  1. You Toffee lads never fail to impress me with the way you deal with these things so level headedly and with grace. When i posted that comment i thought.."damn, i hope these lads dont think i'm being an antagonist, Coz thats the furthest thing from my mind". But as always. You lads treated me with courtesy. Cheers fellas. You took my comment as it was intended. Someone who is just trying to get a feel for the mood of the other camp.

As for your posts. I agree entirely with pretty much everything you have said. Lesacott has behaved a bit poorley in regards to the timing of his transfer request. And indeed i agree Jagielka is a better defender, But if he was fit i'm not sure we would have bid for him as Hughes wants a left side, left footed centre back. Who can also provide cover for bridge at left back.

On the issue of Hughes. I agree. I feel he has also behaved poorley. Not because of his persistence. I think during the transfer window a club has a right to bid for any player as many times as they wish. And the owning club of course has the right to reject those bids. The thing i am disapointed with is the way Hughes (on behalf of my beloved club) has blatently used the media to basicly "bully" Everton into selling one of thier players. And that REALLY doesn't sit well with me at all. Plus he has a growing air of smugness that is a.) so far unjustified as he has achieved nothing as yet. And b.) simply makes me squirm a bit :)

If i were you i would literally beg Moyes to get rid of any player who hands in a transfer request. If we put in a 22Mil bid for him then you can get another class CB with over 2 weeks left of the transfer window. Although to tell you the honest truth. I don't really want him. I think there is better we could go for and get... Carvalho, Alex, Hangeland. But thats just in my opinion. :D

There is a taste of SMUGNESS in all your posts too so Mr Hughes must be wearing off on you.....

If there are better players then why isnt he chasing them..... Be honest your here with your big wooden spoon arnt ya... go on admit it...... Thankfully we Everton fans have been there and done it.........so there is nothing left for us to moan about.....

Im sure ill do the same come christmas.... will be a good laugh checking out bluemoon when you realise that MEGA MILLIONS dont buy you point's in this league

  2. It's OK DM...you get used to just ignoring people like him.

Im just pissed off with hearing the same old stories based on complete bulshit....... and unless the fella next to me has moved his season ticket im gonna have to listen to it all fucking season......So im anticipatimg a full blown argument tomorrow....Im ina bad mood already..... I can imaginge the fella booing non stop at Lescott... hes one of them Big Baldy meat head types that argues with EVERYONE near him......

    ANYWAY......

  3. How naive! Moyes gets too much praise for this one, he can't pay because he hasn't the money to get close to a valuation. As usual names are discussed and thrown at the media to suppress anger and annoyance amongst the fans, the reality is unless Kenwright can convince Moyes to sell Lescott and stay in his job, we have NO cash to sign anybody.

How do you know...... You keep telling us we have no money but your basing this on what fact.......

As I see it we were willing to spend.... 4-6m on a rightback that was going to sit on the bench........ I can think of other things to spend my money on....

Tha Facts ARE.... HE HAS A BUDGET.... WHATEVER IT MAY BE.......

You carnt just start paying over the odds....do you not get it.....

ie if you have 2 players lined up...... both valued at 5m and we have 10m budet........you carnt go and offer 6 just because someone else comes along offering silly money........

we fail because other teams have BIGGER budgets... v simple...... Sunderland Villa City Portsmouth all have new mega rich owners

Stop saying we have "NO MONEY" we do..... we just carnt compete with the mega rich out there

  4. I think we'll see Cap'n Phil at RB with Rodwell playing more often in the centre.

We should see if SAF would let Rafael out on loan?

I think the team will be as it was against Malaga..... a last run out & test for his team before The Arsenal match....

Would he not have moved Phil to RB and stuck Rodwell in that game....... just to see how things go....

I carnt see Rodwell ever playing at CB unless were really really short...... especially as hes improved while playing in the middle....

  5. as im one who doesnt heckle i can understand them that do they pay thier money ie seasont tkts they are entitled to ask the question wheres the the money going...watching martin oniell on tv this morn singing the praises of delph really annoyed me...why cant we compete...oh the heckling some fans dont want to go back to the dark days ie coventry at home 11 ooo there thats what scares them real miserable times.

