  1. Firstly gotta say I'm very pleased (and surprised) that this happened and we managed to get Rom back permanent,

I think we've ended up overpaying a bit but then eh Chelsea were never gonna let us have him on the cheap and thats

the way the transfer market is these days and if Calum Chambers is worth £16m, Lallana £25m and Lovren £20m then

    doesnt sound so bad!,

I'm just shocked that we spent over £20 million on one player, not used to us spending that over both transfer windows!

My only concern now is I felt last season we were a striker short, especially if injuries occur, so with the extra games of Europa

and as we didnt technically add to last seasons squad today, imo we definitely need at least one more face in that position

ready to compete for first team, keep hearing about maybe Traore back on loan but heard nothing more on that of late,

I really hope there's a couple more coming in anyway!

By the way what happened to the younger Belgian lad we were being linked with, plenty on Twitter earlier expecting him to get

unveiled as well tonight, I know thats not really anything to go by but just wondered.

  2. ITV Commentators good as ever, saying we might come unstuck playing how we do against better teams, didn't they see us against Arsenal at the Emirates, idiots!!!

On a positive not, great result, hopefully Arsenal do their job next and we get a home draw! I have a feeling we're gonna get Wigan!

  3. Absolutely stunning win tonight great game to watch!! Was tough to pick my MOTM as great all round perfomance!

Hopefully we can tick off another achievement Moyes never managed with us on Sunday

and win at the Emirates, although I'll admit I won't be going into that game as optimistic as I did tonight, but why not eh???

And all the papers said it was an injury crisis with Baines being out, 2 in 2 from Oviedo now can't argue with that!!!

  4. Simple answer to OP

    No!!

Think it was perfect time for the change for both him and us, funny seeing United fans on forums saying Moyes is too negative or

defensive when we could see this all along, hopefully we can tick off another achievement Moyes never managed with us on Sunday

and win at the Emirates, although I'll admit I won't be going into that game as optimistic as I did tonight, but why not eh???

Either way great win tonight great game to watch!! Was tough to pick my MOTM as great all round perfomance!

And all the papers said it was an injury crisis with Baines being out, 2 in 2 from Oviedo now can't argue with that!!!

  5. Here's the reality, Moyes will not be managing a top team in a couple of years... Top teams will be coming in for martinez in a couple of years. I hope we can keep hold of Martinez, I honestly think he is on the brink of something huge.

    Couldn't have said it better....

I agree, I think Roberto is going to take us to the champions league within next three year. Maybe this year? Yeah I've had some Budweisers but the man has got it. You can just tell

Finding it hard to deny having these thoughts myself but the way this leagues going right now, surely its not impossible right????

  6. He's been a great servant to the club, but I can't see him coming back bar a couple of injuries. He's never been technically great, but he is consistent. Like Matt said, more of player-coach to me.

think he's pretty much done as a premier full back now, injured at a key stage of career, it will be tough for him. he may well do a year or two at Wigan and come back as a coach

I agree with all of this, great loyal servant, never anything special but did his job when required, never gonna fit into what Martinez is thinking but think he deserves a few more years yet in his career sadly not with us but seen a lot of clubs where he could do a good job, best of luck Tony will always remember that one goal!!

  7. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/transfer-news-exclusive-leighton-baines-has-asked-everton-to-agree-deal-with-manchester-united-8788275.html

Actually says he's asked us to agree a fee with United, apparently been asking since start of pre-season which makes it sound bit like bullshit imo. Definitely not what I expected from Baines if true but the way football is these days can't really rule it out without hearing from the man himself

  8. Anything less than £18m for Baines means that I would sooner keep him for another 3 years and maybe get £7-8m for him if and when we have someone near his quality (Garbutt/Ovideo).

Left back is a niche position, you can look at far more ways of replacing fellaini than you can baines. Apart from that, Baines for me gives us an identity - a local lad who is an icon. Fellaini isn't the loyal consistent sort that a player of his transfer value would warrant fighting to keep. On the contrary - Fellaini is possibly one of the most frustrating players we have, he has ability but lacks the desire to make the most of that ability.

    My thoughts exactly!

  9.

Where do they get this shit from???? I know none of us know what's going on behind the scenes but this flies in the face of every other story on the situation.

For a start it's the first I've heard of this apparent pact between Moyes and Bill, and if it does exist Moyes didn't take very long to break a pact with an apparent

    'very good friend' did he?

