  1. Howard - he's very good. does whats needed and very solid, however there are a few inconsistencies that stop him being top TOP class. high hopes for him though C+ Wessels - Backup, looks like James Blunt 'nuff said. D Hibbert - he an honest player who loves the club... but if we wanna progress he has to be replaced...a good squad player. C- Yobo - fantastic centre back for 85 minutes a match...gaurented to have a brain fart though, we just have to prey it dosnt cause a goal. still young for a defender and deffintly getting better all the time. B Jagielka - fantastic defender, always in the right place at the right time (still you dont have to hoof it every time phil) totally deserves his england call up A- Lescott - Player of the season, another Moysey gem. hope Man U keep thier grubby hands off him. A* Baines - cant say from this season due to injury but the quality is there hopefully he will play a bit more next season C- Neville - great captain, average player... humm dilemma. C Carsley - go ead my son. the iron every team needs in thier midfield (and he didnt cost £18Million either Rafa) a great servant for the club but that postion does need to be filled by younger shoes. dont wanna see him leave the club though (out to pasture rather then the glue factory hehe) A- Fernandes - humm jury is out... £4 million or below do it, anything above go swing for it. D+ Gravesen - they say never go back true in tommy's case..but we still love you mate xx D+ Arteta - one of our best players however a shocking 2nd half of the season, hopefully that will put off the clubs courting him...vital for next season as long as he gets back to his pre crimbo form. (before crimbo A+, after crimbo D+) B- Peinaar - major success. and a bargian too, hopefully he will grow next season... bargain. A- Osman - quietly turning into one of our best players, a shot only bettered by the yak and deserves an england call up soon. A+ Cahill - simple rule... with Cahill we are awesome. without we struggle (most of the time). is it any coincedence our amazing form srated when he returned from injury? cover him in bubble wrap next season if we want any chance of finishing 4th or above. A+ Anichebe - at first i thought he was a heskey clone (remember when he burst on the scene for liecester) but slowley being turned around. needs to kick a ball at a brick wall for a few hours a day to work on that finish though. B Vaughan - coulda been the next Owen but looks like he's made of glass. heres hoping for an injury free season so he can develop abit more. C- Johnson - dont care what people are saying over all hes a better player then the yak. honest and hard working, once he gets his eye back in and refs stop treating him like an argentinian on speed then he will get back to his best. this season....C+ Yakubu - a flawed genius. how can a player do nothing for so much of a game yet bang in 21 a season... sod it he can sit on his arse for all i care just keep puttin them in the back of the net. A- Moyes - in my opinion only behind Fergie and Wenger in terms of talent. he is the most important member of the club and must be kept at all costs Are you listening Bill and Keith the flowerpot men? every mistake he makes he learns from and we get better every season. if he had the resources the spanish waiter has had we would be challenging for the league... nuff said. A* and contender for manager of the season again.
  2. could never slag kenright off, he has the clubs best intrests at heart and has taken us from the brink of championship oblivion to here. but with all the teams around us having these MASSIVE influx's of resourses we are in trouble. the lastest name to be linked with manc city Ronaldinho! for god sake (paper talk i know but you know they have a bottomless pit as far as money is concerned) west ham spending like no tommorw, spurs having cash AND a great manager (deffinatly going to be back in amongst it after this season) we need the resourses to match our mangers ambitions. (however i think 2 american geezers who might be looking for a club in the summer can steer well clear of us hehe)
  3. Hi everyone, just thought I'd make this post as a proud landmark happened at the weekend, I took my son to experience Goodison for the 1st time. Many thanks to one of the girls in the box office who gave up her tickets so we could sit in the family enclosure. again proof that we are the peoples club. a great day was had even though we didn't get the win that would have been nice hehe [/img]
  4. i was having the same conversation today in work, its a dilema coz i think phil is a great servant to the club. his experience and level head are just what you want in a captian but on the pitch he is just not good enough, esp in the midfield role the score in the brann game masked his trully awful performance, he wasn't even close to competeing against Foirentina either but he is hard working and a great example to the other members of the squad and do we really want to be the kind of club that dumps on its 'worthy' players.
