If I were to watch a game between 2 teams that I have never seen play before and there isn't a single "named" player on the pitch, can the game be exciting?? Can I say "Man, this was a great game!"
Describe in your own words what makes a game exciting to you. Please refrain from starting discussions like "well, that game sucked because we did this and that blah blah".
Try to describe this from a more abstract sense and not as a fan of a particular club. And try to imagine this while watching it on TV, not sitting on the stands.
Some questions to ask yourself when evaluating whether or not the game was exciting and a good game:
Quality of play
Long passing game vs a short passing game
Players performing "tricks"
Good goal keeping
Good defending
Good attack
Control of the midfield
One touch passing
Even playing field
Tactical game
Constant attacking, but low quality build up of the play...in other words direct attacking
Crowd's involvement
These are some things....I'm sure you all will come up with more.
taken from another forum.
I definately like the frustrating games, where you see teams really going for it but not getting it in the goal. i like watching quality build up play. i also do like the odd long ball chase if the attacking team has a pacey striker. they keep me most entertained compared to a game where say team a completely dominates team b and wins by like 5 goals.

Arteta looking great out there , not afraid to shoot, had a decent effort on both feet now. Faddy has impressed me with his game so far, had a nice on target header aswell but im still expecting something magical from him.
and ahaha at the commentator, they suggested that VDMs bench position was a birthday present from moyes ahahahah pmsl.

have you guys seen the latest report. on ten news in australia they had a photo which resembled Maddie (from a distance) on the shoulder of a lady. i cant remember which country it was in (Romania springs to mind) but yeh. ill try find it online now.

well considering he plays in defense, looks like they had nothing else to go on so they just made some shit up, they could have at least done some research on his position.

good, when we beat them at full strength (well almost) and see them walk out with the heads down it will be so sweet. can see aj breaking his drought this match aswell. my dream result would be rooney opening the scoring, doing a bunch of badge kissing infront of everyone then us coming back for a 2-1 one to stick it to him.

oh shouda quoted, RuffRob said earlier in the thread.
Maybe Valencia will loan him out in January!!! -
haha he shouldve expected not to get a game when they dont even give him a number.
ahwell, wish him luck. wouldnt want him on loan though hes had his chance in the mighty blue guernsey.
-
i am amazed. i agree lets give McFadden a start against Man U, hopefully this can be the season he proves hes a consistent goalscorer. if it doesent work out AJ can come on with his pace and run a muck when Man Us Defense is tired.
-
he said he wanted 20 because that was his goal return aim for the season but it was taken, so he took 22 instead. so im expecting 22 goals from the yak
-
-
ill go for another 2-1. ronaldo for them and yak and osman for us.
-
the one at 4:48, magical finish haha get him up front.

mm it's a little weird hehe but the Kennedy and Lincoln one is better:
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.
Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.
Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.
Lincoln was shot at the theatre named 'Ford'.
Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln' made by Ford.
Booth ran from the theatre and was caught in a warehouse.
Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theatre.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
And just one more thing:
A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.
Now do you believe in coincidence, predestination... or conspiracy?

im here come on Moyes, i have my hopes up for Riquelme don't let me down mate.
-
Diego would be class. maybe Pablo Aimar, Jesus Navas, Enzo Maresca or even throw all the money we have left at Lucho Gonzalez might aswell as its almost panic time and he is 100% owned by Porto now (i know our initial bid was a ploy to make Porto buy him outright). i really want to see us sign someone with creativeness not just a hard worker. comes on Moyesee make me proud.
-
itll be an agreement subject to medical tests. if he passes he signs, if not the contract is void.

wayne rooney is no longer an evertonian to me. he lost that right when he left for a rival. if he went to spain or italy or somewhere it would have been nowhere near as crushing. also if he does come back and kisses the everton badge with his red-stained lips i will hate him even more. only way i could ever trust and rely on him again is if he made some huge sacrifices for the club. im talking wages, public apology etc. even with my intense dislike of him i'd still be happy he joined, the lads got skill.

wow sounds awesome, can't wait.
-
im from Adelaide but not to sure of any fan clubs here
-
umm i dont remember where i got it from,
from one of them two.

Everton will try and sign Dutch striker Huntelaar for 12m mill from Ajax. Everton are in desperate need of a striker, and need a striker with a different playing style to johnson. Also Everton will make a bid for Newcastles Steven Taylor for 4 mill also seeing Neville go the other way.
WOW! that would be a Magnificent signing imo. 12m is what were offering for Yakubu to so it sounds like we have the money. still wont get my hopes up.
-
brilliant stuff, cant believe AJ didnt get one in though, 2 of those shots were destined for the net damned Robinson...
-

i reckon we will win 2-0. seeings as hes been given the green light im hoping AJ can explode through his lack of confidence and score them both even though i see him being a sub. don't want him to go im an AJ Fanboy.
