  1. Would rather the club moves forwards and makes the Appiah speculation a reality either in Jan or end of season. Bringing in Manny now would not be the right move and I think it would unsettle a very sound team spirit. I wish the lad the best, but I really do think he will, if he isn't already, regret his decision.

exactly, if we came back for him now it would make us look desperate, we would be crawling to a player who rejected us. i would much rather take appiah

  2. Should be a cracking game - Would rather be going their with a 2 or 3 goal lead, but at least the teams focus will well and truly be on getting a result over there, rather than nervously defending.

Strange although it may sound, in a way, I think we are almost better of going over there currenly 'losing' the tie at 1-1 than taking a slender 1-0 lead. The home team have something to defend and we have go to go and attack.

They will be missing two of thier first choice defenders after them getting them send off last week, and they have not yet come across Arteta. I wouldn't be surprised if we see another one or two Mentalists get sent off.

I am going for 0-3 - and us to go through 4-1 on aggregate - Moyes has 'smelt' it!!!!!

i doubt that, refs are always harsher to the away team in europe. no argument about the score though!

  3. i think hibbert was better on sunday, possibly because arteta was back to help him - he could simply pass to arteta knowing that something would get done, that there was someone there who was alert and skillful. fullbacks can be made to look poor or good depending on what the winger on their side is like, and vice versa.

  4. while i was lucky enough to get my copy a day early i'll give a quick review.

as with the last fifa, it is just an ugraded version of the previous years game. the graphics are identical, the kits and boots have been upgraded and all the usual bits and bobs. even the menus are the same, but with updated colours.

but it seems a lot of time has been put into the match play. where as old fifa games every shot hits the target (or near enough) and every pass hits your man, every ball weighted perfect. not anymore, a lot of emphasis has been put on this by the looks of it. there is a wider range of pass this time round, distance is also controlled by the player, man selection has changed(a couple of times i found i had selected the GK and made a right mess). on a whole you are alot more involved, and take control of the team more than ever.

Everton - still no Goodison Park. transfers are as of 25/8/07. so we dont have yak or tommy. strangely enough, we have one manuel fernandes!!! also wessells, jags, pienaar and baines. on the youth side, we've got vic an jv as before, being joined by lucas j, boyley, vidarsson and JPK also makes an appearance.

on the whole i like it. the game play seems to be catching up on PES. anybody who is already a fifa fan will be happy, PES fans may be pulled in a little too.

EDIT: james vaughan is now white

dont have it yet, what rating do arteta and lescott get?

  5. another shite performance i thought

no way, i thought it was quite good, we didnt even play that much hoofball.

    my ratings:

Howard - 8. didnt have that much to do but looked really solid when called upon.

hibbert - 7. had an ok game defensivly, even got some crosses in.

stubbs - 7. decent game, gave away one silly free kick but quite solid.

lescott - 9. mom for me. great all round performance.

baines 7. got forward well as per usual, decent game.

pienaar - 9. great game, worked really hard, seems to have loads more skill than osman.

neville - 8. shock horror, i thought he played well, much better than jags today, actually found blue shirts!

jagielka - 4. quite poor today imo, seemed to give the ball away a lot.

arteta - 9. welcome back! missed him a lot. back to his best today, set up both goals, brilliant game.

yakubu - 5. not that good today imo, looked a bit lazy.

mcfadden - 9. had a great game, involved in the pienaar goal too.

    subs:

anichebe - 4. didnt do much, looks a bit clumsy and doesnt keep the ball very well.

yobo - 7. looked decent when he came on but i'm not really sure why that was.

carsley - didnt have enough time on the pitch to make an impact.

  6. I think he's saying he'd like to see Baines playing on the wing.

Baines pozzi is left back and he's good there so shouldnt really be tried out of position but I can understand Sandmans reasoning. I think its just him wishing we would use wingers instead of lobbing hopeless balls in the box from the half way line. If thats the case then hes got a pretty good point.

exactly. we dont have a decent left winger (one who is naturally left sided) and baines gets forward and crosses, and lescott can play left back... so i just thought it would add something extra to the midfield.

  7. some rumours from football-rumours.com:

on the transfer side of things Diego from Bremen will not sign this Saturday just passed he signed a new four year deal.

Yakubu's poor start (being lazy Kharkiv) and Ajs lack of goals will make Moyes move again for another foward no names have been mentioned yet but sources at club say this certain.

Moyes will again listen to the fans and cut out remaining dead–wood leaving in January/Summer:

Tony Hibbert (1 million or free agent Summer)

Nuno Valente (Nominal or free agent Summer)

    Lee Carlsey (same as Valente)

Andy Van Der Meyde (Psv or az)

James McFadden (Certain to Celtic for £6 million)

Steven pienaar will be the first to replace Andy Van der Meyde Dortmund will let him go for £2 million (4 million euros) Pienaar impressed me against Villa will come good.

Thomas Gravesen will sign pernanmently despite only 1 sub appearance. he already fits in well I guess.

Their are two major signing in January one is set in stone Stephain Appiah has signed a pre contract agreement from Fenerbache the fee is £6.8 million this will be annouced as soon as the window opens and Everton will again test Middelsbroughs resolve to keep thier top players by bidding £7 million for Winger Stewart Downing.

Andrew Johnson is said to be homesick and Arsenal Totteham and Westham are all looking to take him home and are all willing to pay up to £15 million all clubs are said to want to offer Everton a foward in exchange for aj for a smaller price of £8 million to £10 million plus:

    Arsenal: Nicolas Bendter

    Tottenham: Jermain Defoe/Darren Bent

    Westham: Bobby Zamora

Man United will makea double swoop on Goodison in the January Transfer window signing both Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill for £25 million with Darren Fletcher heading the other way. This will allow Everton to complete the signings of Andy Todd (£2 million) and Damien Johnson (£3 million). Also heading to Goodison are Diego and Stewart Downing for 11 an £7 million pounds respectively.

probably bullshit but i'd take diego and appiah. heard good things about bendtner too.

  8. He's back but Barnsley want to take him on loan again. Why don't we try and give them one of Carsley, Neville or Hibert instead. They're all fucking useless for us.

bit of a rough deal for barnsley isnt it

  9. anderson is back from his loan, wonder if he'll start...

    i'd like to see

    wessels

    neville stubbs lescott boyle

    pienaar anderson jags vidarsson

    mcfadden jutkiewicz

not very realistic ino, but i'd like to see the young lads given a run out. neville is only there cos he'll never be dropped btw. agard should be on the bench too.
