  1. Also, if Moyes got rid of Turner and brought in these 2, it would definitely help. Not sure Turner would get us much, but may be a Championship team would want him. Diego Alves is a top class keeper (except for the 8-0 routing against Barcelona), and he is the reason Almeria is staying in the La Liga and I reckon Howard hasn't been at his best in recent times either. So a new keeper signing might be just the thing to get him moving again.
  2. Diego is a top keeper though, it may not be a bad idea. Although I think Mucha should get his chance. But I wouldn't be surprised if Howard was rested one game and Alves played, and then Howard had another week off, and another and finally a season off.
  3. I would ask for more and then sell him. With that money, get an up and coming CB, or move one of our young guys to the bench, put Heitinga in the CB role, and with that money look at getting a great striker and wing player.
  4. this is looking like another punching-my-screen game. Hopefully we find some freakish form.....what?!.....People have found needles in haystacks before.
  5. Why do 95% of people still have Jags in the line up. He is playing crap, Heitinga isn't playing well, but he isn't in his position. Heitinga would be much better served in CD than in CDM.
  6. I still don't understand why Moyes plays Jags, yeah, ok he is in the England Squad, but how far did they get in the WC, yet Heitinga got to the final and played every minute for them right up until he was red carded. Swap the two now.
  7. Everton spent around 2mill at most in the last transfer window, so they should have enough to get one big (ok, decent) buy this window. Either a nice loan on Donovan or spending money on the Onion. I hope Kenwright knows you have to spend money to make it. I would have liked to have got Balotelli before Man City got him, but he was pretty expensive. But, I think with the money we get from Chang, the money we get if Pienaar does go and hopefully someone digging deep, we could pull this off.
  8. Haha, Heals (Ian Healy) is a great character, I don't know him personally but have spoken to him a couple of times, a genuine bloke. Thanks guys, and glad there is another Warriors fan who also goes for the Blues. I was told that was sacrilegious by some St. Helens fans that were over here recently. But I can't wait to see Everton winning some matches, and hopefully one day be counted as the big 4 but with the heart it has today.
  9. Starting Team (and possible substitutes in brackets). ...........Howard............... (Mucha) Nev...Heitinga...Distin...Baines (Jags, Mustafi) ........Rodwell....Fellaini...... (Move Neville there when/if substitute is made) ..Coleman...............Pienaar.. (Bily) ..............Cahill............... (Baxter, Gueye) .............Beckford.............. (Saha, Yak)
  10. Hi there, I'm from Brisbane, QLD, Australia. I started going for Everton because my mate is from Liverpool and he wondered which team I went for - tbh I never was interested in football, I love my Rugby League - but to make it interesting I asked him which team he had the biggest rivalry with, he said Everton, so I said I would go for them. This was a while ago now, and have followed them ever since. Cahill arriving at Everton also helped, then Everton coming to Australia helped as well. I always wake up at 1am, 2am or whenever the game is on and watch the Blues play. I hope to see them win shortly, but it feels great to have a very strong community team to follow. Unfortunately though, I don't support St. Helens in Rugby League, I support Wigan Warriors (or Crusaders as I am Welsh by heritage).
  11. Hi Alex, I have family in Easton, Mass. So I go for the Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins, but cannot ever go for the New England Pats, I don't know why. But hi.
  12. Its a pretty easy week this week, we don't have Arteta, so he can go back home and spend the lavish amount of cash we gave him and learn nothing. Get rid of Jags, and move Heitinga to where he was in the World Cup Final team - CD. Distin did well, he is probably the best player we have overall at the moment, his only problem is he is doing most of the work back there and the goals scored against Everton are scored against his will, whereas Jags looks like he doesn't care. Jags must think "Well, that's why I have a goalkeeper, isn't it?" Show Tony Hibbert that we don't accept poor play and take him right off and put either Coleman back there (as this will get Coleman some time in the defensive role he needs to learn) or Mustafi, put some faith in the youth we bought. Midfield, we get Fellaini back, so that is a positive. So start with Fellaini, Cahill, Pienaar and Rodwell - if Coleman is in the RB position then you can have Neville as a sub or substitute with an attacker as we need goals as this is what wins games. The forwards I would start with Beckford and Yak. I would like to see how the youth of Everton would do, may be try Magaye and Anichebe or Baxter or Joao Silva. This may seem like a very inexperienced team, but youth may be the better option against Chelsea as they will think they can take on the world, and no one except for Cahill, at the moment in the Blues thinks like this. And I don't think Howard is up to standard at the moment either.
