  1. Did anyone else think Vaughan was awesome (again!!)...! Wish the season didn't have to end but he is looking very, very good. Exciting lineups next season with Johnson & Vaughan & Anchiebe...

Agree we were robbed, if it wasn't for Drogba they would not have scored!

  2. i think you find they do. remember villerreal? bucerest? pretty sure they played that game.

i know they havent played alot of european football but neither did shrek, what did he do on his european début? scored a fucking hat-trick (the twit)

So playing in 1 - 4 games in Europe counts as "experience". Hmmmm so Nugent played and scored against Man City in the cup so he is 100% ready for the premiership as he has played 1 game against a premiership team and scored!

Unfortunately Shrek is not a normal player, he is in a different league...shame he didn't break a leg instead of scoring on his début...

  3. Nugent does not have Europe experience

Neither does Johnson, neither does Vaughan, neither does Anchiebe, neither does Cahill, neither does Lescott, neither does Yobo....etc etc....get off the "no Europe experience" band wagon, Nugent is an England international now and is much better for the money than most Strikers out there.....

  4. It says on the everton website that we have been linked to owen. I never knew this his name hasnt even been metioned on here so were has the story come from?? Anyway would you take owen over bent defoe or nugent?

I would take Nugent over the aging and over the hill Owen anyday. Owen though he was the big I am, went to Spain and became a nobody...guess what, he is still a nobody and can't see why he is in the England squad when he has not played for donkey years!!

  5. If we don't buy him and he goes to Newcastle etc one of two things will happen,he will either go

on to become an international player and his price will double or he will burn out in a blaze of

    publicity!........

Look at Scot Parker, supposidly the next big star turned us down for Newcastle and he has done what...? Let Newcastle have Barton, they will need him after Owen does a bunk this summer....

  6. but with Nuge he does bring a bigger risk to the transfer

    ......Cahill.....Lescott......

Moyes has a nack of spotting quality players from the Championship and I do not think bringing an England International to Everton is a risk! Nugent is the future (only 21!!) and will play well with Anchiebe, Vaughan and Johnson....BTW I think Vaughan is possibly going to be a bigger star than Nugent but just my opinion......

  7. As a team yes...but a lot of behind the scenes work has gone in, Wyness has done wonders!

BUT we need a new modern stadium, Goodison Park just isn't up to it anymore no matter what people say about history etc. It is a shame the dock side build never materialised as that would have been amazing...but the club as a whole needs to modernise.

But yes, I think players are now seeing that Everton is going places. A good signing like AJ has helped too...roll on Nugent!

  8. I think personnally Nugent is all but a done deal - I expect him in a blue shirt next season for a fee of around £5M.

I am all for buying a decent player who is just aching to put a Everton shirt on - You can't say that about many players.

Agree, Nugent wants to play (like Johnson said he did) for Everton so that is incentive enough to get the player in. Nugent being a blue (his dad lives near me :) ) is also good.....I think his price is going to be £7m though because so many clubs are interested in him...

  9. I think we have Fernandes but can't imagine his price would be more than £6m - he is still unproven so don't think his price tag is that high yet.

Oh and as for the Gerrard comparisons....Gerrard is in a different league to Fernandes, Gerrard commands the midfield and can alter games, I can't see Fernandes being that type of player Fernandes likes to be more skillfull and attacking. I think Fernandes is going to be world class, just not Gerrards type of world class.

  10. Think we will be sweating on AJ for this one, fingers crossed he is fit.

Looking forward to seeing Vaughan in action too...think Vaughan has stolen Anchiebe's limelight.

Oh and as for Beattie...no way, besides I am going to lock him in my cellar just in case Moyes gets the urge to play him...