  5. charlie ton, again i'm not trying to turn this into a flame post (even though you stopped reading a quater of the way through and called my opinon shite) when i said negative football I'm talking about champions league not your boltons, west hams and derbys, if a team as expensivly put together as liverpool are, had to play ten men behind the ball counter attacking football against any team outside the BIG 3 then there are bigger problems then you 1st thought. and if you had bothered to read my post then you would have seen i was critical about the Moyseier too. but no doubt you will just hurl some more abuse swear at me and maintian that next year the premiership is going to be yours, (i have two RS brothers... heart breaking for my poor old dad :-( ) and to show im not being a complete anti liverpool person today, heres a statment, I'm worried, the only club that was capable of 100% beating liverpool in the CL just got knocked out by Arsenal. someone better pull there finger out and do the RS in the next round!
  6. it would be nice to have a debate with RS fans rather then just start flaming each other (from what i can see blues are just as responcible for that as RS) i would like to go back to the manager issue.... Moyes Vs Rafa looking at trophies won then you cant argue with facts Benetez has got more in the bank. however resources wise Benetez has pretty much had an open chequebook since he moved to Pool, the minute the book is closed (after spending ALOT of cash in the summer i might add) he throws his teddies and starts a media campaign against the owners (which believe me if you think the man is inocent in all this then you have fallen for the spin). Benetez has turned liverpool into a brilliant CUP TEAM and nothing more. he has taken Liverpools tenants of flowing quick football (and it pains me to say it esp around fellow blues) honrable activity off the pitch (community/bootroom yadayadayada) and turned them into a team thats 'hard to beat'. negitive counter attacking football that relies apon the brilliance of two or three outstanding performers (not mentioning any names lets call them, Serrard, Forres and Jarriger) not wanting to do down the achivement of winning the CL (i would seel my soul for the blues to win it) but at the end of the day it IS just a cup compition. ask a Red to look through the bs. forget the champs league achivements and look at the team, the way they play and the off the field actions of its staff and honestly tell me thay are happy with it. Liverpools mediocracy has been papered over with a 'roy of the rovers' style cup win (i still maintain pool are the worst team to win the compition since Steaua Bucerest paid of the referee) and the fact that they have one of the top 5 footballers in the world who would take a bullet for the club if he had too. now lets take a look at Moyes. Young and unproven manager really cutting his teeth in the premiership in his early years. his tactical niaveity was one of the reasons we were such a yoyo team. however what do you expect from a man finding his feet in the worlds best league. every mistake Moyes has made he has learned from and he has turned his team into the genuine article. yes we rely on main stay players too however they have all been brought in by the manager so can you really hold that against him (unlike the inhearited class benetez is using, and i know he brought Torres but if you pay £26mil for a guy you expect him to be good) Moyes has made mistakes in the transfer market but his dimonds more then make up for it. lescott jagielka arteta cahill fenades pienaar yakubu (half the price of the spanish hairdresser and only 3 goals less, do the math) make no mistake this is Moyes team. he has used the best tactics avialible to him, the negitive football thrown out of the window as soon as he was able to do so) he has done it on a shoe string (in premiership terms) budget. unlike pool we have goals coming from all over the pitch and that is testiment to the playing style and confidence everton have, and yes 4th place will be a tough ask but that is the very least pool would have expected at the begining of the season and they are fighting tooth and nail for it, we seem to be going out and calmly taking teams apart. and my final point, a quote from the commentator during the Goodison derby... 'if liverpool win this they will have done it inspite of Benetez not because of him' have you ever heard that spoken because of DM?
  7. even if sir paul was on the board you don't think the misrable old codger would let go of his wallet for a second do you hehe
  8. the players need to get hold of that pic....photocopier and a big ball of blue tac down on finch farm hehe
  9. sense of humour failure... fifa will waste time on this while endemic racism in Europe will go on unabated... spanish police will carry on with there disgusting violent behavour and the italian ultras will continue to intimidate away fans
  10. I'm all for a shared super stadium, about colours, the Allienz Arena in Munic Changes colour whoever is playing there, red for Bayern and blue for 1860, its a fantastic idea. to give up the rights to the city is a traversty and after seeing the mock up pictures for kirkby it renforces my view even more (there are people with shopping trollies in front of the stadium for christs sake) let other teams sell thier souls for big industrial park stadiums, everton (and hell i'll say it LIVERPOOL) have a greater history then 99% of clubs in the WORLD not only England. please do not sell out for the promise of a knockdown priced TESCO annex.
