  1. You're quite dense, that bullshit argument is exactly what my post tried to unravel. The first mistake your argument makes is that because something worked in the past, it will do the same now and in the future. That is simply not the case. Let's say we play rock, paper, scissors. I play rock the first time and you play scissors, I win. The second game I continue playing rock and you again play scissors, I win. The third time I play rock yet again, but this time you play rock, we draw. I play rock a 4th time, but now you play scissors again, to see if my change in tactics changed yours. Now that you've seen I am not changing my tactics based on yours, you play paper in our 5th game and I play rock, you win. This is essentially what has happened to Moyes, he found a tactic that worked, he kept playing it to some success. Other managers figured this out and changed their tactics against us, when Moyes did not change the problem began.

That is the problem with Moyes, he will not change. He is stuck in his ways and shows no signs of adaptability or learning. We've seen no tactical progression in at least 3 years and very little over 9. He's been found out and other managers take advantage of that.

Now about the fine run of form we had from Jan-May of last year. It was wonderful. Was it related to Moyes' tactics? Debatable. He had his best players fresh from injury when most teams were experiencing a mid-season drag. The players put in the performances that they're not putting in now. They must be faulted for having poor form (save for Distin, Baines, Pienaar, Coleman and Fellaini). But, as the manager it is Moyes' job to find ways to make his best players play their best. He's not done that. Worse, he's blown the confidence of Yak and Becks while consistently playing a striker whose not scored in the league since FEB 2009!!! Inexcusable.

Finally, about the past successes of David Moyes at Everton. He has done a fine job as manager, until this past year. But, we need to part ways before things go terribly sour. He's stagnated and clearly needs a change of scenery, we could use the same. Moyes has been a fantastic help to correcting our path as a club, but all things come to an end. Past success cannot guarantee future success. Look at Liverpool. They had a manager who had won them a CL trophy, a couple FA cups and strong finishes in the league. But, he goes one year, makes poor signings, team selections and match strategies; they finish 7th instead of 2nd and Rafa gets the sack one year after being 5 points from league champions. Moyes has done the exact same here. He fucked up transfers this summer, and is 20 matches into a season that will surely not see us finish higher than 10th (being quite optimistic). He needs to go before things get too bad and we find ourselves staring at relegation and playing Palace, Reading and Middlesbrough.

Sorry Bluenose but one big argument against him going now is the fact that Sam Allardyce is looking for a job, Moyes should be given to at least the seasons end. If we do go down then so be it, hopefully there are three worse teams than us in the league although at this moment in time no one has won fewer than we have done :( I would also point out that BK shows faith in his managers far beyond the norm so asking for his head now is akin to pissing into the wind mate

  2. Ok you said his career has stopped under Moyes either way you are still wrong. He has just completed the best 12 months of his professional life so you couldnt be more wrong if you tried

Just how many players do you want to get on the bench, the lad is a 17 year old LB ffs?

I can understand people having a go about him not playing Duffy, I can even understand why people are jumping on the Gueye bandwagon but please slagging him off for not putting a 17 year old LB on the bench.? Baines has been one of our best players all year would you honestly want to drag him off just to give Garbutt a go?

You have just been slagging him off for having lads on the bench and not playing them so I presume you want him to play instead of Baines or did you have another option in mind?

Why do mention Baines, try mentioning Hibbo, and it seems that even when I prove you wrong you say I couldn't be more worng for doing so, strange argument that one Dunc's. Don't you think that most great players at our club made early appearances, shit Rooney, Ball, Vaughan and Royle had a few games under their belts by the time they were 17 Colin Harvey was playing for us at the San Siro, or do you forget. For the umpteenth time, just in case you missed it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if he is good enough then he is old enough or do you disagree?

  3. Lets face it - can he do any worse than Jags at the moment?

Not one fan would begrudge Duffy being given a start at the present time given injuries etc. I feel that another chanting session like we did for Coleman may be needed, seriously irritating. Moyes gives youth a chance?

Alas its the only time he listens,

    all together now

ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE DUFFY A CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL WE ARE SAYING IS GIVE DUFFY A CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Citing the last three games doesn't change the truth of the last ten.

And neither does finding a table showing what happened before the last ten.

You have many valid points (which I don't neccessarily agree with) but saying he has a poor record against the top teams is really pushing it.....it's the one area where we're doing OK.

TBH Mike that is one thing I find hard to understand, he does lift the present team when it comes to the big boys but fails lamentably with the so called lesser lights. The fact remains that at present we are showing relegation form, four wins from twenty games is a 20% win rate which is bloody awful. Cost of players can't be it as Ian Holloway gets by on fresh air, his tactics have been bizarre at times and his trust in woefully out of form players is laughable. We as a club cannot go on like this, something has to be done as sitting back doing nothing just isn't good enough

  5. I have just checked and I got that one wrong it was actually last season when he made the bench. But the point remains the lad has had a great 12 months and is a million miles from being finished at 17

At no point have I said Garbuts career is over, where you got that from is mystery, I said going nowhere which as he hasn't made the bench once this years is a fact. The point remains, as you have said yourself, the lad is doing this that and the other for England but he can't make the bench with us................do you think he may consider doing a Gosling or a Vic, what confidence does that give him. If he is good enough then he is old enough and we have many players producing nought but crap at the present time yet he can't get a look in

  6. Not getting involved in all this, but AJ scored 13 pens out of the 19 goals he scored for palace in the prem so he was never a great goal scorer. The rest is boring now. Accept that we can't afford to give him transfer money, we can't afford to pay him off if he's fired and we can't afford a more high profile manager. We have notes and that's not Gunna change.

