

I didn't say distribution, if u meant his crossing I meant it was better than Phil's

Im not going to argue about this, everyone will realise how shite Neville is next season when he plays over Hibbo.

Well one's got nearly 60 full England caps and one's got none so I think few managers with far more experience would disagree. The distribution point was not related to your post, Hibbert's crossing is marginally better if he's near the by-line but the amount of time he gives away posession far outweighs that. I have seen enough of both players to make that judgement, there won't be any suprises for me next season.

Apart my personal opinion, he finished 4th top in the Actim defenders and 27th overall best Premiership player. That's not just scored on goals/assists/clean sheets, it's tackles, clearances, runs, crosses, contribution.

    Top 5 Premiership Defenders 2006/7

Name Index Score Overall Index Rank Team

    1 steve finnan 469 19 Liverpool

    2 ricardo carvalho 463 23 Chelsea

    3 rio ferdinand 461 26 Manchester United

    4 phil neville 454 27 Everton

    5 kolo toure 454 28 Arsenal

  9. lol I seem to agree with u alot on here lad

Tony Hibbert is a better right back than Phill Neville IMO.

Tackling Heading Marking Anticipation and even Crossing. All what a right back needs Tony does better, maybe his crossing isn't best sometimes but it has improved alot.

Sounds like you've been playing too much Football Manager. Hibbert's distribution is diabolical, he always opts for the direct/long ball even when he's not under pressure.

  10. Spurs are the most self deluded fans in the league, whining cunts who are so far beind their local rivals Arsenal they look for anything to perpetuate the myth they were once great.

This was a classic little nugget of wisdom

They were challenging for trophies and rather fortunately piped us to the title back in 1987 where we were forced to concede it - victims of a crippling fixture pile up.
This is the year they finished 3rd - 15 points behind us, the closest they have been to the title in the last twenty years I should add.

If you compare Everton’s current situation to ours at Tottenham it is like night and day. With the exception of Arteta I can’t think of any of the clubs players that would get into our starting X1

Mmm lets see: Including Arteta who he generously conceded, Johnson, Cahill, Lescott, Yobo, Howard (Miles better than Robinson last year) would all walk into their side as would Fernandes.

Things are a mess and as for you array of young players like Vaughn and Emile Heskey II there is no one pushing through to what can only be described as best an average first XI
The fact he's comparing Anichebe to Heskey shows he knows fuck all about football.

Everton is wasting away despite obvious talents of David Moyes

Yea that's what we're doing finishing 4th and 6th in the last 3 years...

It begs the original question what the hell has been going on there since they last won the title 20yrs ago this year?
OR it begs the question what have the hell have Tottenham been doing for 46 years (1961) when they last won the title.

Is it just down to a lack of investment? The constant buying of average players?

Another quality comment considering the amount of money Spurs have thrown away. Rebrov for 11mil, Helder Postiga £6.5M, Ben Thatcher 5.5m, Dean Richards 8.5m (remember him? ) the list of shite goes on thats just some of the expensive cockups. Taricco, Freund, Perry, Bunjevcevic, Doherty, Pamarot, Ricketts...on and on and on.

    League Titles

    Everton: 9

Tottenham: 2 - Last league title won in 1961

What a load of BOLLOCKS that article is.

    post-1784-1181432398_thumb.jpg

  11. He has no interest in signing for us or anyone else in the Premiership and Wolves would be looking for around 3 mil which would probably scare Moyes off in any case.

    From sporting life:

Wolves winger Michael Kightly - linked with Aston Villa and Everton - has revealed he will sign a new deal by the end of the month.

Weekend reports suggested the former Grays player could move to the Barclays Premiership - but Kightly is hoping to sign another contract at Molineux this summer.

He told www.expressandstar.co.uk: "I'm not looking to sign for Aston Villa or Everton - I feel I owe the supporters and the manager at Wolves a big debt for the chance they gave me," said Kightly.

"Speculation is just part and parcel of football, but there is nothing in this.

"I've said on numerous occasions I want to sign a new contract and I can't see any reason why it won't happen in the next few weeks.

"Jez Moxey (Wolves chief executive) spoke to my agent this morning and I'll be happy to sign - my aim is to be in the Premiership with Wolves.

"We've not spoken about the length of the contract yet, but I'm keen to sign - whether it is four years or an even longer deal."

Mick McCarthy led Wolves to the Coca-Cola Championship play-offs this season - but local rivals West Brom ended their hopes of a move up to the top flight of English football.

But Kightley added: "Hopefully signing the deal will show I'm committed to the club and want to play a big part next season - and put an end to the speculation.

  12. Moyes is offering Naysmith at £1.75m as a part excahnge for Jagielka (typical Everton) and there is some haggling over our valuation. Everton rarely pay outright for a player, we barter them down and pay in installments with future revenues counted in. With Boro and Wigan offering more money and no doubt wages, we have to rely our better league position and European qualification to win him over.

