  1. the more promising youngsters at everton the better, the future is looking good for us blue boys, but to take us to the next level we do desperately need some investment

Well probiding they stay with us! Look at Mark Hughes, I saw him play a few times for the reserves and he was a rock solid centre back but we let him go...we bought Scott Spencer a promising young striker who is struggling in the academy/reserves.

Achiebe and Vaughan seem the most promising...also keep an eye out for Agard, he is doing very well lets hope there is room for another young forward and we don't let him go!

  2. Spoken to Mark on MSN about this, I feel the deal has been done already. He is ours and everyone in football knows it.

    ATB

    Mac

There were a couple of rumours in January of a "pre-signing" deal being done providing Preston don't get promoted but never really heard much more on it. I guess he will go anyway if Preston don't get promoted, to us or another club...

  3. To those of you who don't think we have had value for money in paying £8.6M for AJ with a return of 13 goals. Now many lost causes has AJ chased down that have resulted in a goal, or a free kick, a throw in or corner that have resulted in a goal, how many times has he streached and pressureised opossition defences that have lead to us scoring. How many times have we won penelites from his penetration in to the box. How many penelities SHOULD we have had from his penetration in to the box. AJ really keeps opossition defences on there toes for 90 minutes.

Don't know off the top of my head but please feel free to provide the stats...at the end of the day, a striker is about goals. Look at Drogba 30+ goals and I don't think he is the best in the world but he gets goals which gets the headlines and wins the games.

Johnson is 100 times better than BT but still think there are better goal scorers out there, a goal scorer is what we need.

  4. So long as we make a profit I would sell him.

Was very excited at the start of the season but just look back at pre-season...Anchiebe was scoring for fun and Johnson couldn't score. Anchiebe hasn't had the chance he deserves and Vaughan is looking awesome...so sell Johnson for £10+ and Beattie for 50p and get in Nugent and a high profile goal scorer, someone like Defoe and then we have 4 very good stikers IMO. Johnson wouldn't be missed...

  5. Hmmmm, not sure on McFadden. I am a big fan of his but when you compare him to Anchiebe and AJ is he nowhere near their talent. Plus, if I was McFadden I would be looking at who is likely to start up front....IMO not McFadden, plus he hasn't signed his contract. I get the feeling he might be gone by end of August (I hope not though).

  6. No way he would go for more than say £8m if he did go. Although he is exceptional, he is spanish...english players seem to carry a premium.

Plus that fact Arteta wouldn't go anywhere, you only have to watch his interviews to see he loves the club. And already mentioned, Moyes would be left with a big gap in midfield.

lol this is like the cahill rumour all over again....

  7. Just because he was out partying does mean he was Drinking

So the fact the one person in the Everton squad who has constant rumours of alcoholism just so happens to be the one with his "drink spiked". Me thinks alcohol is taking its toll on andy and he needed an excuse for how drunk he got....if the story turns out to be true then fair enough but personally I am waiting for the "Andy admitted to clinic" post of the OS.

  8. im just hopeing he is what we all want :) hopefully big duncs replacement but not in the fighting type ;)

lol yeah...was talking about this yesterday with friends, he is a big guy but doesn't seem to foul at all just uses his strength to shrug off defenders.

A very bright prospect for Everton indeed...just hope he stays loyal to the club that has nurtured him from a young age....the way Everton is heading I can't see why he would want to leave us.

  9. I said it all last season after seeing him quite a few times for reserves and I am pleased I am right....Anchiebe is going to take preiership by storm this season.

Take last night for example, he has a back problem so only limited to 45 mins and he scores...he is big, strong can hold off defenders, can run and can shoot - he is not shy to shoot either!

I really do think Anchiebe is going to muscle Beattie out of his position...

  10. South African international Delron Buckley is hoping he did enough to impress Everton during a recent trial with the club.

The 28-year-old featured for the Toffees against Preston and Celtic during the pre-season, but has now returned to his club side Borussia Dortmund.

"I have loved it at Everton," he told Kick-Off magazine. "The guys have made me feel very comfortable here and the team plays to my style.

"I am hoping and praying I get offered a deal. Mentally it would be a very good move for me."

But he has gone to America with the squad so hasn't gone home.

I reckon Moyes is going to keep him....lets face it we have Killa who isn't that good and a drunk to play on the left side so Buckley should fill that gap nicely.
