  1. This is not a knee jerk but an assessment on tonight's performance. I don't think that performance has done him any favours in terms of a starting place for the World Cup. Everyone has bad days at the office but I'm sorry that was shambolic. I'm all for Jagielka he is a great player, but he needs pace around him. Without the pace he looks like a headless chicken. I mean the fourth goal, come on that was a primary school boy error. It's just not good enough from a captain and full international. Tonight is not the first time I've seen Jags tore a new one at Anfield either. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks but we can't play that back four again. It was so vulnerable it was awful to watch.
  2. Jagielka + Alcaraz = no pace. See fourth goal. There wasn't much else we could have done tonight. But that partnership is a recipient for disaster. Jagielka was absolutely shocking, it's always been the same if he hasn't got pace covering him he gets exposed.
  3. If I'm honest I'm starting to see cracks in Martinez thinking - on the transfer front. We sell Jelavic without a viable replacement and then "loan" an injured player in. Tonight Heitinga would have been a better option but he's on his way.
  4. It's was far from Barry's best game. But at least he was involved.
  5. I think Barry is getting too much stick for his performance. His passing was frustrating aswell as being woeful. But he was always available for the ball. If anything it was McCarthy who offered little tonight.
  6. Unfortunately I think him and Jagielka were the weak link tonight. The lad was well out of position. There is a difference between being told to push up and pushing up whilst leaving huge space and an opponent in it. If Coleman was playing tonight that second Goal most certainly wouldn't have came about. It highlighted that Coleman is an absolutely fantastic player and John Stones is not a modern day Full Back. He had no idea going forward. I wasn't expecting wonders. But what I was expecting is positional sense. He had none.

  8. Mirallas, Barkley, Deulofeu, Coleman & Baines. They are real talent. The rest can't change a game with magic.
  9. Honestly mate, I've only been on this forum a week but some of you're views are way off the Mark. We did not create anywhere near enough clear cut chances. There was 2 in the whole game. Mirallas drive and McCarthy. Everything else is not even worth mentioning.
  10. The difference was lack of pace at centre back and John Stones well out of position for the second. He had an absolute shocker and certainly isn't a good RB. He hasn't a clue once he reaches their 18 yard box.
  11. Stones free header.... You're including that lmao.
  12. Bloody hell mate. About 1/10th of our chances were even close and they were off target.
  13. Of those 18 chances we didn't make The keeper work at all. 18 shots makes it look as those their goal was under severe pressure. It wasn't.
  14. You're right mate. I thought he was bad. He's a centre half.
  15. You're being a little over optimistic for me. We created very very little.
  16. Sometimes you can't look at positives. This has highlighted a few things. Liverpool have a much better strike force than us. Clinical. Jagielka is very suspect without a centre half with pace next to him. (Always been the same) Steven Pienaar has bottled yet another Anfield derby. I have yet to see him play half decent in one. In the world of current football. You need attacking Fullbacks and John Stones is very limited in that area. Along with Tony Hibbert. Needs to be assessed.
  17. He can play there but he doesn't benefit the team going forward.
  18. He's not good enough at right back. Very limited in the final third. I say this because we are used to such a good attacking RB. He hasn't made one decent cross or beat the left back.
  19. We are getting battered. Shows how important Distin and Coleman are in the back four. Jagielka has been absolutely shite.
  20. Has Barry completed a pass tonight.
  21. Jagielka has been shocking!
  22. Wholeheartedly disagree.
  23. You're right but he was way way out of position. It's not even questionable.
  24. Stones is playing RB not RM. if not all his fault he was definitely a massive contributer to it.
  25. Damage limitation now. Can't see us getting any points we would do well getting our goal difference back down. P.S there is not enough Kevin Mirallas's in the team. Again looking a class above our other frontmen.
