  1. i agree with most of your comments lads but do u think distin can play left back never seen him there myself.

i definitely think neville will be pushed to rb aswell and i can't believe DM never went in for cattermole for defensive mid think he was a snip at 6 million

lets hope we can get a centre half in anyway by the weekend cos with the pace wigan have i won't be comfortable with neville at centree half!

  2. obviously we need to replace lescott at centre half and alot of people are sayin we need to replace hibbert at right back but i think we desperately need cover for baines at left back. he is the only player capable of playing there (maybe neville too but wouldn't like him there) whereas we have a number of options at right back hibbert, neville, coleman, possible gosling and even jags when fit.

i wouldn't mind andrew taylor or julio arca from middlesbrough both good attacking full backs whilst arca can play left mid or centre also and they both wouldnt cost more than 3 million

  3. I've been calling for him to be signed for ages, as he is a versatile player and we all know Moyes loves those type of players. Portsmouth are in turmoil, but behind closed doors our board is running around like the keystone cops. Minimum fare would be 8 mill, but maybe with Vaughan thrown in a deal could be struck!

swap vaughan for vic and that would be better

  4. Argentine football halted by debt

Clubs such as Boca Juniors (left) and River Plate are affected by the delay

The start of the football season in Argentina has been delayed indefinitely because many of the clubs involved are heavily in debt.

The season had been due to kick off on 14 August, but the Argentine Football Association (AFA) said some clubs did not have enough money to pay players.

AFA President Julio Grondona said the situation was "very difficult".

Last week, clubs in the second division had the start of their season postponed for similar reasons.

"The executive committee of the AFA resolved unanimously tonight that the championships in all categories should not start on the scheduled dates," said a statement posted on the AFA website late on Tuesday.

The organisation said it was continuing to look for "a substantive solution" to the financial problems facing the clubs and that their decision "will not affect intelligent and dignified meetings to seek a solution satisfactory to both parties".

But the AFA said Argentina's involvement in the Copa Sudamericana, the regional South Americas tournament, would not be affected.

A friendly between Argentina and Russia on 12 August will also go ahead.

Argentine officials say the global economic crisis has had a big impact on clubs in the country, because they depend heavily on rich European teams buying their players.

Mr Grondona said an increase in revenue from television rights could help to ease the AFA's problems but had so far not been secured.

"The available resources cannot meet expenses. The situation is very difficult," he said.

in a funny way don't u wish this happened in england however only affecting the mega rich teams like chelski, man city, asenal and the shite!

  5. They're probably just taking a swipe at us because of how we dealt with them over the Garbutt deal.

wow i agree with u here romey leeds had a big go at us over the garbutt thing and tottenham also took danny rose off them i think so they probably refused to do business with us

doesn't look a bad deal for villa as rumours say paying 4 million up front, but they now seem to have three left wingers young, downing and delph. does this mean young could be on his way out

  6. Being an Everton fan and season ticket holder means I don't need the media to point out the mistakes our defenders make mate, so I don't really see your point.

I don't rate Senderos in the slightest, I think he's a liability, but if he signs then I live in hope for a big improvement because we'll need him to step in for pretty much the whole season with Jags out for a good while, Joey going to the ACN and Lescott probably leaving.

well where are you getting it from that senderos is a liability, the media by any chance? or do u watch every single second of every arsenal match to rate him like this. my argument is from what i've seen of senderos is that he's a good defender, ok he has made mistakes but so have our current defenders, he is youger than all our current crop and is only going to improve!

  7. do u think moyes is holding out til later in the transfer window for ledley as if he doesn't sign a contract cardiff may get desperate before the august deadline and drop their £6 million asking price. we definitely need left sided cover, just look at the coventry game fellaini playing left mid your havin a laugh!

also wot if baines gets injured, no left side at all!

