  1. Nope. What i meant was that, he is a poor header of the ball for his height. He destroyed Betis, won all headers and flicked them on to the midfielders, quite well. I also said, that there is room for improvement. And so, when he will get it right..blah blah blah. He isnt worth 7 million, sure. But obviously Rafa has something in his mind and Peter is a part of the plan. If we get ourselves Gonzales and a right winger by summer time, Crouch and Nando will score a lot, IMO. Edit:- For the national team, there is no forward who gives aerial ability. Rooney, Owen and Defoe dont. So Crouch being in the squad is warranted. In the starting eleven, surely not. Maybe as a sub, till he improves on his overall play. But those who think that he is shit, are surely mistaken. His 7 million pricetag...we spent a bit high on him but then again he is english. He wont come cheap. Id rather have him for 7 million rather than Andy Johnson for 10.
  2. You guys are right. Crouch is a poor header of the ball. For his height, he should win more headers. Secondly, he brings more to the game than being only a target man, unlike Duncan. Whether you agree or not, he does. He brings the midfield into play very well and holds the ball up quite decently. His avantage and disadvantage is his height. The disadvantage is that, defenders can be a bit more heavy, tackling and jumping up for headers and the referee wont notice it. Its natural. Crouch has to deal with it, till his career finishes. From the national teams perspective, he DOES offer something different. Owen and Defoe offer speed and the ability to go past defenders. Rooney, good body strength, brings the midfield into play quite well, but no one gives aerial prowess. Crouch does that. He has decent feet as well. My problem with Crouch is that, he rarely attacks crosses. He tries to head them with his ear (atleast it looks that way). He stands at the edge of the oppositions box, when he should be in the 6 yard one. His calf muscles are non existant and it is clear that the coaches and him are working on it. He made it a point to attack the goal (in our last match against Villa in the short spell he was on). He made a great chance for Morientes and also won a penalty. Yes. He looks gangly and is surely rough on the edges. But once he gets it right, he will cause all defenders a lot of trouble and i am pretty sure that he will score a lot of goals. Its just a matter of time.
  3. Fuck off, bitter. 450 people have been banned till now? wow.
  4. And i will never read the rag i.e. the sun.
  5. From 'The Sun' I think the name of the newspaper says it all. The Sun, sucks.
  6. Reply has nothing to do with Everton, you cock rash. But then again, i never expected it to be
  7. Ah.. the minge Well, you gotta understand that other teams have improved as well. Some of them, a lot. So it as never going to be easy for you guys to get into Europe this time out. Lady luck also plays a huge role. Last year, ya'll had a lot of it. It seems that this year she has deserted you, with all those injuries and goals which shd have stood.
  8. "Xavier - is that a genuine post coming from a RS fan?" Whats that supposed to mean? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 'Kilbane, Cahill, Arteta, Davies, Neville, VDM, Osman, Carsley, McFadden' Yep. These are midfield options, but how many of them would fit into a team challenging for Europe, if Europe is your aim? Cahill, Arteta, Neville, VDM....Osman,Davies and Carsley are good backup. Kilbane, Li Tie and Mcfadden arent good enough. So you basically have 4 good midfielders (out of which 3 are central ones) and ok'ish support midfielders. Thus, midfield isnt a problem for DM, unless someone gets injured. But id try to put some money into a right winger next season and Davies more and more looks like a middle of midfield player, cuts in a lot. Defense, is ok. How is Kroldrup doing. I havent seen him play this season. Yobo is quick. Hibbert, steady. Also PHil Neville can play as a fullback. Basically, Moyes needs a goalkeeper, a right winger and (atleast!) one striker. Bent is awful. Vaughan is too young. Ferguson is gettiong old. A decent run in the F.A. cup might give the team some much needed confidence.
  9. This forum says that there are 833 registered members. Then how come i am member number, 1363?
  10. Did Forlan tear his thigh or something like that? I heard that he might NOT be fit for the both the legs against the aussies.
  11. A couple of excellent posts by toffeelicker and rowlo. Although we are just into the lateish early-season, , Everton's form is improving by the day, as the saying goes. No need to worry about the fact that the wins have been one-nils. Because, the clean sheets that Everton have kept should be heartening to their fans. Too many goals had been leaked till now and finnaly, the rot is stopping. Beattie scoring (well staying fit, really) is more impotant than winning 3 or 4 nil at this point. Once the team members (mostly the new ones) get used to their collegues and the system, the goals will come. VDM looks like a good player, Moyes found at a bargain price. Arteta, VDM and Cahill look like a good midfield to me. Neville will give consistency. I still dont rate Davies, tbh. Everton have too strong a side to be relegated and too weak a side to challenge for Europe. Mid-table beckons. I say so coz football is more and more a squad game now. Its not the 11 you have but the 16 or 17 you might field in the course of time. Everton have a thin squad, and i am sure Moyes would want to restrenghten i, come Jan.
  12. Anyone tried this? I got relegated with Boro, in my demo version.
  13. Id had this link, which said that both teams were interested. I am sorry, i dont have the newspaper link now. I am not a closet blue
  14. 'Forlan is shit.' Id take it that you havent seen him play for Villareal, then.
  15. Q: Did you hear that the British Post Office has just recalled their latest stamps? A: Well, they had photos of Manchester United players on them - folk couldn't figure out which side to spit on. Q. What do you call a Manchester United fan with half a brain? A: Gifted. Q: How many Man United fans does it take to change a light bulb? A: 560,001. That is 1 to change it, 60,000 to say they've been changing it for years and 500,000 to buy the replica kit. Michael Barrymore has offered Manchester United £1 million pounds to play as their striker because he wants 10 pricks behind him and 67,000 assholes jumping up and down. Q: Why can't you get a cup of tea at Old Trafford? A: All the mugs are on the field and all the cups are at Anfield. A couple were going through the traumatic throes of a divorce when the subject of the custody of their 4-year-old became the contended point. The judge said that since the lad's future was at stake he would like to see the young boy alone in chambers. Once in chambers, the judge asked if the boy understood what was happening. The 4-year said, "Yes sir, my mammy and daddy won't be living together any more." "That's correct my boy" said the judge "And would you like to live with mammy?" "No" replied the boy. "Why not?" asked the judge. "Because she beats me!" said the lad. "Hmm" said the judge, "Would you like to live with your daddy then?" Again the boy answered "No". Again the judge asked "Why not?" And the little lad replied "Because he beats me too." "Well then, who do you want to live with?" queried the judge. The young boy quickly replied "Everton, sir." "Why Everton FC?" Asked the puzzled judge. "Because they don't beat anybody" the boy simply replied.
  16. Ok. Let me get this straight. Meaningless drivel from BS fans is accepted because this is an Everton forum. And if a RS replies back its not accepted. Ok.
