I was afraid that the Arteta deal went down to his demands; now he's bitten the bullet and wriggling back to them. It just sounds horrible.
-
Good luck to him.
Agreed. Sorry to see him go. Be a long time before we get a player at Goodison with a long weird neck like that.
-
Not happy about that at all. He was doing alright. At least we've made some cash on a player that cost nothing just over a year ago. But whose going to get the goals now?
-
And he can rap like a mother. My own mother.
Bit concerned there's more footage of his rapping than playing on you tube...
-
Watched some videos of this guy, and to be honest he looks crap.
Anyone watched him?
I am wilting as I type

Permanent deal gives me the permanent horn. PLEASE sign, PLEASE don't be rubbish.
-
Added bonus of making that turdcandle Piers Morgan whine too... what a result.
-
I'm literally (in the Jamie Redknapp sense) jizzing on my screen at this news. He's bound to have the ego of Tevez and the talent of Brett Angel. Hope is a horrible emotion.

The 10 million we spent on him is already gone, the 1.5m is at least something back. On the other hand, we've just saved a shit load on wages though for someone who hasn't really featured, and not likely to. And people know we are skint and taking the piss.
-
Exactly! So if we don't replace him (which I really think will happen) then we're screwed.
What i mean is, Arteta doen't seem to bring that creativity any more, so take the money and take a risk on someone else. Key word is of course RISK, but keeping him is too. We're unlikely to get a bid that good again, and if he plays like he did the last 18 months, it will be pitiful, plus Moyes will keep him in the team come what way, no matter how poor he is. I love Arteta and would love to think he'll get his old form back, but I don't think so. If we sell, or if we don't, it's a risk.
I'd like to see the money and a new player to have a go. But then I'm a optimistic sort of twat.

Fair point we lack creativity, but even with Arteta in the team at the moment we lack creativity.
Get the 10m and someone else have a bash. Bearing in mind it's 1730 on deadline day and Moyes won't let the yougsters in, it is of course a forlorn, hope

Maybe Wenger is just pissing about, so he can say on 1 September 'I tried to buy, but the negotitations were too long/expensive...'.
In any case, I think even 10m for a player who is nearly 30, on massive wages, injury prone and played poorly the last 2 years is a fair deal. Very sorry to see the lad go though - many happy memories. Only issue is, no time to replace him unless we've a deal in the pipeline somewhere, either that or a youngster comes in.
In any case, this has the whiff that it might go ahead...

Fourth Official reporting that Arsenal had a 4 Million quid bid for rejected yesterday. 4 Million? Are they taking the piss?

The Guardian saying that Mikel has not put in a official request, but 'made it known' he wants to speak to the Arse, thus making sure he does not lose his 'parting fee' fro leaving the club. Could always be interepretation, but would not be a surprise I suppose.
