  1. United fan here..pleased with Fellaini, gutted we fucked up the Herrera deal though.

A lot of anger right now directed at Woodward and Moyes that we didn't just sign him before the clause expired back in July. He's a big improvement on Cleverley and Anderson though, just a shame we have to wait for the shitty internaional break before we can see him in action.

  2. I understand what your saying about 'not taking it personally', but it is easier said than done when this is probably as personal as it could get in football terms.

This new bloke in charge of transfers needs to learn fast about whats right and appropriate. I honestly don't think I would have a huge issue if either or both were to go but at the right price and given a decent amount of time to spend on reinforcing the squad. I'm not sure now though, given the ill feeling that the whole thing has raised that we will sell to United now anyway.

We're annoyed with the timing also. If Moyes wanted Fellaini, then he had all on July with which to get him, provided he paid the clause. If we do sign him, it'll probably be for close to that amount anyway, so was it really worth leaving is so late when he could have been brought in during pre-season? It makes no sense.

And the less said about Baines the better. Must be the only time in football history that a club has repeated the same bid that has already been rejected.

  3.

I know it's tough, but I'd try not to the offer too personally. Ever since our new chief executive overtook David Gill in signing players this summer, none of us fans have been happy with him.

He also offered £25 million Fabregas! He's been completely delusional about the cost of players, and us United fans are far far from happy with him and the time he's wasted by bids (both for Fabregas and this joint bid) that were so low try we're nothing more than a waste of time.

I dont get it though, you guys are one of the richest clubs in the world so why try and scrimp!? I sympathize a bit; we moan that we dont spend money, but because we dont have any. Having the money and not spending, then losing out on key targets must be unbelievably frustrating!

Im also amazed that this guy clearly didnt watch the previous seasons transfer windows, where City almost refuse to reinforce then drifted away. Add to that the retirement of such an important figure at the club and arrival at the (planned) long term successor - if there was a time to splash the cash to assure fans and the new manager, its now.

You've hit the nail right on the head.

Woodward at the start of the window said "we wouldn't hesitate to spent £60-£70 million on one player" yet since then, we've refused to go above £30 million for Fabregas and £12 million for Baines. He's been all talk and nothing more.

Most fans feel if he (and this extends to the club also) put half as much effort into signing players that they do the commercial side of the club we'd be doing fine! We're announcing new sponsorship deals every other week, yet the silence has been deafening all summer regarding transfers.

This summer mirrors exactly what City did last summer. They missed out on their targets, stood still, panic bought and slipped away. The lack of backing for Moyes is shocking and he's just been left to hang out to dry by a bunch of incompetent fools.

  4. I know it's tough, but I'd try not to take the offer too personally. Ever since our new chief executive overtook David Gill in signing players this summer, none of us fans have been happy with him. He's shown himself to be totally out of his depth.

He also offered £25 million Fabregas! He's been completely delusional about the cost of players, and us United fans are far far from happy with him and the time he's wasted by bids (both for Fabregas and this joint bid) that were so low they we're nothing more than a waste of time.

What I'm saying is, these derisory offers we've been putting in for various players have more to do with one man (Woodward) than they do the club as a whole.

  5. If we'd really been unlawful in our approach to Moyes then Everton would have reported us to the FA.

And "tried to unsettle key players"? What, bidding for them? Or are clubs not allowed to bid for players unless its well in advance of the league season and at an amount that is more than likely going to be accepted?

Get off your high horse and stop acting like Everton have never done the exact same thing.

You haven't just "put a bid in" though. You've offered the same amount we have already rejected for baines which is a clear attempt to unsettle him and you have offered less than we have eventually paid for Fellaini. How would you think we would not be insulted?

When have we ever done something like this? Name me one occasion?

Think you would earn a lot more respect from fans on here and in general if you just admitted that your club/manager has been a grade A cunt. I know you won't of course, even if it is impossible to deny.

I earlier today did just that.

A lot of us United fans are pissed with the club for such an insulting offer.

But what I don't understand is that we've offered the same amount for Baines as we did more than a month ago?

That's idiotic. Don't know what the club is thinking of. Do they really think you'd be willing to sell for an amount you've already rejected, just because we're throwing in some more money for an additional player?

Fucking idiotic. Blame our new man in charge of transfers. He ought to be sacked.

  6.

Doubt that. We'll see next Monday against Chelsea.

Also, wishing an injury on a player who has absolutely nothing to do with this? Classy.

WOW - United fan talking about being "classy" It's nothing against RVP - I actually think he's a good pro and a tremendous player. He will get paid, it's against the arrogance that is Man United and thinking they can have rooney as some sort of injury cover for RVP. Offering a measly amount for two players on the eve of the season.... classy indeed.

