  1. Not clear to me why we’re in our 4th kit rather than 3d. I suppose it’s to do with wanting some traditional blue v. Man U red.
  2. Disappointed that Coleman’s not starting at RB. Neither Godfrey nor Harrison is playing well, so our right side is a major area of concern. I’m beginning to wonder whether Patterson for Godfrey and Coleman for Harrison would be a better pairing on the right. Seems too desperate, I know, but I’m desperate enough to be flailing about for something to change. Maybe Harrison will shine today. Though that’s a desperate hope.
  3. Had that 3d WHam goal been instead a late Everton chance to salvage a 2-2 draw, I’ve no confidence any Everton player would have put it in the net.
  4. Agree here. A couple of saves were very good, not spectacular. But our finishing is just woeful, from every single “attacker.”
  5. We have 3 away matches in a row coming up. Maybe a better chance to get a point from those 3.
  6. Now even Tarkowski with clown passing.
  7. Was that McNeil’s right foot, flailing about in the box?
  8. McNeil just stops. But good strike a minute later.
  9. Beto’s more likely to get a red card than a goal if he plays 20 minutes in the 2d half. Frustration, must make up for the embarrassment of a weak effort, an out of control moment.
  10. Zouma not really complaining.
  11. Disappointed Coleman’s not at RB. Maybe Dyche is planning to sub him on for Harrison.........
  12. Just an impression, but my sense is that he knows he has talent, is told he’s got great potential with a top club, and so coolly thinks he’s better than Everton. We see moments of outstanding talent, but no commitment-consistency. I’ll be surprised if he improves steadily at Everton, and surprised if he sees out his Everton contract, 3 more seasons.
  13. It’s a running and passing game. We don’t have a lot of pace. But what’s more telling is this inability, team-wide, to execute basic passes advancing the ball. It’s been a signal weakness for the past several seasons.
  14. The mental attribute I value most in sports is relentlessness. Only very occasionally do our players exhibit this; so rarely, in fact, that it’s shocking but exhilarating when any of our players do so. Too many of our players play tepidly, mentally and physically. Did they lack the mental fierceness to dominate play in extra time, as the numerical advantage and our place in the table ought to have made automatic?
  15. Absolutely a fair point. Keane or Coleman, not Young.
  16. I prefer Coleman at RB. Bring on Godfrey/Patterson around 60 min if necessary.
  17. A pathetic point. Pathetic. No spirit until last 20 minutes. Should have scored at least 2 more goals from 5 good chances. No finishers except, I guess, from corners.
  18. Many missed chances. Tarkowski, Garner, Doucouré, DCL twice.
  19. A finisher. Minor miracle.
  20. We got no finishers. None.