  8. It's not blind ignorance having a difference of opinion. I don't think you're ignorant for forgetting about his numerous howlers, you're entitled to your view.

you only remember his howlers because arsenal are always in the spotlight, look how many howlers lescott, yobo, and even jags occasionally make(villa last season) but because we are not top 4 or fighting for the title they dont get the national media circus jumping all over them. just look at tim howard before he came to us. goalkeeper of the year in his 1st season with united then makes a coule of high profile mistakes and all of a sudden he's the worst goalkeeper in the prem.footbal fans in this country just read the headlines in the back of the paper about another howler, or watch a 30 second clip on motd of alan hansen commenting on bad defending and take that viewpoint.

senderos will be a good buy for the blues whether it be if lescott stays or goes

  9. I really dont know what the problem is with Senderos yes he is far from world class and prone to the odd mistake but then again non of our current crop are world class nor do they never make mistakes.

He's still young enough to iron out flaws in his game or at least improve in certain area's, He also has a good number of games under his belt at the highest level and his experience in Europe will surely come in handy. I like Lescott he's a good defender but nothing more he's far from world class unlike some seem to be making out since City came knocking and looks half the player when not paired with Jags and im quite confident Moyes can find someone to fill his boots is it Senderos who know's if the rumour is true then i guess time will tell.

spot on there mate, can't stand some of the blind ignorance of some of the so called blue noses on this forum!

  10. If we'd signed this donkey then Everton would have confirmed it by now. If we're even after him there must still be details to be sorted out.

how do you come to the conclusion that senderos is a donkey! he has played for one of the top four in england regularly for 5 years and had one season at one of the biggest clubs in the world (milan). his first couple of seasons at arsenal he looked class and then went off the boil slightly due to a couple of high profile mistakes, also over the last few years at arsenal their defence has had no real protection as the likes of viera and gilberto have been allowed to leave and nobody has replaced them leaving the defence more exposed. even seasoned professionals like gallas and toure have looked poor at times for arsenal

i'm not saying the lads a world beater but he would be a good addition whether lescott stays or goes

by the way it weren't too long ago that lescott was atrocious and many blues were calling for him to be droppped cos his form was so bad, so i think you're goin a bit o.t.t. with that comment mate

  11. Hallam has been in action again for the U18's last week (25/7/09). He's now pretty much a regular for them.

Then was on standby for England U17's but wasn't called up for the Norway tournament.

Playing again for his usual age group (1994's) in the N.I. Milk Cup. Which Everton won again for the second year running.

    tb63

Hallam finished the tournament with 5 goals scoring two in the final and received rave reviews again.give him two years and he will b knockin on moyes door for a 1st team place.

" EVERTON comfortably retained their Milk Cup Junior title last night with Hallam Hope coming agonisingly close to writing himself into the history books.

The strapping striker bagged a brace in last night’s 4-1 win over Sheffield United, but just missed out on becoming the first ever player to net a hat-trick in back-to-back finals, having scored a treble in last year’s 3-0 win over Wolves.

The young striker will surely go on to have a big future in the game and he showed once again last night that he certainly has an eye for goal.

It was the Toffees fourth Junior title overall at the Milk Cup having been one of the competition’s best supporters down the years.

A beaming Everton boss Sean Lundon said: “We’re delighted to win again, it s new experience for most of them, having come away with a mainly new squad”

“Hallam Hope has done very well, but we won’t be getting too get exited, he has plenty of potential, but he will have plenty of opportunities to keep proving it too.

“This is fantastic competition and we learn a lot about the boys when we’re away together for the week.

“It’s demanding and it is a long week, but we do everything right and that helps us do well I think.”

Hope took only four minutes to pick up where he left off at last year’s tournament when he raced into the penalty area, when he eventually shrugged off a defender before rounding goalkeeper Dalian Davis and slotting home.

Everton were almost caught out soon after but a clearing header on the line from Ryan Higgins denied Watford .

