  1. Only Southampton have conceded less than Swansea this season. Set up well, and never bothered committing men to attack.

Its games like that we really miss Mirallas I think, someone to beat the first man at pace and force a packed defense to re-adjust

  2. Absolutely made up about this. One of the top, if not the top, young striker in Europe. I know he has things to work on, particularly his touch and keeping his head when things arent going his way, but he's only 21, so they will come.

Fee is a lot but assuming its paid over a decent length of time thats not too bad. Also, its basically the Fellaini money, and when the transfer fees and wages for Jelavic, Heitinga and Anichebe would be to sit on the bench, then we are still probably better off than last season.

As was said by a few earlier though, we know have a core of top young players at the club, so lets keep them together, progressing and we will be some force

  3. As an extra body, I think we could do a lot worse. Not a big fan of his. but wasnt of Gibson when he joined us either and he won me over.

Bobby has a season of working with him at Wigan so he must see a player in there, and the fact he has played with McCarthy before can only be a positive.

So while not sure about him, In Bobby I Trust.

  4. I've kept quiet up to now but deulofeu isn't as good as everyone makes out. He really really frustraites me and I can not see what everyone else can see in him.

    Dont hurt me.

After that break now, I couldnt agree more. Easy pull back to McGeady but Ger had to take on his man.... Not the correct option every time

  5. Didnt play well at all, against a team scrapping for their lives, normally a recipe for disaster but we got the points. 7 wins in a row folks, lets keep this going!

Also, big shout out to Stones, twice saved certain goals, really playing great stuff at the minute

  6. Would love to give it to every last one of them, starting with Bobby!!

Went for McCarthy, himself and Barry shut down Cazorla entirely, only noticed he was there when Coleman was embarrassing him.

McCarthy just shades it for his cover on the right flank though, Lukaku out that side meant Coleman needed the extra help and every time McCarthy was across quickly.

Still almost feels harsh on the rest of the lads to single out one performance though

  7. best weekend of my life. my son was born (watched the game with me), and everton win 3-0. such a great effort by the lads, baines my MOTM, wonderful passing and movement of the ball up the field, he can be our english Lahm for sure! McCarthy and Barry were spot on and straight up outplayed Arteta and Flamini. Sorry to see Osman go, but happy with Barkley!

    Congrats man

  8. That was utterly immense, cant remember ever seeing us put in a performance like that in a big game! Shaking here, heart rate through the roof, but couldnt care less. Congrats to every single one of them, and especially Bobby! Naisy dropping deep and pulling the CBs out, Lukaku and Mirallas running into that space was genius!

Looked at the team sheet and wasnt too confident. I really have to stop doubting Bobby's selections.

  9. Personally, from the second I saw Martinez being appointed, I had kinda written off this season. I assumed it would take a lot longer than it has to implement Martinez philosophy and system. The fact that we are still looking at a European finish is a lot better than I expected.

As an aside, if the teams who go to the cup final get Champions League, does the Europa spot go to 7th? Or if we get Europa through the cup does it slip down a spot again?

  10. Gotta say, massive respect for naismith. The shit he has received, groans from crowd etc, never hides, team player and he clearly works hard.

    Deserves his applause. Top lad.

Completely agree, would have wilted a lot of men but he's kept plugging away, got his chance in the central role and has proven he's a useful player.

I was one of the people who had no confidence in him, always thought he tried hard but wasn't up to much, but I'm happy to be proven wrong

  11. Clean break 10-12 weeks in plaster. As he is physically fit with high levels of oxygen in his blood might be 2 or even 3 week sooner, depending of course how his body reacts to calcium supplements and oxygen starvation/overload therapy ( to get the heart strong enabling white blood cells to do the repair) Cardio levels will be pretty good after 4 weeks from plaster off. Balance and turning exercise pretty spot at the same time, then 4 weeks heavy ball/cardio time. So what we are looking at an average case scenario is 19 maybe 20 weeks, when is the start of the world cup? He might just make it.

Sounds like you know a lot more than my hear say and what happened a friend logic!!

Costa Rica play Uruguay 20 weeks to the day in their first game... Would be a bit of a risk to bring him without much game time but you never know! Hope it works for him

  12. Is that better than first feared?

No medical background here but I think thats about 4 months in plaster (Basing this on a guy I went to school with, compound fracture of Fibula and Tibia) but might be less with the care he will get. Clean break should mean a less complicated recovery, reset the bone and let heal, should be no need for plates/screws etc. So id say season over but hopefully good for the start of next year. Id love if he could make the world cup but Id doubt it

  13. Comfortably got through the kind of game that worries me, should have a smile on my face, and all I can do is sit here and feel bad for Bryan.... I really hope its not too bad and that he will get back for the world cup....

I dont even want to think about what this means for our season, seems a trivial thought now when you see something like that happen. Just want to think about Bryan and pray he gets well soon

  14. Long ball out of defense, great touch from Lukaku and a great strike from distance from Barry.... Anyone could have predicted that would be how the first goal would be scored.......