I think you will find Moyes demonstrating what he did with us - that he lacks the bottle to play the top 4 teams. I expect you to sit back and try and soak up the chelsea pressure and catch them on the break. It will not work.

Your club could easily be fined for tapping up moyes and certainly the way in which they have tried to unsettle keys players.

If we'd really been unlawful in our approach to Moyes then Everton would have reported us to the FA.

  7.

I want to us to take United to the FA for poaching and talking to moyes whilst under contract. Sick of the way we get bullyed. I would actively try and sell fellaini to another club. Moyes needs a midfielder, apparently their result the other day flattered them, lets hope RVP does his ankle for a period and leaves united short of their match winnner - especially with Rooney reluctant to play for them.

Couldn't agree more Haf.... They were totally outplayed but were dynamic in front of goal... A top four side is going to rinse them.

Doubt that. We'll see next Monday against Chelsea.

Also, wishing an injury on a player who has absolutely nothing to do with this? Classy.

  8. A lot of us United fans are pissed with the club for such an insulting offer.

  9. Enjoy your retirement Louis. Was fanastic, albeit injury prone when he was here at United.

We played some of the best football we ever played under Fergie when he was in the team ahead of van Nistelrooy. Quality player, great left foot..could have achieved so much more with a bit of luck here and there.

  10. Hi all, don't worry about Avin being so aggressive, like water off a ducks back to me. I've dealt with bigger fish for breakfast.

The question or thread wasn't in anyway meant to antagonize anyone. The "pukalala" on 606 isn't me. Yes I'm guilty of stealing his username, but I'm not the same person that used to terrorize the Arsenal board on the old 606.

Like I said, it wasn't meant to be a wind up, but merely the opinions of a player we're being linked with from fans who have seen him week in week out.

A lot on the United forum give their opinions about him that I'd rather not take as face value without talking to people who have a genuine knowledge of the guy and what he's capable of. The majority of United supporters are behind Moyes, but a small % feel (wrongly in my opinion) that we're better and bigger than Fellaini and should be going for the likes of Fabregas or Gundogan.

Most of this in my opinion comes from the rather controversial decision to let go of our goalkeeping coach who had worked wonders with De Gea and a handful of other coaches in favor of his own staff. Understandable though as he wants to work with a team he feels comfortable with and can fully rely on.

  11.

Dude, I've known MikeO for years. We're always biting at each other. Get a grip and stop acting the prick.

As for 'pleading with you' I think you'll find you're just being a prick yet again:

I don't see any pleading there mate. Just a friendly pm. Now why don't you be a nice boy, and toddle off.

Only prick around here is the optimist that sinks each thread into a argumentative shitfest. Must be that amazing coincidence again. Ta-ta nobhead.

  12.

    Keep pushing mate.

Yep, I'm a clown, but you need to pipe down mate.

On the two threads I've posted in the past month, it's always been laff (how ironic) who's the one that's inflaming and antagonizing things, or is this just an amazing coincidence?

"Pipe down mate", "keep pushing mate"..really? What's the alternative?

    Fuck off mate.

  13.

That's probably irrelevant mate, as I'd completely forgotten I'd pm'd you a month ago, though you didn't reply anyway, which shows what a snidey (and indeed ignorant) fucker you are though for feeling the need to bring it up instead of debating the point. PM's are private mate, now do us all a favor and quit with the 'we're better than you' bollocks. You don't go on to another forum and ask if one of their best players is good enough to play for your team, you smarmy prick.

We both know the reason you couldn't ask is that you are banned on there, and on 606, and on just about every other forum too.

    pukalala.png

Obviously the fact that I can read your drivel on there, shows I'm 'not banned' but knew you were a wum.

Are you sure? I didn't log in here for about 3 weeks after I posted the thread, and only seen your PM then. Why is why I didn't ask. Not that I would have anyway.

Also, the fact you can read my "drivel" on there doesn't show you aren't banned, just that you created a new account.

You Toffees have one in a million here. This guy's a clown.

  14. As a member of Red Cafe, the place in a serious meltdown at the minute because we've arsed about in the transfer for Thiago Alcantara to an extent where it's now allowed Bayern to come in and steal him from under our noses.

A poster on there said he's friends with an Evertonian who has been impressed with Martinez since he's been at the club, particularly in how quickly he's brought new players in.

He went onto say that whilst at Everton, Moyes was an extremely slow mover in the transfer window and you would often end up doing a lot of late/deadline day business.

Centre Midfield is a massive weak area for us, and with 11 days gone and no players whatsoever yet brought in, and Thiago gone to Bayern, we're all a bit concerned about how long he's waiting to do any business especially with the tough fixtures at the start of the season.

Is he a notoriously slow starter in the transfer window?
