  1. What I'm saying is Moyes surely wont want to spend a third of the remaining 15mil-ish after Bilya, on a 31-yr-old defender when he can use the 15mil to get better, younger players. It would be a waste to spend this type of money on Distin, unless Bill has found some money to burn. Signing Distin completely goes against everything Moyes has tried to build. Fair enough we need experience and cover but surely we could have got that from Campbell for free, no point in wasting valuable cash on someone who breaks Moyes' policy. EDIT: Thats providing that Moyes actually gets the entire sum of Lescott's fee.
  2. Unless BK has found a couple of million pound in an old pair of jeans (as you do) I cant see us getting Distin for 5mil. I think it's obvious that Villa want him after they have lodged formal bids, letting him go to Villa isnt going to stop them bidding for someone else though e.g. Taylor because Villa don't have the financial 'brick wall' that we have. We need to go to Newcastle with a Private Bid that they cant refuse, so nobody gets any wind of it taking place (could have already happened) and make sure they keep it private! I have no doubt we will have new faces for the Wigan game at CB. Look what Burnley done to us for Christ's sake, we need them!
  3. That's what I meant, that the Spanish clubs don't give nothing away. They tend to get a replacement in first and then say that the player is surplus to requirements! I dont think Moyes will have made it up though, theres no smoke without fire (that's rich, i know, coming from an everton transfer forum) but surely there isnt at that level of the club? Your normally lucky to find anything out from the club apart from Ramsey/Naughton we didnt know about Felli/Saha/Nash last year until theyd signed in!
  4. I dont want to rock the boat but I don't hink Hangeland is the best option, if the 10mil being touted is his actual valuation, i would much prefer us to get Taylor and Senderos or Wheater. For a 28 year old, 10mil is a lot considering the others are younger and have the potential to get better! Id prefer Taylor to be honest.
  5. To the tune of Super 'Kevin Campbell' (just an example.) Billy - Billy Ah Billy - Billy Ah Billy - Billy Ah Billy - Ah - Let - Dean - Off! What you think?
  6. I must admit I was very impressed with this guy in the Euro's last year. I took a special interest in Russia as I had 20 quid on them to win it, and also pulled them out in the draw in work! I thought he made Arshavin look good to be honest, he would always pick him out from wherever he was and make the runs that split the defenders, usually ending up with Arshavin or whoever scoring. I felt sorry for him as he never seemed to get given a mention, I thought he was very under-rated! Will be a good signing for us, if it ever gets comlpeted.
  7. Its normally: Agree Fee - Work Permit/Documentation - Signing Complete. (SHORT STORY) I think this is a done deal to be honest. Like ive said previously, I'm sure that the same thing happened with Manny and Mikel before they signed!
  8. It is embarassing but its a spanish thing, they always maintain that no deals are in place until the player leaves, if i remember rightly same thing happened with Arteta and Fernandes! I still expect him to sign!
  9. To be honest, I'm not sure on this lad at the moment, reading what previous managers have said etc. he seems to struggle with life, as he had a 'difficult' childhood and cant settle outside of Argetina! I would really like us to sign this lad, even if he is cup-tied, he can play later on in the competition, providing we get there. My cousin got sent home from work in manchester the other day ,as they had to close the site he was on. As it wasnt his fault, the company paid for him to get the train back 1st class. He said he seen Moyes get on the train with everton staff and a young-ish lad with dark hair (not a current everton player). my cousin couldnt get close enough to hear them talking but he said they were going through files etc. I thought this may have been Banega but if he played last night, it mustnt have been him...wonder who it was, possibly an agent? This is genuine, and i dont want to get all the abuse of being a liar etc... i am merely adding to the rumour!
  10. Not sure about this one to be honest...I can see it being a Loan deal with option to buy again.
  11. Hes never played a full game has he?ha To be fair him and Casillas are probably the only ones who have been at Real for more than 5 years! I dont think anybody going there can actually expect to spend their who career there...I cant see Ronaldo staying there forever!! He'll get bored after a few years and probably go to Inter or AC Milan!
  12. Just found this. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_5492074,00.html
  13. Fair enough! I heard Man City were signing Elvis on a 3 Year Deal!
  14. Does this condition apply to this transfer window only? I think we may need to set up a policy for this ha Also, I second the regards to the Van Der Vaart family!
  15. The expected exception to the rule... ha well to be fair Portsmouth are not the best but there arent many exceptions to the rule in the Prem/Champs League etc.
  16. Good shout! I never Wiki footballers, i Wiki teams occasionally if we draw them i.e Larissa/Sigma but I searched Banega to see if there was anything there......but there wasn't!
  17. Don't get me wrong, Man City will be challenging for something, but I think to win a trophy you have to be The Best, and whether City are The Best at the moment is what I would question. The team is a great team but just like the beginning of last season they could struggle. I think if City dont win anything this season, Mark Hughes will be gone, and then it's up to whoever follows him to start again...the pressure of that job must be pretty intense.
  18. I dont think anybody will go to Newcastle now. 2 weeks before transfer window ends, no money to spend, big names left/leaving. I cant see them coming back up straightaway... that's what im hoping Steven Taylor is thinking anyway!
  19. Agreed! I can see us getting Taylor though to be honest, but that would probably mean 'Goodbye' to Joleon, but then we would have 2 quality English CB's (when Jags is back) and a 'sum' of money to spend. I thought Moyes might try and get St Ledger from Preston, but he would probably just put Neville there if we needed him anyway!
  20. Will Lescott get a positive or negative reaction today? Personally, I think he was very stupid to put in a written transfer request, after being told he wasnt leaving. I expect a large 'boo' when his names read out today! Just wanted the thoughts of others? Its not like the Rooney scenario though, at least that 'fat, little knobhead' went with ambition to win things, but Lescott can hardly say he's going there to win things (there not even in Eurpe!)
  21. Were lucky to sign 5 players a season these days! Not interested in Huth, would much prefer Taylor...and even Wheater before Huth!
  22. Loan Deal + option to buy= Moysey special! I can see we don't have a lot of Defenders but we have enough Defensive Midfielders... and now heres another! EDIT: ...Potentially!
  23. True, it seems that he is one of the only top footballers around that isnt primarily motivated by dollars!!! A characteristic that not many top players can boast. Also, he will be coming to the 5th best team, in the best league in the world!
  24. Just a thought, but when I was 'watching' the Holland - England game on Wednesday, I heard that Van Der Vaart's Wife has had the misfortune of being diagnosed with breast cancer. Van Der Vaart has already stated that his next club will be chosen with her treatment in mind, and seing as the Royal and Broadgreen hospitals are a specialist cancer Trust, with the Linda McCartney centre at the royal one of the pioneers in breast cancer research, that might attract him to our city. Whether it's us or 'those from over there' he chooses, is a different matter, but that might make the amazing youtube video (if Jamie keeps to his word!ha) a bit closer than first thought! Sorry for the long post!!
  25. Is this source usually reliable? It would be an excellent signing in my opinion but i just hope that he does have as same amount of "loyalty", to the club that he apparently supports, as Rooney did for us! I realise it's a completely different situation but hey... if he is loyal we shall have to look elsewhere! http://www.inthenews.co.uk/sports/sports/sport/football/transfer-gossip/friday-s-transfer-rumour-mill-$1318832.htm not sure if anybody has already seen this one... more realistic price range!
