  1. I don't want to rain on the parade, but it is still early days we must remember. The same applies to the likes of Cisse at Newcastle. I think they will both carry their form into next season, but it's wise to remain cautious (perhaps I am just a glass half-empty sort of guy).

It will be interesting to see if players learn how to play against them.

How do you defend against a guy that has great movement and can find the net with one touch......

Thats what u pay millions for and im already convinced we got him on the cheap....

  2.

Is there any need for the derogatory comment? You seem like a good guy but I don't know why people are kicking Scottish football when it is down. We know our league is of very poor quality, and that the Old Firm are far from angels, but we can't do much with limited resources and financial constraints in this globalised era.

As I said in my intro thread, this is far more your site than mine, but this is the general football section and is not relevant to Everton, so I think it's okay for me to post here more frequently than there if others are fine with it. As this thread concerns my club, I don't see any need for comments mocking Rangers. We as fans (the decent ones) are well aware of the club's faults both on and off the pitch, but I don't see how rubbing salt into our wounds is of any purpose.

I realise you probably didn't mean any harm and were just having a bit of fun, but we receive many comments like this from non-Scottish fans and it does become frustrating. As I say, you seem sound and it's not my intention to argue, but I just don't see what comments putting us down can achieve.

As for the issue in regards to our entering administration, Whyte is and seemingly always has been a conman, but obviously it runs a lot deeper than that and the problems were there long before he arrived.

It's depressing what is happening us, but on the other hand I am pretty ashamed of some of the underhand things the club has done. Putting my morals aside and putting on my blue-tinted glasses, I just hope it doesn't end in liquidation. I have been burying my head in the sand about it for weeks. If a Phoenix club does emerge, my brother (he's a season ticket holder) has said that he won't support them, as it won't be Rangers to him.

I think a lot of fans feel similarly.

All that i didnt notice your accent at all. Well done.

  4. "By using JJB, who had 450 stores over the country of which 84 were going to be prime Everton stores, I had 84 stores which were overstocked with Everton stuff so the pockets of supporters in London, where ever, could get medium shorts if they wanted off of the shelf. It enabled to get the brand of Everton out there. "

What a load of bollocks... Not one JJB I EVER went in had more than a few racks of Everton Shirts.. And I dont think any would have been PRIME Everton shops.... Most I went in dint even have a fully stocked rack of Everton shirts.

Id agree that Evertons commercial standing has improved recently but thats from my point of view as a consumer.

  5. always one ain't there

he's obviously cemented as the number 2 now at left back anyways seeing as warnock didn't get a game..

agree with romey about carrick..he's dogshit..gave the ball away so many times yesterday with simple passes! beyond me aswell why he is playing for england

Because Warnock will play on Sunday perhaps...........

  6. Rodwell's previous contract was signed last Feb when he was a seventeen year old with 10/15 first team appearances. Now he's an established first teamer who played 36 games last season, not to mention the fact that the big three were all apparently after him, so it's got to be the right and sensible thing to do to give him improved terms hasn't it?

Someone suggested before that TC's negotiations went along the lines of...

    "Want a new contact Tim?"

    "Where do I sign?"

That's simplistic obviously but I'm sure it didn't take much sorting.

Thats the one thing I love about TC..... He loves the club and wants to give 110% every game he plays.....

Shame he carnt score with his fucking feet though........

  7. Does anyone fancy roque santa cruz as our new number 9. can't really see him gettin a regular game next season for citeh and i think they may let him go for around £10 million. whenever he's played against us he has looked dangerous and his goal scoring record aint bad. Ok he's not prolific but his all round game would benefit our stlye of play alot. On top of him my other ins/outs would be:

    ins

    beckford (free)

    ledley (free)

    ireland (8 million)

    outs

    yakubu (8-10 million)

    vaughan (3 million)

Your right his goal scoring record is fucking piss poor so a big fat NO

  8. I think 40K a week is a bit steep when I carnt see how hes going to get into the starting 11..... Id like to see us use him in that "Gerrard" role if hes up to it... He seems to relish playing in that role although his performances there havent been to great....

If true its good were showing some ambition... on the other hand for all you conspiracy theorists.... maybe its all a BK ploy..and its the begining of the end......."Rodwell rejects Everton MASSIVE offer" :o

  9. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11671_6148977,00.html

More crazy lazy journalism by Sky Sports.....

    Distin signing of the season???

"Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and John Heitinga were also both sound performers in their debut term at Goodison Park."

"Jack Rodwell. Everton's youth academy continues to impress. Rodwell made a giant leap in his development this term, playing 26 league matches and scoring twice - the highlight against United. Dan Gosling also glimmered."

"Marouane Fellaini struggled to match the highs of his first season at Goodison."

Im sure these guys dont even bother watching the teams they are supposed to be reporting on.....

Billy hasnt exactly had a great season although he has provided a few stunning goals.... Saving his best for next season I think

Rodwell didnt really impress although he got a few games under his belt and lets not forget that "MOTM" performance against United....

Fellani was by a hundred miles better this season than last......

I know were not the glamorous, mighty Spurs.... but come on Sky...... get the fucking big ones right......
