zequist
I know some fans say they'll do anything to help their team win, but this is ridiculous. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...629&cc=5901
dark
WTF. That's one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. If someone is going to score a goal then let them score it, yes it could be heartbraking but thats part of the game. To actually shoot the guy dead is madness. He hasn't even done anything wrong, he's playing football and attempting to score a goal. It seems that some people can't accept defeat. He's not helping the team he supports either, I don't think they will be happy with three points and a murderous fanbase. Stuff like that is just mental. Idiot. I really feel for the guy that got shot and his relatives. The guy that shot him wants a good kicking before he's executed. Major matches in Baghdad are heavily guarded but security in amateur games in smaller cities is often lax. Security may be lax and that's a bad thing, I don't think anyone would have predicted a shooting. Edited March 16, 2009 by dark
StevO
to be honest, its a war stricken country. people are being killed there everyday, ok mostly due to the war, and as bizarre as this is, its one of many. may start getting myself political, so i'll walk away. another tragedy.
