If there were 18 clubs, then teams likeFulham might be fighting it out with many others which will make the game worth watching and raise the overall standards surely? Why is it a bad idea? The quality of the clubs at the wrong end of the premiership has been extremely poor. I had heard the 'West Brom/Pompey/Sunderland/Brum dont deserve to be in the premiership' from many people umpteen number of times. Such teams(relegation threatened) also lead to the actualy quality of football in the premiership get affected due to the dour defensive game of having 2 banks of 4 defending all the time. With the top teams getting stronger, its getting more and more difficult for the poorer teams to compete. Although, this might seem harsh to them, the overall quality of football in the premiership will improve.

He broke his left leg against Blackburn. Now, he's broken his right. I'm absolutely gutted for him. He missed Euro 04 due to a suspension he earned in an U-21 game. Now, he's missed the WC as well. Um..what? I supported a player who i think is still good. Somebody called Owen 'overrated' and i disagreed. There was no 'ranting' in it. And there was no LFC bias in the post at all, i would have done the same if it was somebody else.

Owen's overrated? No. Look at his scoring record. For Liverpool, for England. Hell, even his goal scoring at Madrid was very decent considering he was their substitute, always their substitute. Its was the Madrid politics that lost him his place to Raul who was very poor, not his game. He had a decent return at Newcy as well and he broke his toe, not a rehash of his hamstring injury. So he's not crocked. He's still got one of the best goals to game and minutes per goal record in the world. To say he's overrated is silly. Owen is a poacher. He gets goals, he might not be in form he'll still score if he gets half a chance. He has come back from injury, he is getting match fit, he was shite against Hungary? He might be invisible for 87 minutes but he'll score in the 88th. Get it? He might not shatter defenses with his dribbling ability, but he does scare them with his directness and movement. Adriano has been shite, for Inter last season. Raul has been hopeless, didnt score for Spain in over 8 months and he played in all their games. Rooney is injured...why cant you guys get it? Owen WAS injured. Rooney IS injured, get over it. Technically, you have to play one midfielder in a defensive role in a 442 because if both attack, a lot of space gets presented to the opposition. So, at all times, one player would have to sit back (not necessarily in front of the back 4) because the opposition gets more space to work with Why Sven uses Gerrard in that defensive role is simple, Gerrard has the better engine and he is the better tackler.