  13. I believe we keep Moyes and stop bagging him for his forwards poor performance. We had more shots than WBA (11 shots to their 10), our shots on target was 4 to their 5, which means only 25% of our shots were away from the keeper, compared to their 80%. So lets not blame Moyes for forwards aiming at the keeper (the shot that was our only goal is from a Midfielder). So the forwards need to be put back into the reserves taught that how to shoot and learn that they aren't performing well enough. Possibly move Gueye on to the pitch, along with Anichebe and let Beckford start, the rest of them should bugger off to reserves for a week.....or a month.
  14. It was spoken of again in the Echo, but I have to agree with them that Moyes is focusing on players who can walk straight into a 1st team. At least I hope that's what he is doing!!!
  15. Mate, you guys need to fix your competition in England. It's a disgrace, we Aussies use it as a retirement fund, almost like a golden handshake. Bring back the "Other Nationalities v England" match and start to bring kids into the squads a bit earlier. The English team needs to get flogged a lot with bringing in its youth before the 2013 World Cup. Fix that and you're sorted, I bet you the youth will also make the national league a lot better as well if they are learning all their faults early on.
  16. Wow, thats all I can say. At least I know what its like to follow a team that you have to be devoted to to still watch. I feel as if the Everton players have just gone out there and gone "right guys, in a couple of hours we'll be out of here and having a couple of pints, so lets just get through these 90minutes or so and we're done for the week." I will give Beckford a wrap though, he had more chances in the last 30 minutes than anyone else the whole entire game. In saying that, every time WBA got near our goal and had a shot on target it went in, every time we got near their goal we either kicked it straight to the keeper, or the Everton players were trying to kick the ball to the top tier, they must have seen a sick kid and wanted him to have a match ball.
  17. Well Louis, as an Aussie, all I can say is that the scoring works that we bowled England out for a bad score in the 1st Innings, then we let the 2 most out of form players be both our captain and vice-captain and see how much they can screw it up for us. And they did a damn fine job. In saying all of that though, the scoring works that you have a total of 5 days to win a test (you can win it in 5, 4, 3, 2 or 1 day(s)). If no one wins in those 5 allotted days it is called a draw and doesn't count towards the end result (the Ashes has 5 test matches). In those 5 days you have 1 team batting and 1 team fielding/bowling (the teams alternate between roles). The team batting has 11 players to bat, the bowling team needs to get 10 of those players out. When this occurs the teams switch roles. This is called an innings. So after the 1st innings have been completed by both teams then you do it again (the 2nd innings). This time you add both of the innings scores together, whoever has the most wins (if the game does not finish in a draw - which is fairly common). Example of the innings scores: 1st Innings scores: Team A - 323 runs Team B - 402 runs (Team B leads by 79 runs) 2nd Innings scores: Team A - 456 runs Team B - 313 runs Total after both innings: Team A - 779 runs Team B - 715 runs Team A wins by 64 runs. There are some issues in relation to how draws work and the like, but that is the general gist of it.
  18. Another option is FC Porto's young guy Ukra (he is 22), he might be out of range in cost but then again FC Porto might like to offload him for a loan, and loaning him to an EPL club would be what they would like. At the moment Porto have a couple of great forwards and wingers that are internationals who are keeping Ukra out. And Ukra generated some attention from Newcastle last year, so he might be a good buy/loan, as he would be cheaper than the others that have been floated around. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1228121/Newcastle-weighing-bid-Portugal-Under-21-star-Ukra.html
  19. Well if we lose Pienaar before his contract runs out we should have enough shouldn't we?
  20. And to be honest, it would be great to give Moyes a blank cheque book and see who he would get, and who he would sell. MOST of the teams that are beating us (not in the League Table but in games), are richer and have much more money behind them.
  21. What about trying to get Bendtner, he would be a better buy, and a better target up front. Imagine Cahill and Bendtner you wouldn't know whose head to hit.
  22. I'm from Australia and the Australian FA couldn't pay all of the wages for all of the players. We have 2 Aussie teams here for the socceroos, first we have the European socceroos who show up and do us good, then we have the A-League socceroos who are completely shocking. We need the European players to compete and if the Australian FA had to pay for them then the A-League would suffer as it is constantly in debt and could eventually be shut down.
  23. Within our funds, especially if we lose Pienaar.
  24. I think Saha has been seriously unlucky though, he has hit the ball well and it just seems to land on a glove or someone moves in front of the kick or he just kicks out of pressure. I think if he had Arteta back in form Saha would score a few. The midfield are scoring because they aren't feeding the forwards.