    Wise as always Steve :lol::lol::lol:

He's got more money than Hollaway at Blackpool in fact he's paid money pa than the entire Blackpool team cost mate. We must give him until the end of term but I'm sick of the no alternative crap

  7. C1982, most of what you have written could happen although when a team is down the bottom players do not hold their market value as people realise there will be a desperation to sell. This coming year has to be one of change, we supporters have had our balloons burst too many times by this present squad. They may well stuff Spuds in the week but it will not change my mind about the shambles we have witnessed so far this season. The transfer window is open, who is expecting us to make any signings, planned any loan deals before the last day of the bloody window. If the club had a clue some, not all of course as that would be wanting too much, deals would be getting finalised as I write, some attempt to shore up the squad has been needed for some time even if it means bring Joey back from Turkey. However I forget this is Everton, everything done on the seat of their pants, not a plan in site, no doubt management are scouring the newspaper gossip columns in the same fashion we do the only diffidence being we'd get something done :(

  8.

How exactly has Garbutts career stopped under Moyes? He has played regularly for the reserves and has won European U17 Championship with England . He is a regular international for his age group and has gone on to captain his country. He is only 17 so I would say his career is looking just fine

The question was to name one striker that has imroved under Moyse and I was just pointing out a few who had.

Bily just hasnt worked out the English game is clearly too fast and too physical for him so its nothing to do with Moyes ruining his confidence

I would beg to differ that the Yak has played his worst football under Moyes because I know plenty of Borro and Pompey fans who will tell you that he did exactly the same thing at thier clubs

I agree the side is low on confidence but we will bounce back.

Just tell me this Dunc's why doesn't Garbut get a seat on the bench? Again why does he choose to let kids sit there week in week out...........how does that instill confidence, sorry mate. Incidentally Moyes knew what the Yak was like and he hasn't managed to change him either instead he weighed more than I do and that's saying something. Gus Hiddinck recommended Bily to us, he is a far better manager that DM so was he wrong as well or has Moyes missed something. How can Bily's confidence improve week in and week out when he sees the greedy selfish prick Saha ruining chance after chance...............great confidence boosting message that one.

  9. Andy Johnson played the best football of his career under Moyes which got him into the England team, Marcus Bent hasnt played as well for any manager as he did under Moyse. The Yaks best ever season in English football was under Moyse.

Jo had his mos effective period in English football playing for Moyse. Wayne Rooney developed perfectly well under Moyse.

I would even go as far as to say that Big Vics game has improved greatly over the past couple of years

Wow Dunc's you really are stuck on Moyes lad. Try these few for size, Bily lost all confidence and faith under Moyes, the Yak has played his worst football under Moyes, Garbut..............career has stopped under Moyes, Beckford enough said about him, Saha lost his scoring touch under Moyes, an entire team low on confidence under Moyes and I'm sure many more can be added to that list. He did inspire on arrival more so than most but to continue to credit him with giving confidence to a shellshocked outfit representing us at present is laughable mate.

As a measure of confidence he has given this season we have won just four games out of twenty, relagation form. Incredibly the shite have been at their lowest point in 57 years and we managed to go lower........................no wonder so many are pissed off with him :angry:

Just for the record Wolves have won more games than we have this season and Mick McCarthy is favourite to get the sack!

  10. Trying being the operative word. Moyes is trying to prove Einstein’s definition of insanity - ‘doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results’ – with a practical demonstration. Meanwhile, for the rest of the school of science community, the results are quite obvious: Everton = Mediocre Club, too. The thing is, why won’t he experiment? If what he’s got on the bench is inadequate, then he shouldn’t have assembled it. It’s apparent that what’s on the pitch is inadequate, too. For me, layman et al, he has got to play the likes of Gueye, Bily (yes, I know he has been played, but not where he should be played) and the youngsters to see if we can get some different results. It beggars belief he plays the same hand all the time. There is a very real danger we could be relegated this year and utterly foolish to ignore the possibility. I’m sure DM knows this, but I’m equally sure he no longer knows what to do about it. Time for him to consult the alchemist and, for us, more likely the chemist.

Its with great reluctance but I have to agree with all of this.

Some say it's nonsense to have a go at Moyes, its the players to blame just like the passengers on the Titanic, iceberg what iceberg. We have thrown points away this season like confetti at a wedding. Yippee we play nice football but it is totally predictable and has now become virtually ineffective. Since when did possession win a match, you can pass the ball round all day but with no cutting edge it becomes a total fucking waste of time, your possession stats will look good but they will also hide the truth. If the manager keeps repeating the same mistake how the bloody hell can that be right.............his major mistake being bloody Saha but he still won't listen

  11. Not at all

Can I just use your example as a way to try and get my point accross. You say that you have "heard" Gueye has a wondorous left foot. Who did you hear this from? Did they also tell you that he never did anything in the game after his wondorous left foot cross for felli's goal?

