  1. I thought Anichebe gave their defence a few problems in the match but did die out towards the end of the second half. But come one hes only a young'un, he just needs to improve stamina a bit. But this shows how hard he has worked all game if he was tired at the end.

  2. a brilliant result from a brilliant team. A great preformance from every player on the pitch. I now i and many others who have spoken on this topic have eaten their words. There really wasnt anything to worry about was there?.

  3. The good news is although Nigeria have a great squad, they always fall pretty early in the African Nations. We can expect Yobo and Yakubu if he signs back quickly from the competition unless they actually preform how they should. They reming me alot of Spain, so much potential but never gets very far.

Or am i wrong and no matter what stage you go out you have to wait till a certain date to come back??

  4. If i had my way, which i dont, this topic would be scrapped. It is clear that Riquelme will not be signed if Moyes is keen on Fernandes and when you could choose between a 21 year old with his best years ahead of him, and a 28 year old who although world class would demand a lot heavier wages, i know i would choose manny every time.

I can see him going to Boca Juniors very soon so lets cut this one now.

But i suppose we can still dream of a Arteta, Manny, Cahill, Fernandes, Riquelme midfield. Now that would be special.

  5. He won't want to go to Newcastle only money grabbers or people who go to win trophies go there (lmao). He has been with through to much with Everton to leave now. Although he has only scored 1 goal AGAINST Newcastle he makes assist and killer passes which make Everton. You could call him 'the unsung hero'. If I was Moyes i would go and tell B.I.G. S.A.M. to go and shove it up his arse! :D

Spot on bro, Phil Neville does his bit for the club but a lot of people dont seem to notice. I Agree that he can be frustrating sometimes but you can always rely on Phil to give 110% in a match. 4 million is a generous offer but lets not forget this is only a rumour. I dont see Phil Neville as the money grabbertype of newcaslte player and if he wants to win trophies well he has a much better chance of it happening here than at the barcodes.

  6. Watching Valente at the world cup i saw the type of player he could be. Maybe this was because he was surrounded by world class players, but he gave his all in every match. If only we could see this in him in the prem as sometimes he looks quite lazy on the ball and scared to tackle. His crossing is top class if he could start to show his Portugal side in his other skills he would be challenging for that Left back spot with Baines when he is fit.

  7. FFS, one game into the season and the knives are out already, Beattie's gone so its Aj and Victor who gets the stick now, along with Osman, Carsley, Hibbert, and Neville, I'm surprised that with so many useless lazy players in the team we actually managed to win the game.

How the players play, is the way the manager tells them to play, Long balls have always been been part of the Moyes way of playing, and until we sign some more players who have the skills of Ateta we will always have to play the long ball.

Neville and Carsley havent got the SKILLS to play it out through the midfield, Maybe if Fernandes is brought in and Pienaar turns out well we might play a bit more football, but the long Ball will still play a big part in our game.

Well said mate, you really hit the point square there. 1 game in and perhaps we are just finding our squad awareness again. I mean the only challenging team we played really in pre season was Bremen so maybe we just needed to loosen up more.

  8. I remember the game vs West Ham in 2003/2004 season which was 0-0. It was the most depressing game of football i had ever seen and to make things worse West Ham were in a run of poor form. We should have hammered them everywhere. I remebered at the end of that season thinking we could have done with them 3 points we so easily could have got.

If anything West Ham could have come away with the 3 points that day.

  9. ino its early in the season but if andy johnson carrys on lik he did yesterday then we are in serious trouble! he is our centre forward y in gods name does he dilly dally on the wing and supply crosses. we need him in the boxs on the end of crosses if i moyes i wud be telling him to stay centrel and let other people do the crossing i found him very frustrating yesterday. your views please?

I noticed this from johnson, all game he seemed to be the one supplying rather than shooting. When he did get in a area to shoot he looked for a player to pass too.

But we shudnt worry about this too much as it is only 1 game in and iam sure johnson will get his fair share of goals.

But hey you cant argue with his work he did for the second goal, Top Class

  10. Howard

    Neville Yobo Lescott *Valente*

    Da Silva Carsley Pienaar Arteta

    AJ Vic

*Valente*- anyone know when Baines is back?

I have heard he will be back at the blackburn game but if Moyes takes a risk which he never does, he will play at reading.

  11. My opinion is if you have money use it because the next time you can spend it is January when prices inflate so bad that players like yakubu would be worth 16 million. Moyes has said himself he hates signing in January so with this "money" he should try and bring in as many people as the budget allows.

At the end of the day a team playing in a european competition plus two domestic cups needs to have a fairly good sized squad to have any chance of resting crucial players for important games. Lets face it you dont want to be playing Arteta and Johnson in F.A cups games v Dagenham and Redbridge. But with our current squad we have to.

  12. As i said in another topic i await the Spurs game with baited breath. They will definalty be pissed off after Sunderland game and will want revenge. I for one will think Everton's tactics will be to wetaher the storm and try grab agoal.

If we sign Manny and Yak before the game i may relax a little as they will surely bring us up to scratch with a stron Spurs team.

  13. I dont understand why people slag Osman off. He may get a bit casual at times but you can always rely on him to pop up with a goal every now and again. I am glad he showed that today.

Pienaar had a good game but i can see him not starting again next game but getting about 10 extra minutes of game time.

It was sad to see Jagielka not getting at least a 5 minute appearance but i guess Moyes is just being careful with his new signings.

But nevertheless i am still a bit scared of the prospect of a pissed off spurs next game, they will want serious revenge for their result against Sunderland. Hopefully we can weather the storm and maybe grab a late winner. Who knows if Manny and Yak sign i may be able to rest more before next game.
