  1. If we paid him this £60k a week he is claimed to want it would mean us smashing our pay structure, once broken every agent of every first team squad member would be in with threats, unless you pay Fred so much he'll be off..............etc. That is a scenario the club just cannot afford, a he must know that

Saha is a very good player yet as Bill said today he looked anything but interested. On many occasions in today's match he could have passed to another player for them to score yet he wasted the ball every time, it was in my book the worse display of any Blue on that Park. If he goes to Arsenal, as is rumoured, I wonder how much that connection influenced his display today...................£60k a week, bye bye Louis you8 can do one lad

  2. Before I actually voted I initially intended to vote for Heitinga, then having watched it on Sky I was tempted toward Pip, then I thought Tim Cahill was having his best game of the season, I then changed my mind yet again and thought that the Pieman's goal was a thing of sheer class and beauty, in the end I voted for Mo, he was the best of a very good team display.................in future call him Mo the Motor, keeps going and if you get in his way he'll Mo(w) you down, Fellaini was a truly class act today

  3. The kids in school think I'm a bit mental because I go into work all year round in shorts. Although to be honest I've been pretty close to donning my tracky bottoms this week.

As for all the postponing of games, it's mostly due to fact that clubs are frightened to death of someone getting hurt on the way to the ground and suing em. Hopefully ours goes ahead... could really do without adding another game onto the back end of the season with our imminent run to the Europa League and FA Cup Finals aswell!!!

That is what has bhad me smiling about Liverpool, their match cancelled and they have a FA cup replay to face, if it goes ahead, FSW will be moaning before the weekend is out mate

  4. touching post jimmy!! amen to that:)

    Hi Mark

I really do rate the lad that highly. Watching on the box, I recorded it as well, I checked back on everything he did and he hardly put a foot wrong which is incredible. people suggest it was just Bate, last season and next they are in the C/L which from my point of view on serves to highlight how good the kid is, impressive, very very impressive :D

  5. I think this is getting to be a bit of a joke, its a farce.

Games all over the country are being called off, not because of a problem with the pitch, but problems outside the ground. It never happened in my day.

In 1963 we had a freeze that lasted over 3 months, well into April but at that time Goodison was one of the few grounds that had undersoil heating and we played every week, conditions outside the ground would not have stopped us going.

The theory in those days Bill was that 50,000 pairs of feet would soon clear the ice, and it did, Do you remember when some teams used to put coke burning braziers on their pitches, 100 plus would be lit creating there own environmental problem but they did get the job done, pansy's today, how many kids go to school in this weather with short pants, made men of you and you were bloody cold

  6. so there i am at 1:55 sat waiting for the 2:04 4 runcorn to euston. A big bloke in an everton tracky looking like chris woods walks past, followed by about 30 others. The whole fucking team ended up stood infront. Pienaar picks up a snowball and throws it at neville. Im still on the train now and they are all in the cart behind me.

Star struck bugger, I bet you were shouting to the Pieman, throw it at me Steve P,;) Was there any sign of Jo?

  7. Got up this morning to find we had no water and the combi boiler was not working. A hair drier on the mains pipe at point of entry solved that one, after a load of pissing around I eventually got to speak with a plumber who told how to drain the boiler, it is under warranty but the makers couldn't get to us in the next week ffs

  8. Sad to say the best tackling full back I ever say in the RBJ has died at home in Gretna. He was a stalwart of our 62/63 team and was known through out the leagues for his ability to slide a tackle and come out with the ball every time. The late George Best said the he was one of the few backs that scared him. Alex was never the quickest but what he did have was timing, superb timing. Injuries suffered in the RB cause meant that he spent many years on crutches and he eventually lost a leg last year. We used to call him the Falkirk Falcon, swoop and he have the ball, RIP Alex and thanks for being a truly great blue

  9. Yes i know that Ian, but in the meantime city go out and buy another keeper, Its Daft.

Like us loaning out Turner and Ruddy then looking for another goalie. Its even dafter.

Unfortunately Bill Nash, Ruddy and Turner are not good enough mate so Lewis will do for me as he could push Tim in the long term, the others no chance

  10. Some supporters wonder why we paid so much for Distin, he is good but only has two years or thereabouts in him. Young Duffy made the best debut at centre half I have ever seen in my 50+ years following the blues. If Labby was still alive he would have shook his hand for that performance against Bate, his timing was perfection, his reading of the game extraordinary for a lad so young and his demeanor up against proven C/L players was impeccable. He should be brought on slowly and learn from the likes of Distin and Yobo except his distribution already seems better than theirs. he is a class act and I really do look forward to seeing him break into the first team on a permanent basis the kid is that good, in two years time he will be a regular for the first team

  11. He was famous for the cartoon characters 'the Back entry diddlers' Bill, he also did postcards. A lot of cartoonists lived in Holmfirth which had the largest postcard printers in the country. Sorry to say I can find nothing much else about him mate, try leaving a question on the Echo website :D

  12. Its about 75of, solar heat rays are starting to warm the old skin, I've a shangria with lots of ice, the scent of summer flowers on the warm breeze with hint of a barbie being warmed up in the background and I'm sleep typing shit :o:(