I have just got back from the Stoke game and Im not got going to bother watching MOTD because they will manipulate the highlights to make it look like we got battered.

If you cant get to the game it doesnt make you any less of a supporter but I do firmly believe it makes you less informed

As I have said before I dont watch the reserves so I dont know enough about Gueye to say wether or not the lad deserves a start but judging from the Huddersfield game he is a million miles away

I'm sorry to sink your boat Duncs mate but when I say I've heard that doesn't mean I've read reports, read the EFC website but rather I've heard from people who have seen and whose opinion I trust. You again fail to accept that I'm not even saying these kids deserve to be in from the start of a game but surely they should be blooded from the bench rather than using their arses to keep their seats warm for 90 mins.

  12. I honestly think no one deserves any MOM call.................I'll check on MOTD later but as it stands I'm totally pissed off with the bloody lot of them, pretty football means sweet FA as we are proving week in and week out :angry::angry:

I eventually voted for Sylvan, it would have been unfair not to

  13. If Hibbo plays today he'll get sent off, the lad will give his all trying to stop tanks including bring them down in any way he can................Hibbo is all heart, a true Blue but he is never a bloody centre back, not even in five a side.

    We'll go down 2 - 1

  14. I can understand why people are clamouring for Duffy to be given a go and I have to admit the thought of Hibbo playing centre half today scares the shit out of me. But I just think that Moyes sees him every day in training and I would rate his opinion above any internet warrior any day of the week.

Its like everyone shouting for Gueye to be included, have they actually seen him play?

I watched him in the cup game against Huddersfield where he played well for 10 minutes and put in a belter of a cross for Felli's goal but then he dissapeared up his own arse and was woeful for the rest of the game. He was pretty much the same in all the preseason games.

Yet all of a sudden a few blokes with keyboards think they know better

Dunc's. I hope you are not implying that I'm a 'internet warrior' because my view doesn't correspond with yours. Alas i've had well in excess 50 years watching and supporting the Blues. health prevents me from attending matches these days but it will not stop me from having an opinion.

The biggest flaw in your argument is the fact that Moyes puts people on the bench and then ignores them. Using Gueye as an example I to have received mixed reviews on this lad, most confirm that he has a wondrous left foot when he cares to use it. Now put yourself in his position, week after week sitting there doing nothing and the players on the pitch are out there doing even less. What sort of managerial message does that send when he won't give the kid five minutes on the park. Moyes decision not to trust duffy is far more to do with his annual desire to reach 40 points than any positive football decision, he is crapping himself that we can't pull clear as he doesn't trust anyone who has not been tried. In my book its like the skipper of the Titanic forbiding people to use any untried life boats, it is a recipe for disaster, total folly especially if Hibbo gets shoved in the middle again today :(

  15. We've all heard today that Roy Hodgson has apologised for slating the fans who failed to show him or his side support on Wednesday night. Do managers have the right to attack their own fans in this fashion. Some of the idiotic arrogant comments broadcast in the media from outraged fans have been simply over the top eg 'he's not up to our standard (what ever that might be), how can a Fulham manager be expected to cope with a club this size (doesn't just look after the players)and the best of the lot, he's not qualified to run Liverpool (last seasons manager of the year, he did better than the Waiter).

IMO Hodgson was right to complain about the Dogleash chanting, although the said Canine Lead was on the appointment panel that persuaded Hodgson to join them, shows how fickle their fans are. It is now an inevitability that the guy will get the push but I wish he would actually tell us all what he thinks of kopites and their gobshite style arrogance.

Incidentally, Hodgson's dad was a big Blue in Croydon, he hero worshiped Dixie, shit that's certain to get the poor sod the sack now.

  16. Wayne Rooney has revealed he wants to continue as a manager after his playing days are through. Strange though, he doesn't wish to manage Everton or Man Utd.

    From The Sun;

He said: "I would like to be a manager. That would be my ambition when I finish playing.

"You see the players who have played for Alex Ferguson and gone on to be good managers — I am hoping to do that one day.

"But I wouldn't like to follow the manager here, or start at an Everton or Manchester United.

Can he not think of anything other than his next million pounds?

Like many fellow Blues I couldn't give a crap what that grasping overrated tosser wants and I wish all threads bearing the prats name, or derivative thereof be barred from all Blue forums. Once a blue always a blue and those that alter are scabby shiity arseholes :(

  17.

Just to prove he has lost the plot, Baxter, Arteta and Pienaar will form the back four with Hibbert, Howard will be wearing a sling, the Yak will play with his laces tied together and he'll drop Cahill becuase he won't be avaiable for the next game. Distin will be dropped because he is playing too well, Rodwell will be on the bench because Moysey likes chatting to him, Fellaini will not have woken up from being on the piss tonight....................................or could I be wrong ;)
