The last few days we have seen rumours of the deal breaking down for multiple reasons ranging from the ridiculous to the ever so slightly plausible. Yesterday it was because we couldn't tell the difference between 3 and 30 million in Spanish. Today it's something else. All we know for sure is that the kid is on holiday with his Misses. When he's back I'm sure this will be sorted quickly

http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2015/06/16/photo-tottenham-linked-everton-target-gerard-deulofeu-enjoying-h/ Surely there is no point linking other clubs to him now? London biased media!

Might actually have legs, this one. Any idea how much he'd cost? -

Class player and a proper no 10. It's nice to see a top player linked with us rather than constantly reading that our best players are unhappy with broken promises and looking to leave the club. More of this please -
This is turning out to be another social media created saga. Twitter is rife with people saying his agent was at FF today with no evidence to back this up (a friend of a guy who once walked the dog of a bloke who heard from a geezer who spoke with a first team player who said sort of thing). apparently the deal will be announced Friday. There's going to be a lot of bitterly disappointed fans come the end of the week and they have no one to blame but themselves.

Odd this tonight. We didn't request a loan but didn't want or couldn't pay for him. So what was the point of the whole thing? Very strange. Personally I'm disappointed I think he could be a good signing and with Pienaar, Barry and Osman all well into their 30's now another young midfielder would have been useful (if not urgent). I'm just not sure what we expected to get from tonight??

Danny Welbeck

I'm pretty certain they still owe us money on the Fellaini deal... If so I would just take it out of that. Loan would be ideal and if, like Rom he is a success they can ask for 20 mil in the summer rather than 8-10 now. I have a crafty feeling this one has legs and he could be the long term replacement for Pienaar. The bonus of linking up with Baines, Barkley and Jags might play a part too.... Especially Baines down that left hand side. -

I believe he's the guy who said we had signed Caulker. Not convinced till I see him on the OS with the shirt -

We are a threat to them! List just whether they want to accept that -

It will come down to United's ambitions. If they are aiming for the title they won't consider us a threat and will let him join. If they are looking at top 4 only I doubt l us or Tottenham will sign him unless it's for a silly fee. -

Completely agree. It amazes me that not only have we been linked with this shower of shite but that some fans actually think he could contribute anything other than being an extra body to the cause. It's down to personal opinion but a 33 (so we're told) year old striker who will go to the ACN in January , has exactly been convincing in the PL and will want mega bucks is just not what we can realistically waste what little budget we have on. I hope that we bring in 1 more striker and I suspect it will be someone off he radar and unexpected like Lukaku was last season more than likely on loan. -

Looks like he's Liverpool's standby in case the Balotelli deal falls through. According to rags he's had a medical, agreed terms and is awaiting the go ahead from LFC. Relieved! He a mercenary -

I think it's going to go down to the last day, see what happens. Best case we get a Remy or someone on the cheap because their clubs must get rid.... Worst case we have Rom and Kone. My gut tells me we are done in the market now -
That exactly!

Was that how much they paid, just 1.5m? Really have to question why Moyes never went for him at a time when we needed midfielders
-
According to the mail today Spurs are willing to listen to offers. He was a real talent in Germany. I'd love to see him at Goodison. He's also a massive Everton fan which is nice

Ben Arfa would be a class signing. If handled correctly he can be a seriously talent and a long term replacement for Pienaar. Only concern is his wages. Isn't he one of NUFC's highest paid players? Still 2 seasons ago he was their best player - for the fee's being mention he must be worth enquiring about

Micah Richards
Stuie Hayllor replied to NyarkosLeftToe's topic in General Football and Sport Discussion
What was apparent tonight is that Hibbo simply isn't up to scratch anymore and age appears to be catching up with Distin. I can't see it happening as he Richards is on like 60 grand a week at the moment but if money wasn't an issue I think he would be ideal. I prefer him as a CB. -
Someone said (it's probably bollocks) that we get a % of the Rodwell sale? If we get rid of Gibson and we have some cash I wouldn't be against this, not for 8m though. Martinez bought out the best in him previously and if he has a good season (being English) he could double or triple his value.

This window is the first of it's kind in many ways. The increase in tv revenue etc means all clubs are spending money now - The teams we want to be challenging (United, Arsenal etc) are spending big whilst the clubs below us like Newcastle and all that are spending smaller but they are still spending for example14m for Borini?? It's make 20mil for Lukaku look the deal of the century and the more money these lower teams spend the higher the cost of average players becomes. We risk being left behind in a big way. Seeing so many other teams (not to mention the cash rich red shite) signing players so easily make this feel like the worst window ever - I'm hoping it gets better but with every week that goes by my optimism shrinks
