  1. How could they have missed that.

In any event, being quick, I had a go at 'name the runners up in all European Cup Finals since it's inception in 1955' and got 50 out of 54

(I indeed remembered 53, but couldn't quite spell all the full names, the game was being belligerently pedantic)

Some real nasty teams to spell out in my defense

If you can get over 50 on this, mighty fine work to whoever manages that, although five minutes may not be enough for some

Got exactly 50. Missed Fiorentina, Frankfurt, Partizan and Atletico.

  2. If we are the Champions League contenders we say we are, then 3 points is a must.

This. Can't afford to drop points against the likes of Reading and Norwich next week.

Think we'll win it, 1-2. Jelavic brace. The big man boosted by the Sunderland goal.

  3. They expect somebody to figure out the answers, then write 72 football team names out, in 4 minutes? dont%20know.gifdont%20know.gif

It's not that hard, you write Brazil and it automatically fills in like 15 spaces :D Once you get the easy ones out of the way in the first minute you only have 7-8 left to think about.

The CL one is tough, got stuck on Feyenoord the first time around and on Steaua the second time. Managed to complete it on my 3rd attempt.

  4. He's been very highly rated at Sporting for a while now, glad to see him finally getting a chance in the first team. About time, their defending has been a joke.

Shame we couldn't keep him, but perhaps having been at Everton once he would like to come back here in the future. Might give us an advantage over other English clubs. If we go in for him that is.

  5. I've noticed that there seem to be some teenage girls, and perhaps more worryingly some grown women, walking around with hair rollers on their heads in Liverpool. As I arrived here right before Halloween I thought it might be somehow related, but it would appear that they're still around.

Is there an explanation for this behaviour?

  6. Heh, every match we are involved in, regardless of outcome, the referee gets berated or has 'a poor game'

I don't think I berate refs every game, but the ref today was the worst I've seen in a long time, and I've seen a lot of poor refereeing displays in Portugal. One second he doesn't give an obvious foul, the next second he gives a foul for something no one really understands. He was all over the place.

  7. Went with Fellaini. I actually thought he was pretty good before those 2 moments, just being stronger than Sunderland defenders and causing problems, although his distribution wasn't the best. Anyway I don't really mind if he plays poorly for 88 minutes and pops up with a goal out of nowhere and a brilliant assist in the remaining 2.

Howard kept us in it in the first half so he also deserves a mention.

Baines hardly put a foot wrong all match as usual.

  8. That was great, shocking first half but we had the quality to turn it around without being at our best, which is what the top teams are able to do. Not much more can be said about Fellaini but he is a monster.

Thought the ref was one of the worst I've seen.

Oh and with Naismith it was worse than playing with 10 men today, he kept gifting the ball back to Sunderland.

  9. Played with Everton in the beta, but started a new career when the full game came out. Started unemployed so working my way up. Lincoln offered me a job in October 2012, after guiding them from 22nd to mid-table safety, a good start to the second season saw me moving to Dag & Red. Again my job would be to avoid relegation, took over when they were 24th in November and ended up in 17th place at the end of the season.

Now at the start of the 3rd season I'm sitting 2nd in the table in November.

My goal is to get to the Everton job. I like doing it the hard way biggrin.png By the way Everton were relegated in the 1st season in my game. Moyes was sacked and Mackay was chosen as his replacement. Bounced straight back up as champions and now sitting comfortably in 11th.

  10. I think this game shows we'll right up there. This was some of the best football I've seen this year, and a lot better than what our rivals for 4-7 are serving at the moment. Fulham just got really lucky.

My optimistic self wants to agree with you, but these early goals and late equalisers are happening too often to be seen as nothing more than bad luck. I think it may be complacency or lack of confidence in their own ability to see out a game or to have a go from the start. There seems to be something missing mentally if we really want to challenge for 4th place.
