  1. Agree with the guys complimenting moyes. We started with a pretty negative setup but to his credit he made attacking (yes attacking!!) changes at the right time. That game was always there to be won as west brom were poor throughout. I can't wait for Donovan to be available as we had absolutely nothing upfront the first half, no movement, no effort, no quality...it's really pissing me off because we might as well play 5-5-0 at times BUT right changes at the right time- 3 points. My nomination goes to straq. Distain had a good game but against a poor west brom front line.
  2. Why didn't you ask me any 'newbie' questions!? :.-( I'd take what we can for Billy and use the money and his wages towards a decent striker although none come to mind right now! Possibly someone from the lower leagues who might have a bit of endeavour. I'd love to see the back of Saha but we just don't have the squad size to be getting rid of multiple players.
  3. Any good turnout and vocal wise? Couldn't make it :-(.
  4. Away fans out-sing the home fans 95% of the time at any ground. Norwich singing loud and more frequently than us is exactly what every other clubs fans are going to do at goodison this season. So I'd rather give credit to those fans who actually sell out since they're all going to be making noise.
  5. Bluesky, assuming you went the match before city were loaded how much has your fanbase changed since your new found success? Are all the old faces still going and how many hangers on have suddenly appeared? I image you're starting to get a few out of towners at eastlands (not on a utd or Liverpool scale of course!). Norwich didn't fill their end at goodison so they certainly won't be getting any praise from me. Come to think of it I don't think any team besides utd and Liverpool have yet!
  6. True enough it has gone pretty quiet but what's being produced on the pitch isn't exactly going to get people going. It's happened progressively over the years and isn't going to change unless there's some real change at the club. Even the boozers have gone shit in terms of atmosphere before and after the game, the few that are left are half empty come 1730...the truth is less and less people seem arsed about the match 'day' in general. Sad times indeed. Have Stoke filled their end at goodison yet? They're currently sky's blue eyes in terms of 'bestest fans' replacing Portsmouth who were praised for years because they sang when they got twatted by arsenal one game. It was clear that it was still the novelty period for Portsmouth so they wernt arsed. On the two occasions I've been there the atmosphere was as flat as craven cottage. I don't think goodison is much different than most other premiership stadiums atmosphere, it just depends on where the said club is at in terms of success etc. As it stands things are pretty stale for us at the moment so there's not much spirit or enthusiasm. How many do you reckon tamworth will bring? My money's on the full 6000...i recall Hayes and yeading bringing thousands to anfield and they're pretty much on a par.
  7. Of course my friend however it's hard to tell without a tongue in cheek smiley. No thanks I'm still recovering from last years Christmas tree up the arse. Thankyou xx
  8. Swansea spent half the night singing about us not singing rather than singing Swansea songs...alot of two bit clubs also follow suit with that so that doesn't go down as good support in my book! Norwich were the same. In terms of numbers and turnout it's between utd and Newcastle (excluding Liverpool as they're a derby). Utd always bring the numbers and don't stop singing. I've noticed Newcastle haven't filled their end on a couple of occasions this season (Stoke being one) which is surprising but I suppose they lost a few hangers on after relegation. I disagree west ham are the best supported London club...arsenal by far in terms of away support. West ham only ever fill the lower bullens/paddock at best...it's up and down with spurs. I've always thought city are quiet albeit bring the numbers at goodison and Chelsea are just shite in both aspects! As for us...if you consider we haven't won anything for 17 years and have been poor the majority of that time we have to be up there as the best. We rarely don't sell out, can make a hell of alot off noise and refrain from embarrassing chants such as 'is this a fire drill', 'it's just like being at church', 'we'll sing on our own', 'you're supposed to be at home' (what?) and my all time favourite 'loyal supporters!'....twats!
