  1. The photoshoot for ours is next week and Rodwell is one of the ones modelling it apparently, so we might get leaked pictures soon.

Hopefully part of the reason he signed up was due to us have a good home kit this coming season! :P

I'm being cautiously optimistic about the home kit and mildly pessimistic about the away.

Still hoping that the leaked kit is either a training top, or a keeper's kit.

  2. Lescott had 4 years left on his contract and Pienaar has a year, that's why there's a big difference.

That makes more sense, then...didn't realise that Lescott had 4 years left.

In that case, 15m sounds good...though as it's been said, I'd rather him not go, and just as importantly, want to stay.

  3. Pienaar's agent is certainly doing his job in trying to get him some publicity and to try and get him better wages...but FFS, have you seen how well off Pienaar is? I saw a video on youtube the other day and he was on some TV show showing off his house and expensive cars.

When someone who can afford an Aston Martin Crossfire is asking for more money, you have to question their ethics...

But what am I saying? This is the world of footballers!

Thats the one thing I love about TC..... He loves the club and wants to give 110% every game he plays.....

Shame he carnt score with his fucking feet though........

Not at Club level anyway. ;)

  4. I'd put my money on it being the A-League clubs that put that price on there.

They are all a bit strapped for cash, but they clearly don't get the whole supply/demand thing...hell, if they had the Melbourne game at the MCG(100k capacity) instead of Docklands(50k) and halved the ticket prices they'd have a full house MCG instead of an echoing Docklands with a pitch that rivals Wembley.

    Bit of a joke really...

  5. Whoa! That's pricey!

For perspective, the tickets I bought for the Australia vs New Zealand friendly next week(the socceroos fairwell match), and they were $65 AUD for the 2nd tier tickets...

I most certainly won't be paying $140 for my ticket...

Cheers for posting that Louis! ;)

  6. The only reason this is in the news, is because it sounds like Cahill has agreed to it.

I'm sure that if Pienaar had agreed to his offer, then we'd be hearing about it asap.

To imply that the club is only concentrating on Cahill when Pienaar and Rodders need to be signed up is a bit daft...you can't seriously believe that the club aren't in talks? Give them more credit than that! It's not like they can't multi-task! :P

  7. with you on this, 4 years is too long, 3 would still be pushing it. He hasnt had the greatest of seasons considering what he has accomplished in the past but still made a valuable contribution. Hes still got 2 years on his existing contract, why not sort it out at the end of that, not like he would leave. Money would be better spent on a certain South African we could very easily lose....

I remember hearing a while back that Timmy was on a modest wage for an EPL player? I know he certainly would be getting endorsement moneys for his Adidas/Weetbix/Qantas deals...not to mention his Socceroos wages.

Perhaps Peanut is a bit more greedy?

  8. Forgot about the Jersey thing...the club would make a killing!

Hell, I'm in Australia and one of my mates has US heritage and the first thing he said when I told him Landycakes(lol!) was potentially coming in on a loan, was that if it was true, he'd buy an Everton shirt.

And this guy's a Blackburn supporter!

In other news, I am now considering buying a no.9 jersey with LANDYCAKES on the back! :P

  9. Getting better thats about 3 words

Look mate, Jags is cleary a top player...he's an international for pete's sake.

In terms of his current form; he's just recovered from an injury that's had him out for a good part the past year. Not everyone can come back from an injury like that and starting playing like they were pre-injury.

I suspect if Arteta wasn't playing as good as he is now that you'd be saying we should drop him as well?

    You're taking the piss mate.

  10. The tour starts July 17th. The World Cup is from June 11th to July 11th.

    Correction...

Everton will face Brisbane Roar at the Suncorp Stadium on Saturday 10 July and then fly to The Etihad Stadium to take on Melbourne Heart five days later on Wednesday 14 July before ending the tour at the ANZ Stadium with a game against Sydney FC on Saturday 17 July.

    Link

That appears to DURING the World Cup. ;)

  11. I wonder how many World Cup players will end up making the trip?

I imagine Pienaar will be staying at home since SA's the host and all.

    Players going to SA with their National team(some potenially);

    Tim Cahill

    Tim Howard

    Yakubu

    Yobo

    Johnny H

    Anichebe

    Jags

    Baines

    Saha

Did I miss anyone? Anyways, I guess the above players would only make the trip here if they got knocked out early.

I'm thinking that really, England and Holland would be the ones to last longest. Can't imagine the USA or Australia getting too far past the group stages unfortunately.

Got no idea what Nigeria are like to be honest!
