  1. was watching setanta before and stuart pearce was singing the praises of frazier campbell saying there's a good chance he'll be seeing him in future england squads.

i've always liked campbell and altough he hasn't done much at spurs on loan he never really got a chance. hull have had a 6 million bid accepted for him but the lad doesn't want to make a decision til after the euro's. surely would be a good signing for us adding something different to forward line.

  2. Eden Hazaerd (if thats how you spell it) plays for Lille only young nineteen or twenty. If you put him on you tube and watch his skill he plays like Ronaldo!! absolutely looks mint and we should snap him up now before he goes to one of the big boys. Belgium to so Felli could have a word i think he plays down the right.

yes he does look class but the only negative is skill players in the french league often don't make it in the prem take b.cheyrou and a.tarbart (spurs)

  3. i think j-rod may leave everton at some stage in his career if he develops into the player we all know he can be, however now is way to early for him to move on. he wouldn't develop as fast at the mancs purely due to the fact he won't play as much and he is different to rooney as rooney was already a excellent player at the age of 18 where as jack still has a long way to go.

the club should resist all offers for the remainder of his 5 years and we have'nt become a force to be reckoned with by then, sell him on for £25-30 million

  4. maybe, it didnt look like we had around 11 million to spend when we signed yakubu, one thing Ive learnt though is to not count anything out.

Also, not saying this is going to happen but if that proposed peter reid takeover occurs we may get a large bit of money to spend

i know mate u never know with this club and board, last summer just sums it all up

  5. It was hardly a classic. England put a good shift in without ever looking brilliant. Spain looked very average and their lack of fire power up front was painfully obvious. England definatly deserved the win though. Hopefully the Germany game should be a cracker. COYB

agree with you their jamie. they are definitely a 'stuart pearce' team. hard working, dogs of war at times with that little bit of flair added in at times

  6. I want us to get that Marcus Berg - the sweedish u21 who scored a hat-trick, he looks quality and he's meant to be good in the air. He'd prob only be £5m (ish) now as he's at a shite dutch team - he looks a good all-rounder.

marcus berg fits the bill for me too, he would fit in well i n our team. don't think he has agreed to leave groningen yet but i've heard he will more than likely stay in or holland and move to a top club like ajax. he would prob cost about 10 mill

  7. just watched south africa vs new zealand and pienaar looked outstanding, completely head and shoulders above the rest on the field. interseting to c him play almost a free role (attacking mid) cos he ran the show from there.

on another note the crowd were nuts doing all these african tribal dances and shouting BOOOOOOOOOOTH! everytime the big white guy at the back got a touch of the ball (i thought they were actually booing him in a racist way cos he is the only white guy in their team until the commentator pointed it out they were shoutin his name lol)

  8. Jack Rodwell was a late sub as England Under-21s began their European Championships campaign with a narrow 2-1 win over Finland.

Everton man Rodwell was not selected in the starting XI but emerged with six minutes left to help England weather a late Finnish onslaught.

thought i'd start this topic so we keep tabs on big jack during the championships. he has a good chance of startin the next game but at centre back cos mancienne got sent off and richards went off injured. also team captain onouha is injured. even if he doesn't start i still think he will gain some vital experience being out there.

  9. hmm...forgot about those lol for watever reason i thought Vermaelen was Dutch? i suck :(

    easy mistake mate

i seen an article last nite about dressing room rifts between the young lads and the old guard in the belgium camp, with the older lads sayin the young ones have a bad attitude towards international football. i'm sure thats somethin big Dick can sort out!

  10. My thoughts exactly, Hazard, Fellaini, Defour, Witzel, Kompany, De Laet...maybe a few more! I might see how they do in Quals, then a cheeky tenner might go with...:)

there's also dembele(linked with chelsea), vermaelen (arsenal had 10 million bid), vertonghen(ajax)

also dick advocaat has been confirmed as their new coach so they will be a force in 4 years without a doubt

  11. Eden Hazard - Young Belgium player, attacking Mid. Very quick and has a beautiful touch. Plays for Lille and won young french footballer of the year...looks very tidy. Reminds me of that jap-eye thats goin Madrid...

wow this guy looks quality. he suits the bill for us to lay left or right mid, wonder how much he'd cost?

by the way how many good young prospects seem to be coming out of belgium at the moment, they could be decent outsiders for the next euro championships with the young talent they have

  12. Velthuizen: Talented keeper. He's a showkeeper (don't know if this is a English expression), you can compare him a bit with Peter Schmeighel..

Marcus Berg: imo the best striker in the dutch league atm. He scores a lot, scores beautiful goals and under Fc Groningen's this year's manager, he learned to work hard as well.

Only thing is that he sometimes is a bit of a nasty player. Arrogance, hard fouls (little work with the elbow), and sometimes a dive.

You can see him as a mix between Zlatan and Huntelaar, at his own level ofcourse.

how much would berg cost (£10 million do u think) because he looks like a player who would do well in the prem

  13. Well thats not what the medical staff at Everton are saying so unless you have some inside info!

to be honest i don't but i was going along the grounds that these injuries are always given the longest possible recovery time and then remarkably the player comes back a couple of months before they were expected, thats what i'm hopin anyway!

also on the richards thing the lad is still learning his trade and alot of the best players have gone through phases like that (terry, ferdinand and even lescott himself i'm led to believe). i just think if you compare where richards is at his stage in his career now he is much better player than lescott was at that age and under moyes' guidance he would only get better

  14. with moyes' new wengerish scouting network emerging over the past few months i thought i'd add a few suggestions myself of good youngsters who we would do well to sign and would be realistic targets:

-john fleck-17, scottish 'wayne rooney' at rangers already in their first team, AM or 2nd striker and left footed

-james mcCarthy-18, scottish CM plays for hamilton, just been voted SPL young player of the year i believe (£3 million)

-anders randrup-20, RB for FC Brondby but can also play LB very attacking and apparantly the best Danish prospect since Dan Agger

-alex tettey-23, box to box CM plays for Rosenborg, similar to essien but with more of an eye for goal.recent full norway international after changing his allegiances from ghana

-cheick diabate-21, 6ft 3 in Mali striker raw talent but loaned to ajacco from bordeaux in the french league this season, played 27 scored 12

-robert lewandowski,20, polish striker 6ft 1 in, plays for lech poznan, compared to torres, played 45 scored 19

-piet velthuizen 22, dutch Gk at vitesse arnhem, voted dutch gk of the year solid prospect

marcus berg 22, 6ft 1in swedish striker torres style, 33 goals in 55 games for FC groningen in the dutch league

    what do ya's reckon? :)

  15. Richards & Jo are crap so I wouldnt go near that deal

Also if we sold Lescott for £18M and replaced him with the 3 players you suggested we would have to play until December with only one CB

i think thats a bit over the top that mate. 12 months ago richards was rated at £20 million and on of the best defenders in england and Jo proved that he has the potential to score 15-20 prem league goals a season given a good run like he had at everton. if both these players were brought in early they would get a good pre season learning how to play the moyes way. don't get me wrong i would prefer to keep lescott and bring these playersz in but thats never going to happen

on top of that richards can play centre back(has done for city and england), rodwell is actually a centre back playing midfield and i think jagielka will be back before december!

  16. although i would love to keep lescott an £18 million offer would be hard to turn down. i.m sure with this type of money DM would find a good enough replacement and leave some change to go back in for moutinho.

on the other hand i would also say yes to a swap deal including micah richards, michael johnson and possibly Jo on loan for another year
