  1. I believe there will be plenty of interest once we secure premier league status. We have a wonderful stadium being built, but it also comes with a lot of debt. That’s ok in the premier league, but not if we are in the Championship.

If we do get relegated, then it’s pretty much nailed on we go in to administration. We have huge debt, an unfinished stadium and no money to invest in the squad. At that point there is a very real prospect of a double relegation to league one.

  2. The best signing we could hope for in the circumstances. We absolutely could not let ourselves be relegated, Sam guarantees safety. One thing to point out is Sam has never been in charge of a team with money and a very decent ( albeit poorly performing) squad, he has always taken on teams that are low on talent.

But we need to sign a left back, central defender and a striker in the window. One thing is for certain, you can forget the school of science, its not gonna be pretty!

  3. I think its simple, we did not replace Lukaku, you absolutely cannot lose a 20+ goals a season striker and not replace him. What is really concerning is that we are already in a relegation battle the likes of which I have not seen since the "dogs of war" days.

Personally I would grab Sam Allardyce until end of the season, stabilise the ship and go all out for the best striker we can get in the transfer window. Then in the summer we can go all out for a top class manager.

  4. David Unsworth is the natural choice for the short term. Fact remains we have not replaced Lukaku, coupled with the worst start in 12 years we have little to no chance of attracting a top quality striker in the window unless we sign a world class manager.

Allardyce is a manager to keep teams up, he never wins anything. You only appoint if you have no money and are looking certain to go down, neither of which are the case. Personally I would go for Ancelloti and go all out to get the best striker we can get. I am just surprised that it took until the 9th game, it was not as if they were close run results as we was getting played off the pitch!

I have no doubt in the quality of the players we signed in the window. Sandro will be great and Calvert-Lewin is one for the future, both however need an experience striker to learn from. Rooney should have been a role model, he has turned in to an embarrassment.

  5. People seem to forget that in our first 6 games of the season, we had Man City, Chelseas, Spurs and Manchester United! We have made a lot of new signings, it takes time for them to bed in and get a style that suits. The Atlanta game was not acceptable though.

We also sold Lukaku and did not replace him, a striker should have been our number one focus in the window. I have very high hopes for DCL, he is going to be top drawer. However he needs an experienced striker alongside.

If we can get Rooney in to form, give Davies more play time and Niasse keeps on scoring then we can go all out in January and get the striker we desperately need.

  6. Anthony Martial - £36 million, potentially rising to an £58 million, 11 French league goals after 29 appearances with a strong Monaco team France U21.....

SandroRamirez - £5.5 million., 16 goals in 31 appearances for mid table Malaga and Spain U21. I know which one seems like the better deal :yay:
