  1. There are many strong rumours surrounding are potential signing of Senderos who in my opinion will never set the world alight. If we do sign him it will send a very poor message out to the likes of Shane which I think is wrong move.....give the kids a chance especially when they are as good as this lad

  2. I heard Paul Merson on Soccer Saturday saying a few weeks ago that he isn't good enough for the Prem and needs several chances to score (Andy Cole). I had no opinion of my own as I'd never seen him play.

However, I have a mate in work who is a Carlisle fan (as I think I mentioned before we played them in the cup) and I went with him to Leeds on Tuesday for the Johnstones Paint Northern Final First Leg. Unfortunately I have to report, albeit on a single performance, that Merson is correct. Beckford was one on one with the keeper FOUR times and fluffed them all as well as having at least another two very good chances to score without any success. His touch is poor and he went down in front of us on one occasion clutching his face when he wasn't touched (not something I like to see).

As I said, this is based on one performance and we all have a bad day but I really didn't see anything to impress me. He certainly wont get 4 or 5 chances per game in the Prem so would have to be far more clinical to succeed here.

I'm always ready to change my opinion or admit I'm wrong if it cmes to it but I wouldn't be getting too excited.

I've watched him a few times on the box, he is another Stewy Barlow...crap

  3. One thing's for sure, if we allow Tevez all the space in the world on the edge of our box like we've done to most of our opponents this season then he's going to punish us, and probably more than once.

Oh, and please, please, please keep the same team that played against Arsenal Moyes. Bringing Hibbert in and pushing Neville into midfield next to Felli is not the way to go!

It was Tevez that posed the only problem as far as I could see as well Romey. We need some one who can tackle and move like the wind when necessary.................you can all hate for this but Seamus could be the answer, he can tackle and he has the speed we are just not giving him the experience he needs to go with his abilities. Tevez will run rings round Pip and Hibbo (he isn't fit any way)

  4. Rumoured to be one of the sites offered to Everton for a new stadium:

    Map of site

Its a pity its not the Bobby Collins playing field Louis

How long before the locals are up in arms with their Nimbyist attitudes, another enquiry and so on and so on.

We should suggest to the council that they apply for the Commonwealth Games in eight years time then we could have a stadium for bugger all al la Citeh

  5. unfortunately while I wouldn't say we lack amibition we have little means to achieve it.

Or at least to achieve the same ambitions that Man City have.

If asked who is more likely to make the champions league in the next 2 season then I would say them without a doubt. If I was Lescott then I would have done the same thing and taken both the money and bigger chance of big stage success and chance to be a part of a side bringing in big world known quality footballers.

Even without the extra money it certainly looks like a tempting prospect...so long as your actually getting to play when you get back from injury of course!

His actual words were 'this club has far more ambition' he mistakes ambition for dosh, if he had said it was exclusively about money then that is fine with me as we are quids in, but no he claimed Citeh had more ambition.................he is a tvvat

  6. I dont know what you mean about "his lacking ambition crap"

As far as Im aware he didnt say the club lacked ambition he just realised that City were far more likely to achieve thier ambitions and can you honestly blame him for that?

He doesnt owe our club anything and he is not an Evertonian so why shouldnt he want to go and win medals for himself?

Yes Everton gave him his chance in the Premiership and Moyse turned him into an international defender and I am sure he is grateful for that but the club have been well rewarded for that by the size of the transfer fee.

At the end of the day I think we got a very good deal out of it, we are better off without him but Im not so sure he is better off without us

Well if you listen to his first press conference at Citeh its in there for all to hear. He is a belter, no more no less

  7. Yeah I agree, the rumour is he's going to Arsenal for £4m and at certain times on Saturday it looked the case. Pienaar was clean through with a simple pass and Saha just dawdled on the ball and ended up blasting it straight at an Arsenal defender. We should have won this match and I'm annoyed that we left a massive space down the right hand side of our defence for their equaliser when we were into added on time, we should have had every man back behind the ball. Even more annoying was the fact that Howard probably had it covered but we were unlucky again. We really need to start getting some wins now but it's nice to see that our season is definitely turning around, ever since we totally outplayed Liverpool (another top 4 team Romey - or will be top 4 anyway) but lost our performances have really gone up a level and we're now playing like the Everton team we know and love. We just need Jags and Arteta back and we could have another glorious season. An excellent league finish may now be getting slightly unrealistic (although I can still see top 8 or so) but I can't see any reason why we can't win a cup this year. The league was wide open this year, it's just a pity we had so many injuries and such poor form early on. Next year I think we can have a very good season, I still think we're a match for anyone when everyone is fit.

Spot on Carl, the 24 year cycle is on for 2011. This side has great strengths, and one ot two weaknesses which every side since creation has had, we are that close and I am hugely optimistic mate. I will die a very happy man if we win the Prem, and yes I did say win the Prem, before the Shite, this side has that potential more so than the 80's team had :)

  8. We were magnificant and that's not even an overstatement. There aren't many teams who will go to the Emirates and outplay Arsenal for the majority of the game, but that's exactly what we did. For the first time in a long while we went out with positive intent against a so called Top 4 side and the benefits of that were there for all to see. We didn't sit back and try to stifle them, we stifled them by playing football against them while not giving them any time to breathe when they had the ball. A lot of that was down to the total domination produced by a certain Mr. Fellaini. He's just as young as most of their midfield but he showed so much more maturity and raw power, and they couldn't handle it. I was afraid our heads would go down when they got their first equaliser as they so often have when we've took the lead against these sides in the past, but if anything, the players looked even more determined to get the three points. We're going to have a problem; we can't play Pip and Fellaini next to each other and have to DM's. It's testament to how well we played that it feels more like two points dropped rather than one gained. The contrast between how crap we looked playing the two together against Carlisle and then how good and positive we looked yesterday was massive. Pip is a shoe-in so he's got to play RB but Moyes loves Hibbert too so he's going to have to make a tough decision, and I hope he makes the right one.

