  1. So far I am far from pleased from what I've seen of our transfers, A manager who buys a large crop of players who he used to manage is a weak manager. It shows a lack of confidence in being able to instill tactics and belief in a new group of players. That young Barca kid...looks great on YouTube but when he's thrown into the competitive fire of the Premier League you'd have to wonder. He could take to it fine...but he could also be found hiding. Plus Kone for 5million and is 29, Alcaraz for free I can take but I don't see the reasoning behind it in the sense he is 30 and no major improvement on that is already there. same with Kone. Is he really better than Anichebe, Jelavic, Vellios, Mirallas? He's not going to drastically improve as a player and at 29, will have no resale value and for that sort of money with our budget restraints just seems a poor investment to me. Be much better off buying someone younger who will improve. Or even play Mirallas as a striker and spend the money on a winger. Also, it makes me dissapointed to see Everton fans raving about Deulofeu, we are one of the most successful English clubs of all time. And should behave like it. They shouldn't be taking a punt on Barca kids for no benefit. If anything giving him game time will hamper other players development. He's not going to sign permantely so why take him in and develop him in our squad for Barca to reap the rewards? Everton should start acting the size of club they are. Wigan are the type of club who brings in a few lads over a season, develops them and sends them home or sells them. Not Everton. This is why I hate Sky so much...the amount of money they have pumped into bloating English football suddenly makes you think that Wigan aren't a million miles apart from a club like Everton. The vast amount of tv money...obscures actual reality. Wigan is a minority football town in a Rugby League mad area and Everton have won more championships than most. Say what you want about the standard of the Ervidise or the Belgian league...at least Ajax, Psv, Feyenood and Anderlecht act like the size of club they are....multiple league winners, former European champions etc. No bowing of the head or what you get with big clubs who have faded in England. Robles, is promising however. Looks to be able to compete with Howard for the #1 role, Howard has had a serious lack of competition over the last few years and it reflects in his performance. Just in general we should be trying to sign younger age profiles of players who can improve their game. Signing 3 of these guys isin't solving any problems, we've not improved the side drastically at all in signing them? added competition? What's the point in adding competition if their not an improvement on whats there already? If anything it affects the progress of talented youngsters like, Kennedy, Stones, Barkley, Oviedo, Vellios, Duffy because they're all in similiar positions. If given game time they will definately get better than what Alcaraz and Kone and Deulofeu are on now? If anything this holds them back for no long term progress? ,
  2. Please god let someone else beat us to sign him! http://www.football365.com/everton/8803334/Whelan-Everton-lead-Kone-chase
  3. Sorry, meant by that was just release or sell those players. I'm aware of Osman signing a new contract but has that ever stopped a player being sold? If anything gives us more leverage when demanding higher transfer fee. Can't see it happening but just if the price was right, i'd definately consider it.
  4. I hope we don't sign him, especially for the reported 5million. He's 29 years of age, had one half decent season in the Premier League and will have absolutely no sell on value. i'm praying he doesn't bring in kone, maloney and a few older lads from wigan. id take alcaraz on a free and mcmannaman and mccarthy if they were cheap enough but not over the odds for either of them. also i hope he evaluates and sees what needs doing with the squad, alot of dead wood that needs to be shifted, mucha, hibbert, heitinga, naismith, hitzelperger can all be sold to raise funds and to get them off the wage bill, not good enough. also i'd accept decent money for fellaini, osman and anichebe to be able to rebuild the squad. i hope he doesn't come in and instantly think how much better the squad is than his at wigan so immediately thinks he can work with them all. young lads like, stones, barkley, oviedo, gueye, vellios, kennedy, duffy can all get a look in too. unfortunately we need a bit of back up in defence and his record for signing defenders isin't exactly great.. need seriosu quality and youngsters injected into that team. he says he thinks he can qualify for champions league on a small budget so lets hope he sticks to it. also i think everton can attract much better prospects than wigan ever could so he might have a few players in mind that fit the bill.
  5. Team I'd like to see us play against Oldham, if just to freshen things up rather than anything else. Understand Moyes wantes to progress to the next round but constantly playing fatigued first team players won't be the answer, if we need to push on in the league and cup competitions things need to be freshened up, keep the old guard on their toes and give the youth a chance and a belief that they can make the grade. Howard RB, Coleman, CB, Duffy, CB, Jagielka, RB, Coleman/Stones RM, Mirallas, CM, Gibson, CM, Barkley CM, Fellaini, LM, Oviedo CF, Vellios/Jelavic

    Norwich (Away)

Not happy with the fact Naismith is starting, the guy is simply not good enough. Maybe understand though because Mirallas is only coming back from injury. Might be too many games in succession for him. A bigger issue is Moyes leaving Barkley out. He's come back from impressive loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds respectively and has barely featured this season. Moyes says he doesn't want to rush him but the guy is 19 years old and has only played a handfull of games for our first team. I'm aware of his injury setback a few yars ago but everyone keeps harping on about how good he is etc. and he's barely featured for us in a squad that desperately needs freshening up. I would have though that supposedly one of the brightest talents in the country would fit that bill? Instead he doesn't even make our bench ahead of Hitzelsperger, not saying he doesn't deserve to be there but he's going to be let go at the end of the season so why not give barkley more game time to prove his worth? Same goes for Oviedo, Vellios, Stones, Duffy. It's clear our squad is struggling with fatigue and new ideas and we've a good batch of telented youngsters there eager to come in, so why constantly start with the same team that's struggling for form and lacking ideas every week? Alot of the guys out there look Wrecked and starved for new ideas on the pitch. Would have thought giving the fresh blood more of a chance would go to changing that.. Hope the boys pull it out of the bag today though VS Norwich, going to be a tougher game than people expect.
