Neil Lennon hardly ruled himself out today
-
Maybe martinez wanted to have full control. He would get that here. Maybe he didn't want to take over at a club that would sack him after 1 season...
I think Everton would be a good fit for him.
Yep that's why he turned it down, surprised Zola hasn't been touted he done a great job at Watford or Poyet at Brighton. Maybe we are at the stage we need to bring in someone more experienced to build on the platform Moyes built.
I fear Moyes will come back in for a few of our players:-(
-
Oh well, it looks like the ball is now rolling, lets face it we all knew this scenario may come along one day and unless BK can suddenlly produce a blank cheque from somewhere Moyes will go to Man U if offered, he would be crazy not too imo. My worry is that does this mean Baines will go with him? Felli was always going to go in the summer anyway, but it looked as if Baines would stay. Id hope that if he did go along with Felli and maybe even Heitinga, that the new manager( Martinez?) gets all the cash back to strenghten the squad, there should be at least £40m from those 3, allocated straight into the team. Kenwright can keep the banks happy with money from the new tv deal and any prize money gained from this year.
If it is Martinez he can bring that McCarthy with him, he looks very promising.
Agree, plus if Rooney goes we get a sell on fee :-)
-
my bigger concern is that given he is out of contract he could in theory come in for the likes of Jags, Baines and Fellaini, i fear losing them more than Moyes.
-
Good move we need a squad.
-
As been said... Fergie is staying on as director / ambassador.. would be too much of a clash with Jose. I think Moyes is someone SAF thinks he can work with and groom. Unless they promote Giggs, or bring back Hughes or Keane?
cant see any of them being in the frame TDH.
-
Klopp is a good shout, someone who has actually won stuff and has proven to encourage youth to play at the highest level...
Good call but i cant see him leaving Dortmund yet, Mourinho looks to be off to Chelsea especially based on Rafa's comments, leaving the door open for Moyes, especially to be groomed as said here under Fergie's careful eye, its well known Moyes wants to challenge himself at a higher level and sadly we cant give him a level playing field.
Hopefully if he goes he sells Rooney for 50m so we get some money for the new manager to sell.
As for who we get in (if he goes)would love laudrup but cant see it given he signed a new contract, Martinez is a good shout, Liverpool wanted him ahead of Rodgers which shows his stature, Bilic is unproven at club level and would be a gamble same with Poyet...
I would just like a decision either way, as the lack of clarity cant be helping the squad push for Europe.
-
no he would be no 2 to Fergie ?
-
Didnt there chariman say highest earner is 65K per week so i dontt think Samba is on 100k, tho i know all the issues stem from he is on this and im better than him etc etc..
I would take Remy i think he looked half decent in a crap team and has bags of pace, not sure if he has rel release fee or of his age..
-
Jolean will not be enough. You can let Johnny go, but I reckon Sylvain won't stay for too long neither, definitely if the main central couple would be Jags-Lescott. After next summer, EFC should already look into buying yet another new central defender if nothing new turns up from the youth.
yep 100% agree, doesnt look like anything turning up from youth either outside what we already know.
-
Not for me as above give him to Stoke
-
cant see Moyes going as No 2
-
yep they are there for the taking we need to take 6th spot and a win will confirm that and hope for Chelsea win Europa league.
-
benteke or lukaka for me a big powerful forward who can finish too, Vic had two clean chances one against Spuds and one against Arse that if he finished could have meant we won the match.
-
agree on this, not good enough for us and i would say Moyes will sign a new contract too he is playing a game of poker with the board and in theory he holds the aces. hope he wins as it means the club is going in the right direction and backing him financially. As Haf said if he goes and we got in wither Martinez/Laudrup i would be happy.
-
what i dont get is how are we linked with players when we dont have a manager next season yet?
-
is Baines vocal enough?
-
Big Vic for me to, he spooned me last night so that gave me the final vote.
On a serious note him and Jags were brilliant today, the fact that Jags was with him at the end giving him some type of pep talk at the end hows what he thought of his display, he bossed two England Capped centre halves all game.
-
based on maoyes after Vlad last window its clear he wants and we need energy in the middle of the park we havent had a box to box midfielder in years really excited out the prospect of our midfield when all fit.
-
-
Lets hope he goes and we use the money for Butland
-
would love this one to come off and as said loan him back, Redmond too is a pacey winger if we got both of these at a cut price along with Fer and then a loan striker ill .... pinch myself until i wake up
-
love the BBC comments:
Fer has made two full appearances for the Netherlands, where he is nicknamehehed "The Bouncer" bece of his physical strength
Well if we get a striker and a winger on loan ill be happy
-
Back on to Capoue (kind of) - surely Sissoko who we've watched a few times is a more likely target with him being a free agent in the summer and the club seemingly ready to cash in rather than loose him for nothing.
Agreed cut price deal...
Martinez confirmed as new manager

Agree but our appointment could lead to a snow ball of appointments too.
That said i would prefer him over Hughes, Lennon, internal promotion for Neville, Dunc, Stubbs etc also.