  9. Don't read it then! It's an open forum...twitter's good for your easy to read bitesize chunks! Merry Christmas.
  10. I noticed a few papers picked up on the 31000 odd attendance on Saturday and have quoted it as 'lowest premier league attendance at goodison'. It amazes me how professional journalists can't be arsed to do the most basic research sometimes. I'm certain our premier league attendances early 90's were below 30k most of the time. More recently under smith I recall 29000 against Southampton and the Merson villa game was just over 27000. I'm not surprised in the slightest our attendaces have dwindled as I can honestly say I haven't enjoyed a single thing about our last few home games and I doubt things are going to improve significantly over the next few months. Relegation battle anyone?
  11. Oh he was a weapon alright! Let's not forget the prolific John Spencer...along with fan favourites Claus Thomson, li wiefing, Alec cleland, Peter degn, Tony Thomas, Terry phelan and poor old Mark who used to get some terrible stick and got booed off by everyone in goodison once but became a bit of a favourite near the end of his everton career. Is it just me or were we never as bad to watch as we are now? Even when we were shit-shit I never seemed as frustrated and perplexed watching us as I do now...although I might have been tripping from the 4 packets of wine gums I'd consume, kids hey! Anyway Johnson out!!
  12. I do agree he's our best striker though! What's the dance with victor? Due back any time soon?
  13. It's all well and good saying he doesn't get the chances but he doesn't make any effort to get into goalscoring positions. Going back again to the first half of the wolves game where there were 3 world class balls waiting to be put in but the lazy twat couldn't be arsed running into the box...he was outside or on the edge on all three occasions. Most strikers get goals based on movement, especially in the box. He has no endeavour to do this which is why I'm far from happy about him and his stinking attitude. If he spent as much effort on the pitch than he does on twitter he might get more chances.
  14. Fair shout hafina, when they're as young as barkley they can adapt easily. Look at Coleman for a good example. Plus as you said it can't get any worse!
  15. Saha score 8/10 chances!? That's pretty optimistic that mate...1/4-5 at best! Saha is no better than yakubu in my opinion, both lazy but can score at times although the yak seems to score more from nothing and can hold up play pretty well. Both are pretty useless in a lone role. Beattie had his moments and had a decent run of goals at one stage. That chip against fulham was a cracker but ultimately it just never seemed to work out for him. We got good business from Johnson who had a half decent spell at everton. With Johnson atleast we had a bit of movement up front to drag defenders and cause problems...a luxury we certainly we don't have with the current strikeforce. I wonder sometimes if moyes deliberately sets out negative, flat tactics in order to show the board we're in drastic need of some support and investment (a form of protest perhaps). Whilst he was getting the best out of the team and finishing top 7 consistently the board were happy and content to rest on their lorals as there wasn't a problem on the pitch. Now things are bad we've suddenly got money to spend!
  16. To be fair thinking back to the Wolves game there were atleast 3 crosses in the first half that were put right on the 6 yard line waiting to be put in. Saha couldn't be arsed running into the box but I'm sure another striker would have so service isn't always the issue. He seems to go out wide alot too. I don't think and Andy Johnson type would hurt us at the moment even in the short term, someone who makes runs and has a bit of pace but can actually play (beckford was lacking in the footballing department). Saying all that we'll probably sign hesky!
  17. I'm not being funny but are you lot who include billy in ideal starting lineups watching the same player? He's absolutely shocking in every aspect. The only thing he does well is hide and offers no support what so ever for baines, who in my opinion we'd be lucky to have come next season. Billy needs to be fucked off pronto!
  18. How can the club not earn from merchandise? Is it any wonder we're fucked when the people 'running' the club can't even get that right!
  19. If you ask me it's them blue nets...we've been shite ever since we changed them! We haven't been this flat since 03/04, no ideas in midfield, long ball to a lone striker with nobody within 20 yards to run onto a flick, no flair, no clue as a team. Without baines we'd be in real trouble in my opinion. How anyone could include Billy in a 'how I'd line us up' is beyond me, he's shocking...when he's not hiding he's misscontrolling and i can't remember the last time I seen a winger with no intention of beating defenders or trying to get down the line. He's got to go in January. It's truly depressing watching us at the moment especially since 3 years ago we had a real chance of breaking into the top 4. Seemingly the board was content on letting the team drop into mid table obscurity once again....nil satis nisi optimum hey!
