  1. What is scary is the amount of WWE wrestlers that have died at an early age <40 is common...rumours are that steroid use is rife with very little PCT going on hence the early deaths (heart attacks).

mm another one died last night i think, Crush (Brian Adams) was just on the news.

  2. Keeping pace with Ronaldo is a thankless task for most defenders, but there is a midfielder who may just be up to it.

The way he launched his latest Premier League campaign, there could even be reason for believing Mikel Arteta might yet outstrip Manchester United's wing wizard in the race to be acknowledged as this season's supreme entertainer.

Chase is on: Mikel Arteta of Everton avoids Denny Landzaat of Wigan Athletic

For once, the Spanish maestro had no direct involvement in either of Everton's goals, but once more he had a capacity crowd in the palm of his hand and any number of opposing defenders in his pocket.

The styles could scarcely be more different — Ronaldo's blistering pace contrasting with a matador-like ability to wrong-foot an opponent from a standing start — but the effect is the same. Whenever either player is in possession, a matchdefining moment is usually not too far away.

There was almost one on the half-hour at Goodison Park as a weaving run took Arteta past four challenges and was only halted by an ill-advised lunge from Titus Bramble that could easily have cost Wigan a penalty.

Just four minutes earlier, the hapless Bramble had paid for failing to deal with a Tony Hibbert cross as it skimmed off his head for Leon Osman to open the scoring with a looping header beyond Chris Kirkland's reach.

The error-prone former Newcastle defender fared little better in trying to keep out Victor Anichebe's close-range finish in the 75th minute. There was no way back for Wigan, even when substitute Antoine Sibierski reduced the deficit five minutes later.

If there was room for improvement in most areas of an unconvincing Everton win, at least Arteta hit the ground running after signing a new long-term contract during the summer.

"Some of the things he did are what people pay to come and see," said manager David Moyes. "He has got a big part to play in where we finish up.

"I think he realises now that this is his Everton, his stage. It is important now that we finish off more of the openings he creates, coming in off both flanks.

"When you are a crowdpleaser like him, there can be a temptation to overdo it, but if ever I thought he was show-boating I would be the first to tell him. I haven't seen any evidence of it, though."

In his role as makeshift left back, Kevin Kilbane was on the receiving end and he backed Arteta's artistry to emerge as one of the season's talking points.

"This is the season in which he could go on to become one of the stars of the Premiership," said the former Everton midfielder.

Wigan's plight is apparently hopeless if pre-season forecasts are anything to go by, but there were signs that Jason Koumas could help defy the odds.

"Jason has fantastic ability and the selfbelief to be a success at this level," said manager Chris Hutchings.

I completely agree he is class, and i'd have him in my side over Ronaldo any day. i am biased though :P anyone else not looking forward to his eventual call-up, im afraid the world will see how good he is against any opponent and come in with their deep pockets.

  3. Seems like Wigan-Kuomas is attacking us....we seem quiet????

yeh he's doing ok, nothing to special yet. Arteta has been quiet so far this half. 5 Shots on Target for us, 2 for them total. they still arnt looking to threating in the box.

and im watching it on Australian Cable (Foxtel) not EvertonTV :)

  4. Arteta is tearing up Kilbane...and i guess we need another Arteta in the team to tear up opponents defence as a whole...lol....UEFA can a big ask if we only have Arteta! sigh

    ?

im just saying hes having a good game so far.

  5. it's still 0-0 at around the 25 minute mark. don't know where you got 1-0 from.

im watching it on tv :). just hit half time.

both sides only had one/two shot really on target, Osman's header was ours and goal. Johnson had a nice Volley on target to but saved by Kirkland. Wigans only on target shot took a deflection off one of our defenders (cant remember who) nothing to threatening yet.

we are playing better, Arteta is tearing up Kilbane

i was devastated when Vaughan got injured in the game before the big Cup final, (Vaughany's scored 12 so far this season and AJ a massive 39) Anichebe out on loan for the season and i have no other players registered. i decide to give BT a chance to step up rather than opt for a 4-5-1 tactic. play him as a target man, have everyone aim the ball at his head and what do you know, he scores two goals! to be fair to him hes done very well this season, scored 23 before getting a 2 month injury and completely lost all form. Euro Cup final was his first game since his injury as Vaughan was playing to well.

but yeh i just had a lol when i saw this :P, if theres already a FM thread i couldnt find it sorry.

  7. what's wrong with the 4-5-1. i know we still have no decent backup for AJ until Vaughan gets back but AJ should be able to stay fit and injury free till then i think/hope. eventually, Cahill up behind AJ, Arteta on the left, Osman on the right, this Gonzalez guy in the middle and Carsley playing as a holding midfielder.

im all for this signing, hopefully it's not bullshit.

  8. I do hope Fernandes comes back on loan...but don't think it will happen.

Is Van der Vaart any good? Never seen him play much...

yeh he's pretty good from what i've seen (only 1 or 2 matches) but he certainly has a mean foot on him. seen a few youtube videos on him aswell and he looks good there aswell (yeh i know youtube only shows the good stuff).

i'll be happy if he signs but atm id be happy if anyone signs haha.

  9. Claus Jensen – Everton.

Richardson – £3M any of the clubs in uefa or below

    Smith – £7M Everton

Expect either Saha/ Smith to leave to Lyon/ Everton and Richardson to Sunderland or Everton again while Silvestre will move to Lyon

Everton to gazzump the geordies and get Deco, also EFC to sign Richardson, Baines, Nugent, and Scholes

    Everton News

Alan Smith will complete his transfer from Manchester Utd on Friday.

Everton will also sign up and coming Goalkeeper Russell Wood from Warrington Town.

Moyes is looking to spend remainder of budget on Leighton Baines

holy shit if we got Deco id litterally shit myself cant see it happening though hes the heart of Barca (if thats the one the site is talking about).

id be happy with Smith, Baines and Richardson. hopefully.

  10. there was an interview on a football show with him the other day, he said he is really disappointed about the David Dein situation, the interviewer kept on asking Henry if we should watch the papers for any transfers involving Henry and all he could reply with was "I'm an arsenal player at the moment". he did concede (iirc but im 99% sure i remember it right) that if he was to leave he would want to goto AC Milan as hes already worked with Ancelotti at Juventus.

future looks grim for Arsenal especially if Wenger leaves, my friend said the other day (hes a mad gunners fan) Fabregas said he would leave no doubt if Wenger goes. why couldn't this happen to the scum?

  11. keep him, we've got a good, capable and reliable striker force if we keep him, we know hes premiership level and can score goals for us, why go and a mess with something thats not broken. ultimately were looking to improve our squad and i dont think we can lure anyone better than Johnson (or let alone afford them) at this time, also id rather keep the budget we have and have a reliable striker rather than selling him and buying another striker who has the chance to be a total flop, and tbh we dont have good experienced backup, Johnson is holding us together up front.

i seriously hope West Ham get relegated from that court case because i hate the way they are just throwing cash at anyones players.

  12. Anderrson is a magic player in fm2006

did anyone else see that Portsmouth have spent a club record $17 million to buy Ghana international Sulley Muntari from Italian club Udinese.

yup, £7m i haven't really seen to much of him im scouting him on FM now :P.

Anderson and Nani are very good players and i even though i don't like the mancs atleast the scum didnt sign em. Goodluck to em i say.
