I would imagine that long term we would be looking at a defence of:-
Heitinga Jags Distin Baines
Not too bad really. Possible ful team of
Howard
Heitinga Jags Distin Baines
Pienaar Neville Arteta Bily
Cahill
Yak
Bench from:-
Nash, Yobo, Hibbo, Fellaini, Rodders, Ossie, Jo, Saha, Goose, Vic, Vaughny.
Having options on bench would be stunnig. Even at the wigan game we saw the differenfce having someone like Felli come on and changing a game. Felli as an impact player actually excites me as well.
Is everybody here placing Yak up front ahead of Saha??? Im certanly not. Yak is great but Saha is king...
I can actually see Heitinga as captain material and Neville on the bench. Rodders on instead and Saha up front. Shame to put Neville on the bench, would prefer it if we could play with 12 players hahaha

I think DM is way off the mark here. He is after all playing Osman in a different position. Osman is not a good winger, he is a hell of an evertonian tho. It does seem unfair by DM.

kent about 45mins from the place, Horley huh? thats near Crawley right?
I grew up in kent about 60 min from gatwick.. Tiny place called Cranbrook.
Anyways, I think that we are going to get Johnny boy. And perhaps one more today....

Fulham are closing in on Rasmus Elms oldest brother David Elm (the guy with the blog that some of you posted in)
I dunno what Fulham are up to or if they are confusing him with Rasmus not realizing that he went to Alkmaar because David Elm is nowhere near as good as Rasmus and nowhere near good enough for EPL.

i think everton played a great game up to the last 20 yards or so. No focus in the finishing. Saha was ok. Rodwell played a cracker of a game. Dystin looked stable. I thought Hib played good apart from the goal. Pienaar mom in my eyes.
Bily didnt touch the ball, but neither did osman and he was on a lot longer.

Would we really sign Distin, Wheater and Heitinga?
Highly doubt it.
The news was posted this morning, after the Distin deal so thats what they are saying. I agree that it sounds funny, but then again, we have let a lot of goals in so far. DM might want a total change hahaha
-
According to Aftonbladet we already have signed Wheater for 7 mil. And they are also quoting Daily Mail which say that we have signed Heitinga aswell.
"09.30: David Wheater går till Everton från Middlesbrough för 81 miljoner kronor. Evertonmanagern ska enligt Daily Mirror också ha köpt holländaren Johnny Heitinga, 25, från Atletico Madrid. "

hoping for first 3 pointer, but it will be close. 1-0 Cahill in the 68th.
Pienaar man of match.
-
If this happens it will be brilliant, I think that he is pure class. We get the dutch league on telli here in sweden and ive seen him play loads of times. I actually rate him as high as Lescott. Or as he was a couple of years ago which was better than now.
Brilliant signing if it happens.

Actually think that Group J is even weaker :
Shakhtar
Club Brugge
Partizan
Toulouse
But Everton shouldn't have much problems advancing IF the blues are careful with BATE .. The risk of underestimating them, plus the fact that they play very hard nosed style of football might get us in trouble.
I would say that Partizan could be a nightmare to any team. And the supporters are really awfull. Toulouse is not a bad side either. One of the better 4th seeds..
Im happy with they group we have. Benfica are an awsome team and portugese people are excellent. Visited Lisabon a couple of years back. THere is an excellent restaurant at a castle on the top of the hill. And the night clubs in the harbour (more local places than the tourist traps) are brilliant. Lots of dancing and happy people.
AEK Athens ahh, Greece, love greece. The food alone....

Group H
Steaua Bucarest
Fenerbahce
Twente
Sheriff Tiraspol
Would have liked to be in this group instead of Fenerbahce... But all in all, not a bad draw. One of the best groups i think. Big hopes of going through to the next round.

Travelodges are cheap if you book in advance (http://www.travelodge.co.uk/).
http://www.premierinn.com/pti/home.do?CMP=KNC-Google_brand are also good but normally a little more expensive.

oops. edited answer in post by accident. sorry. was not really concentrating
Haha.
The 02 academy isnt that far away either... Sounds like a good day out.
Recommend any hotels?
-
Yes. Saw the stretch on the site, so tickets will be released in about 3-4 weeks time...
The Brick, anywhere near Goodison?
Thanx for help.
About 3 minute walk away.
-
For Villa you shouldn't have much of a problem.
How quick should i be? When are tickets released? Which pubs are the best where supporters go before games nowadays?
-
Im just wondering if it is easy to get tickets to home matches?
Im thinking of coming over to England for the game on the 31st october (Aston Villa)
My brothers band "Soft Toy Emergency" are playing a gig at the academy that night so it would be cool to combine an everton game with that gig.
-
I think he is a great signing....
Would however like to see Taylor at everton aswell.

Everton have agreed a three-year-deal with Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin, with the Frenchman set to undergo a medical on Thursday.

How has the Yak been? I gathered that Ryan has done a good job at RB? Could take over from Hib perhaps??
Best player today then??
-
One minute plus extra time.
Nothing to run around looking for links about
haha, fair enough, still 1-1?
-
Any links, followed the one American posted, but it led to a serie a game, how long is it left on the clock?
-
...cant believe youve just done that to me - he was my choice and i thought he was all mine! Cant believe he actually played in an fa cup final for us! He was shocking!
he was truely awfull

As a swede it hurts to admit that Alexandersson sucked big time. Linderoth also sucked at everton, shame because he later turned out to be a cracking player and one of the most important in the swedish national squad.
The only Swede to succeed at everton was Limpar, and he was nowhere near as good as he was at arsenal.
Another swede, Stefan Rehn wasnt bad tho but to uneven.
No one has mentioned Bakayoko yet.
What about Jon Oster?
Nick Barmby?
When legend Sheedy left he was replaced by Ian Wilson. Which would be my vote for worst player ever.
Worst manager ever?? Walter Smith

Gonna be strange to sit down to a game at that time.
Any volunteers to tell my wife she can't watch Neighbours ?
Ill do it, in fact I should start a facebook group stating that no-one is allowed to watch neighbours, ever...
(Well not since hottie Imbruglia left the program anyways.)