    ??????????????????????????

  6. Was never keen at first but I have made a U turn...would love him here.

Anyone seen him playing on the wing for Boro? Or is he an up the middle kind of player?

I allways thought he was a lazy bastard.......and didnt think he was good enough just just ignore the fact....

  7. No way he is garbage , he was decent when he first joined City but then started to show his true colours, horrible petulant waste of space. I would rather they throw in a packet of extra strong mints than have him as part of the deal

Id kind of agree.... I was wondering where this talk of Petrov came from..... nothing special

It wouldnt have anything to do with him being class on Football manager would it

  8. Taylor would be an ideal replacement for Lescott, he'll also be good cover at rb. If we can get him for £8m and sell Lescott for £20m (plus incentives - I wish Petrov could be one of those incentives!) then that's good business in my eyes. As for senderos... I wouldn't want him if we get taylor, I'd hope for a rb who could cover across the back to replace hibbo at least then the defence would be sorted! (just a couple of wingers and a def mid and I'm happy!)

Id like to get Taylor & Keep Lescott.....

  9.

Taking everything as written...... If we have pulled out of the deal... well im sure it will be over Arsenals Valuation....... If Sunderland want to cough up more silly money let them.......

I dont mind seeing Moyes/Everton sticking to their guns over Transfer fees..... These players are just squad players anyway...Id have a different view on it if they were "1st Team" buys.

I think we will/should be willing to move on fees if the player is a genuine 1st team buy that will improve the team....

  10. Alot of fans on here were trying to stay positive about the lack of activity with a few weeks to go and things looking more like last year by the day. Are the positive people still positive. One thing that makes me even more worried is that hull have spent about 10mil and are still looking at spending 10 mil on negredo

So your worried about HULL and using that as an excuse why we should all be worried....

Most people are not worried because they think are starting 11 is good enought to cope.......The only concern I have is the lack of numbers....

and even then Im sure Moyes is clever enough to shuffle his deck as he sees fit if he has to..... It may mean us playing Kids in some of the Domestic cup games but I dont think it will SERIOUSLY effect our league season

  11. you're right...sort of. you can't honestly believe that we can break the top 4 with as skint of a budget as we have. yeah, we don't need to drop $25 mil on a player (i can't think of any I'd have on our squad who cost that much) but you have to be able to buy someone...anything. and as this and previous windows have shown, we're absolutely broke.

I've said it before, but again...what we need to be fighting for CL year in and out is 25-30mil a summer and moyes to stick around. If we had that money, i'd argue it a sure thing we're in CL the next year. Otherwise, it'll take an incredible amount of luck and brilliant form to get close.

    :lol: :lol: :lol::lol: :lol:

25-30m goes a long way these days.

  12. Fellaini played for Belgium yesterday (played only one half but was the best player on the pitch) .. said after the game he's completely ready for Arsenal. Had lost 9lbs but has already regained 7lbs since then.

So my XI would be :

    Howard

    Neville Yobo Lescott Baines

    Pienaar Rodwell Cahill Jo

    Fellaini

    Saha

So completely shake things up a bit.......

  13. Exactly, hence why Lescott and Hughes would make a lovely couple! It's amazing to hear how arrogant Hughes has become regarding transfers this summer, as they say you reap what you sow so he better pray their backers don't back out. Would be even more funny if he got sacked by Christmas, very funny indeed.

I just wish the saga ends with Lescott going and us getting at least four players in.

and all by tomorrow lunchtime

If Lescott plays on Saturday..... (Im sure he will have picked up a KNOCK) What reception do you think he will get?

Im still hoping that he's picked up some sort of cock flesh eating disiese while in Holland but for the sake of the blues....

I hope it doesnt fall off until Sunday  sooo no Boos from me.....

  14. Do you think Jolean is going to be as effective now his head has been turned?

I wonder how professional he is?

Surely he will be annoyed by Moyes denying his request?

I can't remember players that have been made to stay and have continued to play well.

Must be better to let him go and take the cash?

Taoure and Gareth Barry had fantastic seaosons last year....... both turned by the dark side now though....

