  1. hmmm. don't know how true this is, but i wouldn't be suprised given the fact that too old timers are keeping him out the team with at times not too impressvie performances.

If moyes had any eye on the future of the club he wouldn't be playing both of the older centre backs, weather they are playing well or not. there is no risk in playing joey, he's a top class player.

yes leaving him out encourages him to play better but if he never gets another chance then that's a waste of time isn't it!

  2. as we let 3 goals in last week i see no excuse for not putting yobo back in.

anichoebe on the bench instead of ferguson.

as i said in another topic, hopefully we can get a 2 goal lead. if we can then it would give moyes a chance to play anichoebe for 20 minutes as a good learning experience. we havne't got much money to be buying strikes so i think she would be trying to make the most of what we have.

  3. yeah agree with most of you here. he really is a waste of space.

that stupid push on saturday that got him booked after 2 minutes on the pitch just about summed him up!

No reason for it, no sense and there was nothing possitive in it at all!

Had VDM not got sent off then i think ferguson may have got a chance to make an impact as we'd have had some decent balls going into the box.

however i'm just glad that reina's wild and rather random swing at ferguson didn't catch him. otherwise our fine would have been much much bigger as he'd probably have broken his legs!

  4. Weir out yobo in.

    other that were fine.

i wouldn't mind seeing turner in for wright but it's unlikely to happen.

i'd like to see anichoebe on the bench, ferguson left out.

sunderland is a game we should easily win. though they've still been losing they haven't been getting stuffed so it could be resonably tough. however i we can get a 2-0 lead early on i'd replace mcfadden with anichoebe to give him valuable experience and to let moyes know what potential he's got for making the first team along side beattie.

  5. i haven't been in a fair while now.

However i was packing stuff to move house the other day and ended up flicking through various programmes that i have from mostly Everton games and the occasional other ones that i have been given from family. i came across the one from the first game i went to.

    Everton v Leeds 1992.

The year i think Leeds won the league.

as was the case for the first few blues games i've seen it was a pretty dull 0-0 draw.

the atmosphere though was electric and as an 8 year old from a small island that never sees more than 2 or 3 thousand people in the same place at the same time the whole event was amazing.

I can't tell you anything about the game now and with out the programme to hand i can't even remember which players were playing but it definately made me want to go back.

  6. did you see yobo sat on the bench on saturday?

he looked bloody pissed off everytime they showed him!

how longs valente out for? the second goal was the fault of naysmith for his poor defending and wright for his poor keeping, garcia shouldn't have been allowed through so easily.

  7. it was clearly accidental and by the letter of the law, a red card.

however with another ref it's one of those that may not have been given. so often people lead with arms and elbows and nothing happens.

anyone see kevin davis for bolton yesterday? he did a similar thing, elbow wasn't quite so prominant but clearly made impact as the other player came out with blood pouring down his face.

what happend i hear you ask...the player got angry and ran over to confront davis, davis pushed him away (raised arm). referee books the player with the bleeding face, davis gets nothing and no foul given!

you see inconsistancies in that jumping for header rule so often.

in any case this ref seemed to be looking to get his cards out at every opportunity, the game was nigly from the outset but he didn't handle it well and gave out far too many cards. the joke when i was watching was that everytime he blew up you never quite knew who he was going to decide to book, it was like he'd blow up and then look around for a reaction so that he could get his card out!

  8. no offence to the old boys at the centre of defence but i think yobo needs to play this one.

the rs have got a few players with pace like cisse that will skin stubbs and weir. also yobo would beat crouch every time in the air. he commands the air like it's his own and would make crouch look like he's just a midget when he's getting beat up there every time.

i know davey doesn't like to change a winning side but you've got to think about the opposition and tacticaly i don't see weir and stubbs doing the business.

hopefully arteta is fit by the weekend as that'd be a major loss if he was out.

  9. good on em.

at the end of the day both sides of the park are in fine form at the moment and despite the Brum being shite it's an awesome result for them which will give them a lot of confidence going into the weekend.

Doesn't bother me game wise though, I think it will be a close match but if we keep it tight at the back then we can do it.

  10. bizzare, but usually these rumours are driven by the bookmakers.

not a lot of interest has really been shown in the newcastle job and i'd imagine betting on the market has dropped. Big sam has been pushed as have a few others so now they're trying to push people on to backing moyes.

they know full well he wouldn't move to newcastle but if they can push it a bit people will bet on them.

personally i'm going to go and check the price on it so i can lay it (for those not au fais with such terms it means your basically playing as the bookmaker on somewhere like betfair. i'd be betting against moyes to become newcastle manager). by the end of the day he'll have publicly said he's not joinning them, the price will rocket!

if it was a rumour on joinning rangers i'd be a little worried but not newcastle.

  11. well given that both teams are scoring for fun at the moment i'm hoping there'll be a few goals in this game. the shite are on 8 from 2 games, were on 7.

someone on another topic mentioned ferguson being back, i hope we don't get to the point where we feel that we need him. as much as he's done good he's such a major liability especially in a game where tempers run high.

I think this will be Beattie's time to shine, he's on awesome form at the moment, works hard, is fit and fast, is making brilliant runs and winning virtually everything in the air. He is full of confidence and looks like he's really enjoying playing. he will without a shadow of a doubt score on Saturday.

the score 3-2 to the blues.

  12. so last night we lost 2-1 to the villa.

VDM played half a game and carsley played the whole match.

as it was in Birmingham i don't suppose anyone saw it did they?

also in the match report Christian seargeant was mentioned a few times.

I think he's been on the bench once or twice for the first team.

has anyone seen him, i think he plays in midfield.

is he up to scratch, does he have much of a chance of breaking into the first team, not that we really have any first choice vacancies at the moment in midfield!

also good to see anichoebe keeps scoring.

  13. moyes will rightly field the same team against villa that beat fulham.

but as i've said on the villa topic all it means is we've now got a stronger squad of players.

Carsley or yobo can be brought on if were winning and need to sure up at the back and in the middle.

VDM can be brought on if were behind or drawing.

one major slip up from the centre backs and i'd play yobo in the next game but VDM is best kept as a sub until fully fit. keep giving him reserve games, keep giving him 20-30 minutes in the first team.

Same with Vaughan, he won't be rushed back, hopefully we'll see him make a few appearences off the bench for the first team before the end of the season to keep him hungry over the summer!

  14. 1-0, beattie.

now some our injury worries are coming to an end we've got a much stronger squad.

i'm sure the same team will start that played at the weekend.

but we should have a fit Yobo on the bench if required, carsley who could be brought on to strengthn the midfield late on if were winning. and Van de Mayde to come on if were struggling attacking wise.

anyone read the interview with him on the offical site yesterday banging on about some run he did, taking on a couple of people, said he could have shot but as he wanted to claim goal of the day he tried to take on another couple of people! anyone that went to the game, did he look sharp when he came on?

  15. 3-0!!!

cracking goals from the sound of it.

lob from outside the box from beattie then according to stuart hall on the radio mcfadden did a similar type effort but better than beattie's!

    comeeee on lads!

lets see a hat trick beattie!

  16. wasn't the reserve match cancelled this week.

something on the offical site, i think it was this week said that naysmith, vaughan, carlsey and VDM were all due to play in the reserves game but it was cancelled.

  17. haahaha!

    i've beaten curveball level 8!

i'm up to 3rd place on the standings.

does anyone know if there is a group for people addicted to this game? i'm still playing it about 20 times a day and can't get enough of it! it's costing my work a lot of money to fund my habit!
