  1. id love to see him in midfield, as his short range passing is generally perfect but long range/crossing leaves a little to be desired. i think moyes will generally play fallaini and castillo with three in from of them from cahill arteta pienaar and osman, with yak infront of them. but when saha is fit who knows
  2. a nice read, its good to see a player come over and actually hold that sort of affection for the club he played for. probably a world beater again at ipswich
  3. i'll happily give arteta the freekick he scored against blackburn was well executed, he hit a good one against stoke for anichebes goal, he hit a good corner for cahills goal against stoke too. but i dont see anywhere near as much in his play as he gave us two seasons ago, i have only seen maybe 5 well hit set pieces out of all of the set pieces he has taken so far this season. if you dont agree, fine. i think its unfair to say castillo did very little the other night. did you not see he was always there to recieve the ball, he kept everything simple and tidy in the middle, which we havent had much of this season. the lad did a good job protecting the defence. to say he did little is a bit unfair on him i think. what exactly did our love boy arteta do on thursday? countless poor set pieces, he had one touch in the set up of yaks goal, as did a few other of our players in there.
  4. need to do it in most games to be good enough to play for us. then how did arteta get in the side last season? he didnt do if for about 7 months. the form arteta has showed for the last 12 months he wouldnt get into any of the top fours starting 11. cahill is good but not as good as anyone in uniteds midfield, chelseas midfield, liverpools midfield, might get lucky at arsenal to get in. jags yobo and lescott would not get above carvalho terry rio vidic toure gallas, maybe one of them could get into liverpools back line (but they have a solid defence and i cant really see it) i dont think for one second pienaar could get in any of them teams. for some reason everyone is up artetas arse, hes been average so far this season, and lasty season he was very poor. the year before he was great and ill give him credit when he is. but from our side last year, its pienaar who was our outstanding creative player. yak could push his way into one or two of the top four, but the rest of our squad (a lot of very very good players) are not up to top four standard.
  5. bad move that one mike roxy musics cover of jealous guy (lennon) and james morrison today covering sex on fire
  6. he always does, every game, without fail. just a comment on the small crowd last nite, a lot if people who could afford to go last year cant afford it now. just a thought from my head anyway. i know i couldnt afford my season ticket now where ive had no problem the last few years.
  7. i still think hibbert is a usefull full back, but pip has done a good job for us since hes been here. not a world beater but gives his all for the cause on and off the field. been one of our best so far this season, and actually looks like he gives a shit, the same cant be said for others
  8. hes one of our best players, and last season he was by far the best of our creative players, he is easily more useful than osman, and performed better than arteta last season. he will play when he's fit, im sure of that. on topic though, 451 for me. cahill is a bigger threat than any of our other strikers, the yak aside.
  9. the lad on the wing had him off all night. you could see they were targetting lescott, they went at him with pace on every counter attack.
  10. i thought arteta did better than so far this season, but still weak at set pieces. castillo was very tidy in midfield, always on the simple ball, something we need to have in there, and a great strike. yak did very well and scored a good goal. but it was between jags and pip for me. jag was solid at the back and covered up a few of lescotts mistakes, but i gave it to pip, was good at the back with some good tackles and blocks, ran the channel single handedly as no one seemed to support him out there and lots of good crosses. lead by example for me. lescott, whatever is going on in your life, fucking sort it out. we have a good young left back who will break his neck to get on the field for us, and we seem to be accomodating lescott who hasnt performed well in the slightest since returning for preseason. maybe he wanted a move, maybe his england buddies have told him about their 100k plus wages, i dont know, but right now the lad is a shambles.
  11. i honestly cant remember a worse performance than that shite he served up tonight. if baines doesnt start against hull and lescott keeps his place i think we'll have one very frustrated player on the bench.
  12. i think saha can be quality for us, but for me 451 is a must, i see cahill as a bigger threat for us in his favoured advanced role than any of our strikers partnering the yak.
  13. you put it in brackets mike, therefore you didnt say it, internet rules mate, not mine, sorry
  14. he was a natural defender, if he can teach then im sure he'd be a great coach.
  15. hmm, i dont suppose you run IMScouting by any chance? does have a massive load of info on there though
  16. i know the ref makes the decision, but i thought at least one person would have blamed the linesman. wiley pointed to the spot, then consulted his linesman, so it must have been the linesman who said it was outside of the box and the ref has took his word as he is right in front of it.
  17. i hope you find a nice pub to watch the game
  18. they are trying all kinds on the OS like come and see fallaini and saha not playing. should draw the crowds. nervous about this one though, cant predict anything
  19. i hope you know im kidding Louis, im firmly on your side of the fence. you know the problems i have with it, i have faith that LCC will put forward some sort of plan, if bradley doesnt manage it i have more faith in anderson and the people behind him to bring us an option.
  20. if thats the case then we could be waiting until spring to see him sign or reject a deal, that could be a little too close to the end of his contract for me
  21. im happy to play 451, as i think he plays more as a forward than a midfielder anyway. tim is more of a threat than any of our other forwards imo (only got to wait till saha is fit to see if he can challenge tc but i doubt it)
  22. i dont think it was fair that baines had to be dropped to accomodate lescott as baines has been the better performer so far this season. no player should be untouchable
  23. the figures don't matter, we'll all be able to get there no problem. we can park and walk five minutes to the ground, and all three of the Kirkby access roads, well two after valley road has been shut on match days leaving m57 and east lancs, will suddenly be able to accommodate for us all. forget the official numbers from efc. kbc and the bus companies, because even though these groups have released these numbers, KEIOC have somehow managed to make them worse. somehow
  24. to me thats what cahill has done since he got here, he blends into play nicely, doesnt set the world alight as he isnt gunna take players on, but he very rarely gives the ball away and runs all game for us. but defenders get so nervous around him he makes space for the yak and very often grabs the winner. hes still our best player by a mile imo. id love to see a full season of him and the yak
  25. i think moyes has it right, if he is wrong he will apologise and the ref should do the same. the managers are contracted by the FA to have one of the coaching staff do an interview with all the press. if the refs had to do the same i think they could clear up a lot of issues fast
