just heard a rumour from a colleague who's an Ipswich fan that Hibbert's off there. Can't see it myself what with our lack of options at right-back, but he seemed pretty certain it's a done deal!
-
Bentley is NOT joining Man City
-
Dare one say its a certain Portugese gentleman who surname begins with M?
Mourinho?
-
bloke on skysports news just said he's heard we're aiming to add 3 new faces on top of the signing of distin, including a new right-back. sounds encouraging!
-
i wouldn't be suprised if Arsenal did a sneaky bid for Lescott. After all their 40mil better off.
Hopefully we sign Senderos this week. I suppose we as a poor club, negotate properlly by offering an counter offering the players x-amount of wages, were City roll a dice an whatever it lands on thats how much they increase the players wages.
i said this to a mate at work who's a gooner - he reckoned arsenal simply wouldn't pay anywhere near the inflated priced city pay, as they have a proper pay structure in place....

i can't believe there's been 74 pages dedicated to this drivel now! we've said "f*ck off" in no uncertain terms, and yet they keep coming back. can't we do 'em for harassment?
-
decent draw, glad we're home first - hopefully put the tie to bed early doors. Oh no, this is Everton in Europe!!
-
i'll simply say...."what?"
EDIT: although we would be able to chant "we're nosworthy, we're nosworthy" which is one benefit to having him in your team
-
good signing i think, especially as it's only for £2.5m from what I've read. I know he has his critics, but i think at the very least he's a good squad player

Afternoon all, thanks to all who've filled this out so far - we're doing pretty well with responses but we need a final push for this month - so if you haven't filled it out so far then please do, and forward on the link to anyone you think might be interested.

Little nugget for you so far is that despite an amount of concern about the speed (or lack of) of our movement in the transfer market so far, Everton fans do appear to be optimistic about the coming season, with around 9 in 10 saying Everton will finish 6th or higher.
I'll be back to update you all with the first month's analysis around the 2nd week of August (but I'm pretty much here all day everyday anyway, so if you have any questions then post them up here!)

can i just say that back four
onourha...yobo...turner...baines
doesn't fill me with excitement that we're improving

Hi, big thanks to Louis and Bill for letting me post this up here (feel free to delete the sticky one above now!)
I have recently set up a sport research company called Sportdata. The main ethos of Sportdata is to produce research and insight that gives football fans a voice - enabling clubs and sponsors to make informed decisions that take the opinions of the often marginalised supporter into account.
As such, we're looking for thousands of Premier League football fans to answer our supporter's satisfaction survey once a month. In return we'll be providing respondents with top level findings for them to discuss and share with other supporters. Furthermore, in a few months time, we intend to introduce an incentive scheme which allows respondents to earn points for surveys answered - which in turn can be traded in for vouchers.
By following the link below you can fill out the first of our surveys - it should take 5 to 10 minutes:
http://evertonfc.questionpro.com
We look forward to receiving your feedback and if you have any questions, please email me at mark@sportdata.co.uk or post up here
Also follow us at twitter.com/sportdata
Thanks in advance,
Mark

I like the addition of the yellow. Its nice to have a little more colour splashed on. Its starting to look like the 07-08 kit!
oooh bloody hell this gave me a shock!! looks good though, will get used to it!
-
Well "theories" discussed on toffeetalk arnt exactly gospel are they........ Think you you have just backed up my argument to be honest
haha i think you're arguing to yourself to be honest mate!
-
Where are these stories of us having "zilch"?????? And dont even say " Thats what it says in the papers"
when i say "stories" i guess i mean "theories" discussed on places like toffeetalk!
-
i've never seen this guy play but i've heard great things about him - but i've only ever heard him mentioned in the same breath as teams in the big four.....so i don't fancy our chances at the moment!
-
i don't know whether we'll get him or not, but my hunch is that he'll go to the highest bidder - and i doubt that'll be us judging by the stories of us having zilch (not used that word for about 15 years)
-
any one see owens interview on sky sports news 2day, apparently he has 99.9% thicker skin than the rest of the population lol. hope he comes to us anyway
pity the same's not true of his bones
-
nearly 8 in 10 respondents to my survey so far think we have more than £10m to spend! 1 in 6 think £15m+!
-
-
i heard (yesterday i think it was) he was definitely off to inter - it's silly season
-
i love the way on the cover of that brochure it's got a picture of him being treated by a physio
-
i have two points to make here:
1) Tony Cascarino is an absolutely useless pundit, so I take everything he says with an enormous dose of salt
2) we've been here before - last year Spurs were expected to be our biggest challenge for "the best team outside the top 4" - they spent loads of money and look what happened to them. City will spend big, they will buy quality players, but what Moyes has built so far is a solid base, and I honestly don't think it's gonna take a fortune to either keep us where we are, or push us on a bit further.....
just my opinion, but i'm full of confidence despite our obvious financial constraints....
-
Wouldn't disagree with a lot of that and I've a lot of time for both of them, Ossie in particular. But you'd need to be very short-sighted not to acknowledge that they are two of the weaker links when we play the top teams.
I wouldn't sell them, decent squad players but if we're going to move on we need quality all over the pitch.
