A statement from the FA said: "It is very disappointing to see reports that we have or will 'summon' Steve.

 

"At a time when we are giving our full support to Steve and the England team, these stories are very unhelpful."

 

The statement continued: "Steve, as normal, will attend the next international committee meeting as he and every England manager always has.

 

"There is nothing out of the ordinary with this, it is routine.

 

"We have been with the squad throughout the past week and it is obvious to us just how hard Steve and his coaching staff are working to get results.

 

"We would once again like to offer our full support to Steve and the team."

 

Had to laugh listening to five live yesterday when Simon Mayo asked one of their sports reporters (Vassos Alexander I think is his name) what he honestly thought of McLaren's performance in the job just after he'd done a sports bulletin. First he said his opinion was probably best not broadcast but when pressed he said that he'd been very disappointed even considering he'd not had very high expectations to begin with .

 

Best thing for England now would be to scrape an embarrassingly small win in Barcelona after a truly dire performance so that the idiot can be sacked.

hope we get a last minute own goal by them so we win but play shite again so mccunt gets the bullet. really cant stand this wanker, sooner he gone the better, we need a manager who manages the team not the press.

I was going to post this elsewhere, but here seems as good a place as anywhere.

 

I can't pick up a paper without feeling paranoid at the moment, Mac this and Mac that, everyone is calling for my head, saying I'm inept, no imagination, no man-management skills, but I have heard that the FA will pay Mac £2.5m to fuck off, I'm still waiting for the cheque. :thumbsup_still:
