  1. Cheap wages, free transfer, we could use another half decent (which I think he is a top player) central midfielder.

Fair enough I agree I think hes a bit of a C***! However, he wants to play for the passion of his team now, lets give him a season and see how he gets on!

i agree with this, whilst he is not cheap he is on par with most of the midfielders we have been linked with both salary and ability wise just less the fee. if we take him i would be with clauses around behaviour etc as people would be out to goad him and try and bring the old joey barton out, and as much as he mellowed out we are all human !

  2. Gibson was not the fittest most played bloke in the world and he looks like a potential captain now.

Theres obviously something there, man u payed 20 mil for him 6 years ago. He is only 25, if he gets regular matches he will still be worth more than 7 mil in a couple of years time. Sell him on then, get the money back.

Agree with this logic, he has shown glimpses for being a good player but is very injury prone.

  3.

Ah you lead me nicely into a justification here Dunc.

The reality is that we could compete at a level higher than what Moyes wanted us to believe. The knife to a gunfight analogy angered me. Moyes in reality had built himself a homemade pistol that could do a job (fair play) - he had the bullets - he just lacked the bottle to fire the thing in case he got shot.

Martinez at Wigan on the other hand did take a knife to a gunfight, he sharpened that knife, learned how to use it and took a few gun toting cowboys out with it. Yeah, he got shot in the end whilst Moyesy was busy hiding behind a wagon. He didn't get shot but he didn't shoot anyone.

Martinez has now been reincarnated as gun toting cowboy, and he's gonna learn how to get the best out of his new gun. Meanwhile Moyesy is in charge of a gattling gun, my guess is he will spend his time trying not to get shot rather than turning the handle and shoooting away.

Moyes made more of his financial limitations than he should have done, he dealt with those limitations well in terms of acquiring talent. What he didn't do was utilise that talent well enough. Martinez was ridiculously financially limited compared to Moyes.

    :guns:

  4. If he uses similar tactics we could see something on the lines of this. Don't know if it would work, but going forward we'll be a force, would need Felli to dip back and allow Baines/Coleman forward and Barkley to do Maloney's role, but on the opposite side.

    ------------------Howard

    ------Coleman Heitinga Baines

    -------------Gibson Fellaini

    Pienaar-----------------------Oviedo

    -----Barkley Jelavic Mirallas

    No Jags?

  5. bit cynical mate! but I wouldnt worry, if this is the type of rumour coming out, hes not going anywhere. Like previously mentioned - no quotes and a bullshit pricetag.

There was a rumour a few years ago that when Utd were apparently chasing Rodwell, they were actually after Barkely.

Id swap him for Rooney if Moyes is really interested wink.png

Me to :-), hopefully new gaffer will give him game time next year so we can sell him for 20+ mill then :-)
