Everton 2 - 0 WBA

Some days everyone gets it wrong, and today was that day. Koeman got the formation and squad wrong. Joel and Coleman were poor. Lukaku invisible. Barry basically cancelled out every positive thing we were trying to do in the midfield.
-
Today's results make tomorrow crucial. A win puts us in the mix for the top six. I expect our boys to come out and play accordingly.

Spurs 0-2 Everton

A draw would be a good result for us. Spurs looked good today, at least in the first half. I agree with above; set up to counter and frustrate them with a tightly organized defense.

What a top lad defoe is.
I think this story has really hit many fans. Sad.
I agree. Shows a lot of character that he went and did that. Childhood illness like this is devastating. My thoughts are with Bradley.

would sign but I'm American.
Same for me; wouldn't let me sign. But I get the point. Our president is a lunatic.
-
It has been said elsewhere, but I'm more optimistic about the squad than I've ever been. With the RS form, I am even starting to believe we can overtake them.

Boro 1-3 Everton

Everton 4 - 0 Palace
As they say in the great American city of New Orleans, Laissez les bons temps rouler. Let the good times roll.

Taking the wife to brunch tomorrow morning for our anniversary so I'm going to be recording the match and watching it later. But this is a match Everton should win. I don't see a sit back and counterattack type match so there will need to be some creativity in the final third.
-
Been watching highlights all day. Amazed with Davies. He's such a breath of fresh air.
-
Are there no depths that this moron won't stoop to?
No. I don't think so. We aren't even close to the bottom. (There might not even be a bottom.)
-
Yep, no changes for me. Next five matches are winnable. So let's win them!
-
I might be in love with Tom Davies.

Sort of the same story it has been for most of the season: NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
But that said, Ronald is starting to play some youth. There are a few players past it that need binning--looking at Jags and Barry at the moment. They've been quality players for us but father time is undefeated. Davies should get every start while Geueye is gone for the ACN.

I will support Ronald through 4 transfer windows. I think he's got an idea of what he wants to do, which is press but sit deep and do it. It won't be a high press like Spurs, but it will be defensively sound and have the ability to hit on the counterattack. Unfortunately he doesn't have the players to do it now.
And pressing is much more than just saying, "I want to press." Every player has to coordinate and press at the same time. It took Klopp 2/3rds of a season to get his game straight with the shite, so we shouldn't expect things to turn immediately. He'll get the players he needs to execute the vision he has over the next window or two. Gueye and Bolaise will work. As will Lukaku. Essentially everyone else will be on notice.

Absolute garbage.

Can't believe we let our squad so thin up front
Charlie Austin was available and we didn't bite.
-
Because that's the players he has.
Bring on mirralas and put him up top with rom, we'll see a massive difference.
I agree with this. He's not got better options, is why. Though that is very scary because if there aren't academy players who are better than this lot, it's going to get worse.

We got a shot!

It seems my pessimistic feeling was right. Same players, same shit. Not sure what the answer is--maybe play young players? Baines effort in closing down that cross was ridiculous.

Odd lineup today, but I still trust Ron to get the boys ready to play. COYB