If only Vaughan had put that chance away...

Howard - Could do absolutely nothing about their deflected goals.

Neville - Got ripped on one or two occasions but generally had a good game. I don't think it's a coincidence that we get Neville back and there seems to be a lot more fight and passion in our play.

Neill - He wasn't a stand-out at the back but he played well.

Heitinga - I cannot wait to see Heitinga and Jagielka play together. The organisation of Jags will make Heitinga look even better. There's no way Johnny should be played anywhere other than CB; he's so composed and fearless back there and he gets stuck in just like. Where Jags is just a defender, Heitinga is a footballer too and I think they'd compliment each other perfectly.

Baines - I know people are saying he looked better yesterday but I just didn't see it, I thought he was as poor as he's looked all season.

Donovan - Every time he got the ball I moved to the edge of my seat, he was so positive in his play and it was really refreshing to see. What a corner for Ossie's goal as well, that's how it's done Leighton! I think a lot of us are going to be sad to see him go once his loan runs out.

Fellaini - He was my MOTM, and by quite some distance, which is saying something when most of the side had extremely good games. The amount of times he simply stepped in took the ball from the feet of an Arsenal player with ease was incredible. He was dominant and stuck to his task from start to finish. Watching him yesterday it was hard to believe he's only 21 because he was head and shoulders (literally :P) above anyone else on the pitch.

Ossie - Apart from delaying a couple of passes far too long when we were attempting to counter-attack he had a really neat and tidy game, and he struck up a good combination with Mo. What a leap for his goal as well!

Pienaar - I don't think he had that good a game by his standard because there were quite a few stray passes from the Pieman, but he contributed in another way with that quality goal. I was thinking he was going to fluff it because he's not the most composed infront of goal but that finish was all about composure and it was cheeky as fuck!

Cahill - Nice pass for Pienaar's goal but his overall gameplay was poor again.

Saha - Greedy bastard. Not talking about his supposed wage demands but his use of the ball.

Agree with al of that other than your Cahill comment who, imo, had his best game for quite some time. Saha got to me as well, if he had passed the bloody ball sometimes then we'd have won

  9. Hello to all the fine Evertonians here on the forum. As you can see I am a Fulham supporter, but have alwyas had a soft spot for the Toffees. I just came to see how Landon was doing and was suprised to see him get a start so soon.

From what I've read he did OK for his first foray into the world of the Prem. (I have the match DVR'ed to watch later) Good luck for the rest of the season and hope LD does a top notch job for the Blues.

Cheers mate and best of luck to the nicest club in the smoke Fulham

  10. Thank God for that, Kris Marshall it is. In the BT advert he plays alongside Esther Hall who appeared in the latest version of Sons nad Lovers, she is very very tasty with her kit off

Not bad that it only took nearly eight months but we got there :lol::lol::lol:

PS (for Mikes attention) there is absolutely no way I could have changed that answer, not that I would anyway

I will now have to go and be devisous all over again :lol:

  11. As both Moyes and Wenger said on Saturday, the tounement should go ahead, you just cannot give in to terrorists.

It got under way this afternoon with the hosts playing Mali. With 16mins to go the home side were romping it 4 - 0, believe it or not it finshed 4 - 4...............possibly the most incredible international finish I have seen

  12. I couldnt care less he isnt our player anymore

I dont blame him for going to City, why shouldnt he want to double his wages and go to a bigger club with the chance of winning trophies?

We got a fantastic deal for him and he hasnt exactly been a roaring success anyway has he?

What you say is in part correct, he did me with his 'lacking ambition' crap, totally disrespectful to this club, manager and fans and many will not forgive or forget....................including me. Lescott should have said money which would have been many times more truthful and as Citeh fans have found out he is only average

  13. LIVERPOOL'S owners have been plunged into more chaos after a foul-mouthed email rant by director Tom Hicks Jnr.

In an astonishing attack, the son of the club's Texan co-owner told a critical Kop fan: "Blow me, **** face. Go to hell. I'm sick of you."

Liverpool supporter Stephen Horner, 29, wrote to the club's owners and their sons to express his concerns for the future of the Merseyside giants.

After first being dismissed as an 'idiot', he then received the second obscene response.

The email, sent from the address of board member Hicks Jr, was also copied to Liverpool FC commercial and finance directors Ian Ayre and Phillip Nash.

Club sources insisted last night Ayre and Nash never received the offending correspondence and they have launched their own investigation into the matter.

But the email will cause further embarrassment to the under-fire Americans, who have lurched from one disaster to another since their takeover in 2007.

Horner, a London-based Kop fan of 20 years, was stunned by the response to what he believed was a perfectly polite correspondence.

He said: "I'm genuinely shaken. I can't believe a member of Liverpool's board would write to a fan in this way. It sums up how the club is being run at the moment.

"I simply emailed copies of an article which would make every Liverpool fan worried, suggesting the club's debts will prevent investment in the team.

"I was hoping for a reassuring response instead I was insulted.

"I don't want an apology, I just want them out of the club."

It is not the first time that Hicks Jr has been at the centre of controversy. He was attacked and forced to flee when he ignored threats from fans and visited a pub in Anfield two years ago. And this latest gaffe is sure to increase the pressure on his father and fellow co- owner George Gillett Jr to sell - especially at a time when their lack of investment in the team is under renewed focus.

Liverpool FC declined to comment on the matter but Sport of the World understands that Hicks Jnr sent a private apology last night.

Hicks jnr may have a point