  13. Bookies have stopped taking bets on him joing the shiote. Lots of rumours going round he's joining them

Dont believe it myself like, and i dont think he would join another Prem club if he was to leave the gunners, Barca or AC Milan maybe.

Even more rediculous than the AJ story. Lazy journalists trying to sell papers.

  14. Actually Moyes got it wrong as evidenced by the statement made by the WHU chairman who says he is mates with Kenwright and that there has been no approach for any of our players.

As for them being a two-bit shitty relegation bound club - if we had played like them the last 10 games of the season we would be in the Champions league! They did the double over MAN U and Arsenal last season

Big fucking deal, every team outside of the bottom 3 has a good spell it's being able to do it consistantly that gets you into Europe and YES they were in the relegation zone for 90% of the season. As for their Man U scalp Ferguson had no interest in that game and was resting his players ahead of the final. They aren't on the same level as Everton, current squad or past history.

Most top premiership players are already affluent enough to put success above money in priority, so why would they look twice at that shite club? If it was Man U, Chelsea, Barca, AC Milan I'd be concerned, but all the WH fans and lazy bastard journos getting themself into a frenzy about it happening is a joke.

  15. As much as I dislike McFadden eratic performances, his goal for me was spectacular and should win the award. The skill to dink it over the defender before he volleyed it places it over the competition, I never get tired of seeing it. If it had been scored by Rooney or Henry we'd never hear the end of it.

  16. The last couple of years have seen simular statements ie that we cant move forward, with

Bill and or Moyes in charge of Everton!!...Well last season to me was a step forward.

BK brought in Moyes....he in turn has got us away from the bottom end of the prem. He's

built a team that most teams reguard as a massive win if they beat us!So I say lets just

keep the faith in those two....for now!

He did bring in Moyes yes and it will undoubtebly be written into his legacy as a masterstoke of epic proportion as apose to an unwittingly good punt. This is the same guy who felt the need to appologise to Walter Smith before sacking him. The Armani clad Smith who had us languishing in the relegation zone year in year out and then refused calls for his resignation so he could take his bumper pay off. Following his golden goodbye Bk he asked him for ideas on a replacement, and the rest is history.

I have always said the one good thing Kenwright did was employ Moyes and passively let him get on with it but I think that is the only way bk knows. When we need action, investment, drive to push on - it's nowhere to be seen.

I attribute Everton's success to Moyes dogged determination and ambition to prove himself not Bk's cheerleading from the sideline hoping things keep going well. God help us if we ever reach a point where they don't.

Breaking into the top four oligopoly is impossible now without a huge cash injection or one of those teams going into complete meltdown. We have come as far as we can go, so are we happy drawing the top of our table at 5th spot? Even that will be extremely hard with the likes of Newcastle, Man City and Villa due to invest heavily.

  17. I think Kenright would be extremely offended by that, hes puplically stated that he has not took a penny out of Everton and he pays his way everywhere

Not neccassaraly you, but I can see why there is all this anti BK brigade

Be very afraid of what you wish for

To be honest Zed, I couldnt give two flying fucks what Kenright thinks of my comments, he's an actor by profession if you want to believe what he says, your choice.

We never going to get any further forward with BK at the helm and for absolute certainty it will become a LOT harder to consolidate with the amount of investment going into the 'tier-two' Premiership teams.

  18. BKs position is safe for now, he's brought us stability and got us into a position where we are expecting European qualification next year instead of a relegation scrap. That said, he has not invested his own money to get us there and we have no chance of breaking the top 4 without a serious investment. He is making a living off Everton at the moment not bringing anything to the table. I dare say if we had finished in the bottom half of the league this year he would have had to go, Moyes has been his saving grace (Walter Smith's recommendation), he's has kept BK in a job with no money. I personally don't believe Bill will sell in the next five years no matter what and has already rebuffed many potential suitors on the quiet.

  19. do you mean the black "IT" girl

Im going off it already, it cerainly hasnt got me gripped, too many vaccuous air heads and im not supprise tracy was crying (if thats her name) allthough she say PHAT MAN, she seems like the most rounded individual in there

That's what I've been thinking, very poor effort from the casting producers this year. It's like the've said "lets take our biggest ratings grabber of the last eight years - Jade Goody, and fill the house with them. Far too many pre meditated desperate bimbo's who think they're bound for stardom. Charlie (the unemployed wannabe IT girl whos name droppped her cousin twice already) said on the 1st night "are you here to get famous? - I am and I'm not going to lie abuot it". When in actual fact they'll be on the front cover of Nuts for a couple of weeks then fade away into obscurity.

  20. Money-bags West Ham move for Everton's Cahill

    tribalfooball.com - May 31, 2007

West Ham United are chasing Everton midfielder Tim Cahill.

Hammers boss Alan Curbishley has over £40 million to spend and wants to bring former Millwall favourite Cahill back to London this summer.

Curbishley appears to have lost out to Newcastle in the battle for another Australian, Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka. It was reported West Ham were prepared to hand Viduka an £85,000-a-week deal to come to Upton Park.

Load of crap but worth a mention.
