Yeah , I think the are trying to regain some focus. They still want to push for the board to appoint some professionals to sell the club and/or to get some answers regarding who,when and how much. The message has been diluted somewhat recently but they are sorting themselves out before Febuary.

I still don't fully support them but I'm quite impressed with the amount of press they got , and wasted.

I'm trying to be optimistic but I can see Saint Bill thinking of excuses in the last couple of days in January. I really can't see Moyes getting any money.

I don't think a permanent deal would ever be viable and not just because if money. Two months is certainly better than nothing when it comes to this quality player with a great work ethic. As I said before , I hope this isn't the only option open to us. Moyes must have some of the Arteta money. I would be rather miffed if Saint Bill thinks this is all it takes to appease the disgruntled group of fans which looks like its growing.

However , kudos must go to Saint Bill and Moyes for this piece of good news.

Great move Moyes but I hope the transfer window isn't all loans. A few permanent incomings would be most welcome. Good start but hopefully it is just a start.

Apparently Moyes made an approach for Henry on loan. That's Thierry Henry. Looks like any cash Moyes has is either ringfenced ( ha ha ) for a creative force or is no existant. I would cheer for the former and the Union would gain support for the latter.

So you should mate. I honestly lived in ignorance till I read your posts and followed up your words by using my own research and making up my own mind. For that you have my thanks.

Another piece of humble pie, I really didn't rate Heitinga wearing Royal Blue but recently I have had to change my mind.

Any thought in my mind that Moyes is the man to take us forward if we ever get that magical buy out evaporated today with THAT substitution. I can't tell you just how fucking livid it made me. Is he that desperate to get Distin back in the side that he'll do anything to make it happen? Why mess with the defence when, even though it was under pressure, was standing up reasonably well to that pressure? Bringing Distin on in itself wasn't the worst substitution in the world but to take our only striker off for a CB is absolutely mind boggling. Further to that we're then left with Cahill upfront who hasn't scored for a bastard year! And he has the bright idea of pushing Fellaini further upfield to be his support, and he's actually pretty crap at that role. Also, he shifts our best CB of the game (Heitinga) into midfield where he has proven many times that he's pretty shit. So with one fell swoop, or one substitution, he completely messes with the dynamic of the side. It was no wonder that Arsenal pretty much instantly took the lead when the team was messed around with that much (needlessly, IMO).

 

Then with our other substitutions Cahill manages to actually stay on the pitch for 90 minutes despite being utterly ineffective the whole game, and actually ended up playing as a proper midfielder where he has even less impact or usefulness for us.

 

I'm not going to call for Moyes to be sacked or any of that, but I just cannot back him. I can't.

 

 

 

Howard - Made some cracking saves and if not for him (and Heitinga and Hibbert) we'd have been on the end of an embarrassing hammering.

 

 

Hibbert - Put in a good defensive display today - crucial blocks and tackles etc.

 

 

Jagielka - He was as dodgy as he's been all season in that first half. He was caught out a lot and Heitinga had to cover for him time after time. He settled down in the second half but he's a massive concern back there.

 

 

Heitinga - He really is showing why he's said he wants to play at CB. He was a rock at the back for us all game long (apart from when he was shifted into midfield ). He was left on his own 2 Arsenal defenders running at him at one point, while the rest of our defence was nowhere to be found, and he didn't panic and throw a tackle in, he just stayed calm and RVP was eventually caught offside. My MOTM.

 

 

Baines - Very poor from Leighton all round today really. He was terrible defensively, his corners were atrocious, as were his crosses from open play (when we actually bothered to go forward).

 

 

Coleman - Attempted to take us forward but more often than not he had no one further upfield to give the ball to so had to turn back and usually ended up losing the ball in a dangerous area.

 

 

Neville - I have to say I wasn't best pleased to see him starting today, but, of our two DM's he was by far the better of the two.

 

Fellaini - I was in awe of the man today. In awe of just how shite he was. His control was awful, his passing was sloppy (and that's being kind), he lost the ball in dangerous areas and then just trotted nonchalantly after the Arsenal player who dispossessed him. I wanted to strangle him.

 

 

Bily - He was Bily. That is all.

 

 

Cahill - Oh he tries like a good boy but, fuck me, he may as well have not been playing. How he managed to complete the full game is laughable.

 

 

Saha - I want him to stay in the box. Preferably a fucking wooden one because he's on his last legs.

I agree , let's hope Moyes can use him a lot more in future. Coming on as a sub for a brand spanking new striker in January.

Either way , its frustrating. Either he's telling porkies about the number of interested parties ( just how many parties has he said recently , half a dozen? ) or the board are asking for an unrealistic deal. Here. Over to you Avin. Lol.

My concern too ,especially as Bill said it was too late for Moyes to spend it when Arteta left. How much of it has been dwindled away by this and that.Don't forget though, he wasn't the only player we sold ,so I would like to think we would have at least the Arty money.

I see your point mate but it really hasn't worked out for the best so far in my opinion. We made a few quid on other players and I'm still not sure that Moyes will have enough money to more than compensate for the loss of Beckford. I agree , financially it is a great deal but I reckon a bit of competition would work wonders for the King.

I really hope Moyes gets at least the Arteta money but will probably have to make do with the Beckford cash. I can't see anyone leaving unless Man City need a new left back or someone is ready to spend big on Rodwell. The B.U and the fence sitters will be watching .

I love Wrighty .I also like Saint Bill but it's the same answers. I know a lot of you are going to say "same answers because there's nothing more to add " but even as a fan who isn't as clued up as a lot of you , I'm struggling to accept there isn't anymore to add. No updates on the "3 or 4" interested parties including Jain . I'm sure at least one board member can contribute more than "expertise" ,even though Bill tried to say they didn't have any dough ,listen carefully.

I'm a big Haf supporter in as much as I wholeheartedly agree that saint Bill or at least the board has to go. I lived in real ignorance until I started following his posts. The problem is I really can't believe he SEEMS to be making a sale hard work. Or is he lying about possible sale options. I really don't know.

All I know is that I have become pessimistic . When handing out a five year deal to a player becomes the highlight of near half a season I find it hard to be anything else. I really want to optimistic like a lot of you , I really do . When you start pinning hopes on groups like the Blue Union you know something wrong.

I find this debate on this forum far more entertaining than anything else this season. Thanks guys .Truly.

 

We have to rely on scouting, training, and a good manager now, which is how football should be.

It really should be but it isn't I'm afraid. What annoys me most (more than lack of a warchest) is the real possibility that those youngsters and relative unknowns our tremendous scouts pick up are sold to cover the Fuck ups made at board level.
