  1. Hi. I'm not sure if this goes against site regs but, could you guys help out a fellow toffee? My wife has entered us into a wedding of the year competition and we need the votes. Its easy to vote, just click the link, scroll down to "I want this couple to win wedding of the year 2012" and click. http://www.anessexwedding.com/woty_vote.cfm?GI_WOTY_ID=1478 Many thanks Andy & Claire COYB
  2. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=1MBWmlYwPLM He's been dubbed "The Van". Looks awesome. Just need FIFA to do something right.
  3. its a very vague report. They haven't even bothered mentioning a price. We need a playmaker and if the cost fits, Moyes knows who to pick. IMWT.
  4. I know its only his first game and i may be jumping the gun, but if he continues to do well I hope there is some deal at the end of it. It will be gutting having to give him back at the end of the season. If we havent got an agreement to buy (which it seems from all reports is the case) we dont stand a chance of keeping him. Some other club will prob snap him up - can't see him wanting to return to city unless hughes goes.
  5. Saw Johnson against AC Milan on 5 the other day. seemed like he had a lot of potential. But would rather see us go for a bit more experience and give our youngsters a chance. If we play our young players maybe people will see that they are just as good as Johnson and havent cost us the 8mil we would have to spend on johnson. Its time to back the youngsters not get on their backs, the season hasnt started yet. We didnt buy huge last season, we bought late and finished 5th. A bit of faith from the everton faithful is required. A bad atmosphere will not help the team, it will only lead to our own downfall.
  6. hes 28, nearly 29. I have seen him play a couple of games and he seems quite impressive. Although he reminds me of Carlton Palmer! He's the type of player everyone cheers when on the ball cos he looks so clumsy. But he distributes really well.
  7. Does anyone know if we've got an option to buy Gardner? Personally I hate us giving money to the spurts. If he does well for us then sods off back to shite hart lane then I don't see the point of having him at Everton. We never really buy any good players from Tottenham. V Samways, S Davies spring to mind. I've always gone on the opinion that Tottenham players are well overated, but cos they are in London they get looked at more. Woodgate straight into the England set-up?! Yes he's good, but never really got a look when he was at Boro.

Whats the opinion on Edmar. Obviously only seen him twice, but if he was cheap would be good cover for arteta?! or is that a bit far fetched? One to keep an eye on perhaps.
  9. Sign me up. Im there. I want a pink shirt. Proper collectors item, plus doing your bit for charity. Arteta and Yakubu love their shirt so much they cant take their eyes off it.

There's a lot of tough teams there! Last year the teams in europe looked crap. Weren't there loads of crap teams still in at the group stage last year?

Blackburn went out and bolton struggled. Im hoping metalist were a good upcoming side - they have a billionaire owner. Bit like Villareal when we played them. No excuses though we were shit, and lucky. Only looked good once we reverted back to what we know 4-5-1

The good and the bad. BAD: Yobo & Jagielka both ball watched - where's your man, there behind you! Yakubu - for a big built man can not hold a ball up. Great goalscoring talent, but we dont play the way he's used to (running at teams). Every ball played along the ground by metalist in the first half found its man - defence splitting. We need to sure up the midfield with two tacklers. The defence has got to stop ball watching. GOOD: Lescott, nuf said. Mcfadden - worked a lot better running at players than receiving his ball with his back to goal like the first leg. Anichebe - Powerhouse, please don't play for Nigeria - England is calling (is it too late).
  13. This is a very similar problem to the tevez situation. Under current prem laws a club can not buy a player who is owned/part owned by an agent/company. This is a huge headache for the FA at the moment as this type of arrangement is not recognised under their guide lines. What I understand is if you want 100% of players rights then you have to pay both parties, but the FA wont allow payments of such kind to agents. I'm not too sure what the 'players rights' actually entails either. only speculate that each party gets a 50% say in the matter with the player casting the final vote.
  14. So whats the opinion on anderson? From what Ive seen he seems a good aquisition. Faddy got us out of a hole. He can certainly do a job for us this season given a chance.
  15. With players like this we couldnt be accused of not playing attractive football! see avatar.

This is poor, I know its only pre-season and the MLS is still in their season but if we are a club progressing we should be beating this sort of opposition, fit or not. We had a good season last season but there were times when we didnt look like being able to break teams down and there was nothing on the bench that could create something. I have small concerns over next season if we dont add to the squad. someone with that killer touch or pass. It cant all be left to arteta!
  17. Ferguson, Gascoigne, Gough were all inspired signings.
  18. How much for campbell? His wages are always reported to be huge. Didnt realise he was only 32. would be a good addition if he was a free. Bit slow now though, but the experience would be priceless.
  19. KillaGTiR - I agree with you they wont be missed but in todays market i would have hoped we got a bit more money for them, not just let them run down their contract and go for nothing or next to nothing.
  20. Fair enough if Baines is good I'll take your word for it, but richardson showed how good he is at WBA and the little chance hes had in the england team. Hes been kept out of a manure side by giggs and ronaldo, but still managed to get in as left back. I just feel that richardson offers more in various positions on the pitch. unless Baines can do that too?. any youtube footage or good links to what Baines is like? I guess at the mo we need a left back and young talent would be good to spend on. How old is nicky shorey, hes having problems with his contract at reading. could be a good/possibly cheaper alternative?!
  21. I think we all knew we were skint, the board has always struggled to bring in money. We could be facing a tough season after letting players run out of contract before getting rid. We are down 3 players from wright, pistone and naysmith. Admittably no big loss, but selling Wright before he was out of contract would have been better than nothing. We sell our players too cheap as well. in todays market an international like naysmith should have got more than £1m, but I guess thats just speculation on price as there was prob some agreement with the blades. We will still have a decent side as long as there are no injuries, but other players must look at Everton and think why do I want to go there the board dont seem to show ambition (getting in the players and taking a risk). They dont look like they are willing to progress. The club may be stable/progressing in the league but still doesnt get the backing to make the next step, theres only a limited amount of progression a club can do without money before they stall. Further more the players we have got at the moment will become frustrated if the club doesnt look like they want to become big. Which will mean them wanting to leave next season.
  22. I'd say Richardson for 5.5m! he's played left back, left wing, is young, is english, great pace. We should get real about the value of players, moaning about it wont make them any cheaper. Baines for £6m, seriously whats he done. We cant afford that no matter how much potential. Nugent went for £6m Present/Future england international which now looks cheap.
  23. Queudrue would be a good affordable addition, we need a squad so even if hes just a squad player it would be a good addition, a better player than naysmith. We cant afford Baines (£6m) what has he done to deserve that price tag. After Moyes saying we cant compete in the market....... actually I'll post this rant as a new topic elsewhere.
  24. VDM wants to stay in England?! Proves our nightlife is the best in europe if nothing else. Probably see him setting up his own bar open 24 hours.
