I know Barkley wasnt the best in the last game for us, but as long as playing with the U21s hasnt spent him, think he has done enough to warrant his place. Hoping to see Deulofeu given a decent run of time, maybe half an hour and see what he's made of. And a run out for Kone, get him up to match fitness and speed quickly.

Heard him say that alright and thought the same thing. But the only effect of it was that he had to miss a third of the next season. Not the way I would like to see an Everton player "Give his all" for the team

Biggest problem with him is how he treated the Man City QPR game that got him the suspension and ultimately shipped out for last season. QPR needed a result in that match. As Captain and one of the senior players he gets sent off, kicks someone and if i remember correctly he tried to stick the head in on Kompany. QPR only stayed up by pure luck of other results that season. Whatever else about him, that really says he is not someone who can be relied upon, and someone who is trouble for the club. As a footballer i always thought he had a lot of talent, but if he cannot be relied on in the most important game of the season for your club, I have utterly no interest in him being here

First game I've watched this year (Try to avoid pre-season, too much paper talk) but must say I like what I've seen so far. Trying to keep the ball a lot, even the centre backs are trying to pass the ball a lot. Very impressed with Fellaini-gibson axis so far, dropping deep and collecting the ball a lot and always one covering. Barkley looks very good so far, system seems to suit him so far. All in all, pre season friendly but this is making me fairly optimistic.....

Personally I'd replace Gibson with Coleman, but can wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment. Wouldnt play them though. That result effectively ends our season, 5 ahead of 7th and 5 behind 5th, would like Davey to give some youngsters a shot

Lads, that was one of the most dull games I've seen in a long time. Could've nicked it with Distin or Anichebe's deflected that Reina bizarrely pushed onto the post, but could've lost it with the one Distin cleared out or some of Jags blocks in the 1st half. But to be honest, I'm finding it hard to find anything I would call a chance...