  11. Ok this thread might sound pretty dumb but I just wanna say it. I would like to thank the players, Bill Kenwright and especially David Moyes. I have been an Evertionian since I could walk, my dad took me to see us lift the trophy in 87 and I have been addicted ever since. I'm a proud Everton fan and always have been, but this season I feel a different kind of pride... going into the Man City game, they were on form, taking Man U apart, one of the best home records in the league, but I knew, I KNEW we were going to win, our players would go out and do the business... this is the best Everton team I have ever seen, the way they play, the individual talent, the team work and I would like to stand up an appluad Davie Moyes for what he has done to our club. bringing in skill, attacking prowess and rock solid defence. I am truly proud of the boys this season. more goals scored then the shite. better football then the shite. when i see us taking teams apart and look over the park and see Beneathus playing 10 men behind the ball and hoofing it to gerrad/torres then you see us, real style, goals from all over the pitch, it truly does bring a smile to my face. (as soon as we realize that we can hold our own with the 'big 3' then we can move to an even bigger stage). k you lot can take the piss if you want but I wanted it said. thank you, thank you so much, the term 'School of Science' has never been more apt.
  12. i noticed the Brann coverage too. we put 6 past the norwegen champions and only get an after thought review, yes it pisses me off but hey, if we keep putting in the performances and getting results i kinda like being the dark horse noone notices untill its too late and we have the UEFA cup in our hands!!!
  13. [unable to secure the player to a contract due to technicalities over third party ownership] yeah right all that got thrashed out, he got a 'better offer' at the 11th hour and fecked off so sorry guys as good as he is (and he was fantastic) he's a fly by night merc and he can go feck himself
  14. i agree west ham arnt exactly 'A' Class. but they have what we dont... wheel barrows full of disposable cash! I just hope in AJ's case he follows through with the loyalty pledges he has flashed this season and Arteta....well lets hope the lure of european football can divert his eyes from the £80k a week he'll be guarenteed at Upton park. and hey if Sean Bean pulls off some 'sharpe like' herioics for Sheff Utd when he meets the fa this week the dirty cheating southern scummers might get those deducted points they SOOOO deserved and we dont need to worry. .:Tomo:.
  15. never thought id come down on the side of RS fans but im with them in part on this. not just liverpool fans but all english fans are demonized in the press and treated like animals by foriegn police. itailans, spanish dutch and pretty much all of eastern european football rampage, maim, kill(hello italy) throw racist chants and nothing is done (a few fines thrown about here and there). Man U fans in rome, Spurs fans in Spain and RS fans in athens (lets face it boys and girls if you had a genuine ticket and were turned away at the entrance to the champions league final i think you'd kick off too). how ever you must also take into account the scumbags and chancers who blaged thier way into the game (pathetic security by the greeks) causing the problems in the 1st place. bottom line.. dont jump on the fans of our B@$!@£d offspring accross the park because you never know when it will be our turn to be the scape goats of a useless, unorganized and downright corrupt governing body. PS. to SheedySheedySheedy, mentioning the Hillsborough disaster in a derogatory mannor puts you in a whole other rung on the scum ladder mate. Red or Blue, 96 people died there. 96 people from the same city as our club. 96 people that could have been your father/mother/brother/sister/cousin or best friend so sort your life out. (not trying to start a flame or anything just a strong view i have)
  16. Just read in the news that West Ham are in for Johnson and Arteta. (sunday Mirror) Normally news like this would be a 'yeah right whatever' but a few weeks ago i heard from an Everton player (admittadly 2nd hand) that AJ is homesick for London. Arteta as good as he is, is a merc (a season of muted rumors of a move back to Spain). IMO Everton have a trio of truley world class performers in AJ, Arteta and Cahill. if we sell two of them in the pre-season before we embark on a European campaign then im afraid we can finally nail the lid down we will NEVER be great again this news is not just worrying its down right soul destroying. .:Tomo:.
  17. I think it should be called the 'Chang-Tesco-O2-Umbro-Knowlsey_Safari' Park got a nice ring to it. while we are at it i think we should change the name of the team to either the 'Kirkby Blues' or the 'Kirkby Dons'. while we are at it i think moving out of Liverpool is a fantastic idea(i know its 5 miles but it might as well be 500, there will now only be one team in Liverpool and you know what. that breaks my f@$*ing heart. i know we have to move to keep pace with the rest of the premiership but this way? all sarcasm aside the name will have to keep the traditions of the club. but in this day and age traditions are pushed aside for sponsers names. cellnett stadium, nike arena, Ricoh Stadium, Emerates Stadium. and a quick one, why is it that we have to move out of the city while our 'illustrious' little sister across the park gets to move 100 yards to the left? cheers Liverpool county council.