Thought occurred to me this morning; if City are serious about becomming the "biggest" club in the world then they're going to need a bigger stadium aren't they?

They're 30,000ish down on Real, United and Milan (Napoli, Dortmund and Galatasaray as well incidentally) and 50,000 short of Barcelona.

Can the CoM be developed or are there plans to move?

The other thing is that if they want to be the "best" in the world (rather than the biggest) then they're going to need to get a better center-back pairing than Lescott and Toure....sooner rather than later. I wonder if Joleon's thought of that?

£100m bids for Ferdinand, Terry & Vidic in Jan maybe? £250,000/£300,000 a week each? J-Lo could end up spending a lot of time on the bench.....but never mind, he'll have his bank statement to comfort him.

    My thoughts exactly.......

another little fact I heard the other day......... Santa Cruz has never scored more than 10 League goals in a prem season....... 17m well spent

IF an a big IF city get 4th then it will be diffrent, ALL the big names will come because of CL, if they don't they be stuck, picking up mercaniers, like Barry an Lescott, who only see pound signs.

If Lescott goes an they get 4th, then they buy 2 big name defenders an Lescott will be out on his ear.

Its what I keep saying..... 5 clubs after (need) 4 places.... This season could be the most exciting yet..... what effect does this have when the big four were more or less GAURANTEED champions league football EVERY SEASON....

Maybe why Non of them have splashed out BIG this summer.....

What would a season or two out of the big four do to these teams?????????

Come on lads be reasonable!!!.....We have offered 18Mil for a lad who the rest of the country sees as being worth no more than 10 - 12Mil. We will probably end up offering 22Mil for him and Moyes will Reject it (fair enough, that's been his stance from the very begining, and i have nothing but respect for him for doing that)....BUT. To say 22Mil AND ONOUHA!!! thats not even funny...

I can understand you're upset about the whole thing. It would upset me if an important player at City put in a transfer request to join one of our rivals. But i think Nedum will probably be better than Lescott within a couple of years. and he has just signed a new 5 year deal to quench any rumors of him being part of this deal.

Jo and 5Mil would be fair (we payed 18mil for him) but of course that would leave you short at the back. But there is still just under 3 weeks to get someone in

I agree. I wish this farce was all over and we could all just move on.

    You SMUG little Bastard

  15. What we need to get into the top four? Patience. Assuming we don't get bought out by a billionaire any time soon, we don't have money to splash £25m on a player. But that's fine - we're going in the right direction, and i don't believe any of this 'ceiling' rubbish. What we all assume now in football is that money buys instant improvement, instant success. That's crap. Has EVERY team that has spent upwards of £25m in transfers per season in the past five years gone on to make giant strides? No, and there are some notable howlers (Spurs, Newcastle etc.) It is just plain fact that there are only a finite number of truly exceptional footballers out there, no matter how much money you have burning your pockets, it doesn't mean you'll get one. And besides from the over-inflated transfer market, you're just as likely to find a gem in your own youth set up or plying his trade in the lower leagues somewhere.

The fact is that a lot of teams are now prepared to waste stupid sums on slightly better than average players, and a lot of managers (or their interfering chairmen) don't have the nouse to realise that it is a TEAM game, not about collecting star players like a bloody sticker album! Our manager (and chairman) understand that about football, and are therefore surely but slowly building a very, very good side.

Well said..... a bit of sense from someone for a change.....

  16. It's crazy that he's left this so late, and I agree with those on here who claim that is is cowardice that he hands in a formal request, one - at this late stage, and two - while he's away on international duty. Whether he'll be here come September, I wouldn't like to hazard a guess, but I tend to think that Moyes is likely to stand his ground on this one. We all know though, that we could really use the money that city are offering, and if we could "exchange" Lescott for any of these (Moutinho, Sessegnon, Defour), I think that would be good business, however, the problem is that we'd have no-one to play at CB, and we already need to get defensive cover in at the moment, so an 'exchange' like that would never materialise.

Good on Moyes, for standing his ground on this one though, it's gonna be interesting what kind of reception J-lo receives on Saturday - can't wait for that one.

I think its very unlikely he will play........ Not on our part.... he just wont come back fully fit.......BIG SHITHOUSE