The Toffees doubled their lead when Chris Long who hooked the ball out of Davis ’ reach after Higgins’ corner had been headed on inside the box.

Hope was on the prowl again as Everton made it three before the break when the keeper spilled the ball in the direction of Hope and he dispatched it into the net.

With the game over as a contest Anton Forrester cheekily lobbed Davis to add a fourth 20 minutes from the end, as he got beyond the defence to get on the end of a deep free-kick.

Hope wasted the opportunity to make history with back to back final hat-tricks when he skied a free kick from 18 yards near the end.

Oliver Sprague snatched a late consolation for Watford but it was too little too late."

  12. Not very often Bluekipper give a 4 star rating to a rumour and are wrong, they will have insiders in club, heard many negatives about Micah in last year, hope we get some stringent performance/disciplinary conditions in the contract. May have just needed new start and wanted Chelsea a year or two ago.

tbh micah had a fantastic euro's for the u-21s and i've always liked him.ok his character might be under question but his talent his undoubted

  13. Agree with Everton_Worshiper ..... didn;t want him the first time and he has shown nothing to say he would make a big impact here. Had lots of potential, but my West Ham mates say he was always a bit "big" on himself. Got his move to villa, spent most of the season on the bench. Bit like Sidwell.

    No thanks

agree with you mate i remember seein mtv cribs with him on it and he came across as an absolute gobshite. big time charlie.

anyway can't c villa sellin at the moment

  14. ok then mate, i see you have proved yourself right. oh no, wait a minute, spurs had pav and bent infront of him, neither was scoring on a regular basis and he still never got in, it was only later on when harry came in that defoe and keane got there too.

i'd like to say that lescott, cahill and baines made their name in the prem. lescott was hardly a big name before we signed him, cahill had played in the fa cup final and not much else, and baines did well at wigan before coming here.

but please dont tell me the championship or the belgian league can live up to the premiership.

i dont think vic is better than you for fuck sake, but i think vaughan will have a bigger and better career that campbell.

just ask, why has no body else gone for him? this kid that is so talented, that united made no attempt to keep him, could not get in a poor spurs side, and got no interest from anybody other than the massive hull city!

darren bent 17 goals in 42

    pavlyuchenko 14 goals in 32

both players heavily used as substitutes! mmm they never scored many!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when spurs are fighting for relegation who are they gonna play an unused 20 year old kid or their experienced multi million pound striker

listen i could argue all summer about this but u have completely missed my point. frazier campbell is better than vaughan and vic and would improve our squad if we signed him, simple as that, whether u rate him or not is a different matter!

  15. yeah, lets be honest, he can score goals, at antwerp and in the championship. hes had a very bad year, he could not even get in a struggling spurs team!!!

at spurs he had 4 £15 million strikers ahead of him in the pecking order so he's obviously going to struggle to get in! if the belgium league and the championship are so poor how come most of our players have made their name at that level; lescott, jagielka, fellaini, cahill, baines!

do you think vaughan and vic are better than him?

  16. He's not developed enough (body size) to play as often as Rodwell did last season. So, like I said, it'd mean we'd had another bad summer if he's appearing fairly regularly for us next season.

thinks thats a poor excuse for not playing someone of his ability, jose is the same build as pienaar and osman and when i have seen him he actually looks quite ferocious and strong for his size. i think moyes just thought he was too young to play much last season but he will be a regular on the bench next season hopefully getting a few run outs late on in games we are winning and in the cups

  17. his record is not 1 in 2, 91 games, 41 goals. if that was a premier league record id say yes, lets go for it. but most of these were at antwerp and in the championship. his prem record is 1 in 10.

if, and its a big if, he was all that good, why would united want shut? they dont need the money.

lets be honest the lad can score goals, all i'm saying is h's better than vaughan and anichebe. the lad looks like he wants to move himself because it will take him a while forcing his way into the united team as they already have welbeck who is a similar player. i would rather have someone like campbell than michael owen!!!