    Then this bit

After both of those bids were rejected, Baines is believed to have become frustrated with the club standing in his way of a dream move to the Premier League champions.

I know I don't know him personally but this seems about as far away as you could get from how he comes across, I think he's happy where he is and would completely

understand us turning down any bids especially of the value the rumoured ones have been

Another case of a journo with too much time on his hands me thinks!

  10. Blue Oz

Who's bashing Kenwright!? People are stating what they see and how they perceive the actions of the man

What would you say if for instance I said what a great interview I know he's keeping his cards close to his chest and has a contingency plan in place?

I'm not his greatest fan but far from his biggest critic I'm judging the situation as it seems as like everyone I'm slightly worried where we go from here. I fully understand it's a fresh situation and he's going to be shocked at Moyes leaving bit men in his position should be able to deal with these situations with a clear head and a more astute attitude and at the very least have a plan in place to deal with this which on the face of things and judging by his mannerisms doesn't seem to be the case.

I just hope I'm very wrong!

My apologies, when you put it like that I understand more what you mean, I just think that just because he seemed unprepared for talking to the media that it doesnt mean in any way that its the same situation behind the scenes,

I do share some of your worries though, remembering the situation we were at before Moyes took over the last thing I want is a return to that I'm just hoping that we can get a decent standard of new man in to at least keep us in (or preferably build on) our current situation. I'll be even happier if no big names leave in the summer though!

  11. As Steve says it's how unprepared He is that is worrying the board should have had a contingency plan in place for some time with Moyes not committing to a new deal and if they haven't it shows a massive lack of common sense let alone business acumen...

I just hope He's just covering His arse by not letting on who they have in mind to step in but I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if that is not the case tbh.

Until we know this isnt the case then surely its far too early to start all this abuse, just seems any excuse for a bit of BK bashing huh?

o be honest at this minute in time I dont really give a fuck how BK acts to the cameras its whats going on behind the scenes thats important, and hopefully Mark Hughes' name is nowhere near any current shortlist!!

  12. This.

Next season we need to build on this one, if we are going to push for a Champions League place then I'd want us to spend 99% of our budget on players who can make a difference now.

99% of what though I wonder?

If its anything like our normal budget then its pretty hard to find anyone to slot straight into our first team, apart from the usual loans and free transfers that is.

  13. not at all but a player that threatening when we desperately need to score is what we want on the pitch...

If he had been threatening to actually do something I'd agree but the fact he conributed pretty much fuck all this game means he had to come off imo

  14. fellaini has been poor yes but he's a huge threat playing well or not..taking him off is ridiculous

So you're saying the best players in a team should never get taken off even if they're doing fuck all??? Now that is ridiculous!!

  15. fellaini has been poor yes but he's a huge threat playing well or not..taking him off is ridiculous

So you're saying the best players in a team should never get taken off even if they're doing fuck all??? Now that is ridiculous!!

  16. Gotta say the refs been pretty shit as well though to be fair, everytime we touch a wigan player its a foul and a yellow but hardly seen

him give anything to us just waves play on!

Or is that just me being biased?

  17. A mate of mine said to me this evening that Fellaini's gonna be off in the summer, I said I had to agree and finishing 4th was the only chance we had of him staying but as long as we get the decent price he's worth then I'd much rather lose him than Baines.

Can't argue that Felli's been a big part of our form this season but thats been more due to his goals than anything else imo, and as has already been said we've put in some good performances when he's been missing. Surely we can get a quality goal scoring midfielder for the money whereas Baines creates plenty of chances game after game and is far more consistent, also would be lot tougher to find an equal or better replacement without spending silly money

As much I'd hate to see him go and really hope he doesn't, I don't think it would mean disaster and as long as most of the money went back into the squad it could actually help us build ala Rooney

  18. How impressive was Vic again today, held up the ball beautifully of the mids to run off him!

We should have been playin with that attacking formation from the start against a team like villa at home! Stick it to em off the get got!

In the end gotta b happy with that point although could have had it right at the end with a felli hat trick, with had made my morning!!!!

Gotta agree with this, impressed with him again today, he really seems to have kicked on as a player this season. Not long ago

I wouldnt have cared if he'd left us but glad to see him change my opinion of him, deserves all the credit he gets at the min especially

after all the stick he's got in the past, hopefully he keeps it up his goals could prove very crucial this year!
